I have been trying to encourage not only the customers that come into the Thrift (where I volunteer) but staff as well,,, to re-purpose stuff... so I made a few items and hung them on the wall...
Hope this gets them motivated...
The aprons are from cast off raggedy dress, the envelope clutch is from a wool skirt, the denim apron and tote bag- jeans... hot-pot pad I crocheted from a pillow case... I did a little embellishment, added a yoyo or two and Voila' instant re-newed items.

Grace- your work is beautiful and recycle and re purpose= a little bit on heaven on earth!! Thank you so much for sharing.

I love that apron- I'm making aprons right now for my daughters bridal shower- we aren't going to play games, but I am making each guest an apron to take home and remember the special day!!

I am still knitting and crocheting hats, scarves, fingerless gloves, mittens, etc. for a craft show in November. I have storage bins filled with items. I keep my fingers going constantly. Just finished some flip flops for my Etsy store.

What cute flip flops. Are they hard to make?

I've been doing a temp job for the company I retired from so not much getting done at home. This is my last week so hope to get back to the iron caddy I'm working on.

I've missed being able to read all the great stuff going on here at Mary Janes but will be back at it soon.

Great projects here,Grace I love your aprons and other items made from repurposed materials, you do beautiful work and I'm sure will inspire others to do the same.
The flip flops are really cute!
I have been crocheting a rose Irish crochet doily, not near done yet but I took a break from it and made another redwork chicken apron for my Etsy shop,I started it yesterday and finished it up this morning.
It turned out cute and I'm tempted to keep it but I went ahead and listed it,I can always make another one.
My Daughter Raven is starting to get a little put out doing all of my apron modeling,it's about time I started looking for a dress form!

Janet, I love the flip flops. We make them by cutting strips of fabric and knotting them around the straps.

Well this week I have been pickling and canning. I love this and hope to get enough laid by for the winter. My tomatoes aren't doing to well and I don't know what happen to my strawberries this year, they didn't do so well either. I hear a lot of gardeners strawberries weren't to good either.
I have also been doing some sewing and making some aprons, bread cloths, just odds and ends. The temps have been in the upper 90's and it is to blame hot to go out side, I usually wait until the evening or early morning. I really need to start back on my badges again. So far they have been on the back burner. I really don't know how to post them on the sight for MJF to see them and to get credit for them. I have done some crocheting and knitting and sewing and some garden work I built a trellis for my cucumbers to grow up on, actually I built 2. My beans are doing well and I have had 2 pickings out of them and I canned 11 quarts of green beans, 6 pints of bread and butter pickles and 1 pint of jalapeno peppers, these I do for my son. I guess I have caught up on the doings around and I love reading what every body else is doing, God Bless you all. Your farmsister #1020 Needy

I'm leaving shortly to pick donut peaches. I think I will pick enough to freeze also and maybe a peach pie. That will take quite a bit of work because the peaches are relatively small. Maybe a cobbler would be better.

My tomatoes aren't doing well either. I had them out on time, but I think some have been attacked by wilt. Then the weather has been cool and warm, cool and extra hot. They probably don't know what to make of it. I remember living in Portland, OR one year in the 60's and my tomatoes did not even ripen because it was so cool and wet.

Hi Betty, I glad to hear it just isn't me. I live on the east coast and my tomatoes were late, because the nights were just to cool, now they are real slow and small. Hope I get enough to freeze or can. we eat a lot of soup in the winter and I love my own tomatoes. At least I know whats in them. Farmsister #1020 Needy

Flip flops, canning jars, and aprons ohh my! Everyone is doing so many wonderful things.

Last week was my sons Baptism at my church, here are the cakes

My older son's Birthday cake for his second birthday

I made my son this quilt for his birthday

Still in a quilting mood I finished this.

I might start to tackle a T-shirt Quilt for my husband, this is being done rag style so it should go quick.

Oh my! I have never met a more energetic and talented group of people. I have way to many ideas to ever complete them all in my lifetime. You all are such an inspiration to me.

I am getting the knitting, crocheting and x-stitching bug again. Just finished several classes at the local quilt shop and have many beautiful projects going on the sewing machine.

Emily, your quilts and cakes are beautiful. I don't know how you do it with little people to care for, but keep up the good work.

Blessings,

Las Vegas Jean
