Hello everyone - I've been working on an apron - one of mary jane's patterns - the christmas one with the long ties - that tie in the front. Well, after agonizing over fabric at the quilt shop for an hour - I started it this afternoon. It is screaming for some trim. two of my fabrics look too similar. I think I can put some embroidery on the middle ruffle to jazz it up some. judy from Kansas

These are the boxes I was working on yesterday. I still have sanding to do before the final finish is put on.

Diana, I love your quilts. I have done some quilting in the past but it isn't my forte. My box designs are based on quilt designs though as I thought they would appeal to the quilters out there.

Hi Maggie 14, I have been working on some odds and ends. I had an apron on a panel to cut out so I did that and tried to straighten this sewing room up. I worked on some farmgirl badges a few days ago. Just this and that things. Needy farm sister #1020

WOW!!!! Such talent among us!!! The pictures are awesome, you ladies please take a bow to the applause!!!

I am so happy to know many of you are working on aprons. They are quickly becoming the "in thing" and the more the merrier!! I hope when you are finished, you will post pictures for us to see

For those working on dish rags, please post your pictures too!!! Something I had never used before I joined here. Now I understand why they all of you make them after receiving some as gifts. A dish rag has a million and one uses for sure!!

What talent we have within our farmgirls! Everyone does such a beautiful job on their projects. I'm starting my bookmark for the swap and working on pot holders also for the swap. Then I need to take some time and organize my sewing room.
Keep posting pictures, I really love seeing everything your doing.

Blessings, Brenda

I am working on a tote bag for my daughter to use when she is transporting animals around. She rescues mostly rats but other things. (Pet rats not the wild kind). She found some Three Blind Mice fabric and I am working on a tote bag with lots of pockets. I am also working on a crochet purse for my merit badge and am knitting a rug out of hay string for the back porch. When I run into a snag on one I just switch to something else.

I just finished a lined ruffled apron that has been sitting for way too long on the sewing table. Then I lined and put the finishing touches on some hand stitch calendars - Yes, I know a bit late but at least it is not August....

I have finished spinning two new yarns that will go onto my Etsy shop hopefully today. I had the dye pots going very early this morning because I am Kidding watch so I only get to sleep for about two hours during the night time - so dye pots keep the house warm and get products done.

Inbetween going to the barn to check on the girls during this snow storm I will be working at the big carding machine - 16 pounds of dyed alpaca, mohair and silk is dry now so it is time to get to work.

Love hearing what everyone is doing - it give me energy to keep going.

Hi Channah, yes they are fun to make, I started another one , that is on a panel that I have had for along time, you know one of the things that got stuck in a draw for later. I have quite a few UFOs around here and that is what I'm trying to work on for now. Are you like that? My Mom had alot of that too, and when she passed away 2 years ago I inherited her sewing room stuff. My 3 sisters don't sew and they probably would have done away with everything, she asked me to clean it out, and I did. It gave me a extra bunch of odds and ends to good to throw out.I have started a scrap Quilt too. Well it was good to hear from you. I was out your way about 3 years ago and loved Washington, My step son was in the air force and stationed at Fairchild, We visited for 8 days. Good to hear from you and write again, Juanita Sister #1020

Hi Juanita - great to have you here. I know what you mean about UFO's - I have my fair share of them too. My problem is that once I set something down for very long it's so difficult to pick it up again. I ran across a sweater that I started almost two years ago but I think I'm just going to rip that one out and start over. I think it's great that you saved your mom's stuff. I inherited a lot of misc. sewing things from my mom. I love the vintage buttons she had thrown in a tin. She always made it a practice to cut the buttons off of things before she got rid of them. What a heap of memories going through that button box. What kind of quilt are you making? Is it a crazy quilt?

Hi Channah, by the way I love your name. No I haven't made many quilts or the big ones anyway, I am in the American Sewing Guild and we do alot of charity work, I made some lap quilts for the nursing homes. My husband liked them so I made one for him. I'm not a good quilter like my mom was she was very talented at whatever she did.
Our guild does Chemo caps for the patients and all sorts of things. Tshe last thing we worked on is Troop bags for the boys in the service, They are filled with goodies and sent over seas. All this is fun things to do, and I enjoy doing this for other people. I don't know if this a badge thing or not as for as the sisterhood goes but its ok. I Love it. I have been a sister for about 2 months. My scrap quilt is done in triangles of what ever I have on hand to cut a triange out of. all different colors. As soon as I learn to put my pics on the computer I show you. I'm an old woman and did not grow up with computers so I have to get someone to show me. HaHa Well you have a good evening it is 4:45 here and My husband is taking out for dinner and I must go get ready. Hugs to you too. Juanita Sister #1020
