Welcome to the Sunshine Farmgirl co-op! Free to join as a member and only $5 a month for shop owners. Visit my website at www.sunshinefarmgirlcoop.com to join.
http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=33340 This is the link to the directory of co-op selling members. I am updating it as I get new members.
DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!! [red] Let's get the chatter going. How are you feeling about this special event? What goodies are you making to munch on while we shop and chat? I'm making a gluten free cake and tea to enjoy during the surprise. I can't wait to make the announcement of our special farm girl shop we will attack. Keep checking in to see how many surprises there will be.
We still need more members to support the upcoming farm girl surprise buying on three set days of each month. I need both, more buying members and listing members. If you want to support this, please sign up here. Your fellow farm girls thank you in advance. I realize that with the $10 limit that would leave some of you out. So, I am now removing that requirement so that everyone can participate. Hurry and sign up! Now, 11 days left!
I hope everyone is having a safe and happy 2010. To start off our year on a good step I wanted to start a "Surprise Week". This will consist of one person being drawn on a weekly basis that will receive a boost to their shop sales. 1. To qualify you must have items for sale, a minimum of 7-20 items for sale, have no sales or low sales or none in a long time. Price range from $1.00 and up[/red]
2. We will meet on [blue]first Monday of each month and I will reveal who the surprise persons will be. When you make a purchase put the words "surprise farm girl shop" in the comments box.
3. Come to this thread for the shop announcement. Also, we need more members to keep this rolling along. 4.You must have the same amount of items for sale and cost amount above. That will keep it where we don't break the bank!
5. This is open to all forum members.
6. If you want to add your shop to the list, just join the co-op. I also need your name and address and shop website or blog to add to our current list. You may email me that information.
7. I will pick one new member and one established member.
8. You have to respond in order to be in the drawing.
Let's hear it for a big successful 2010 for our farm girl co-op!!!!
A great big farm girl hug to you all,
Marsha

The items the person has in their shop have to be some for under $10 including shipping. It is up to your budget what you purchase and if you can or not each week. How about if we do it every 2 weeks then. I am hoping more will join us and doing it once a month will drag it out too long and may leave some out for the year. So let's plan for every 2 weeks on Monday's at 7 p.m. eastern and we meet under this thread. We are going to do everyone in the group so everyone gets a turn. But, I will be starting with the no sale or low sale shops first. So everyone needs to get more items ready for sale so we can all particiapte. So, when can you all be ready to start? In two weeks? Let me know and I will post the official start date.

Marsha, I would like to join! Thank you for contacting me about this!
I have a new business with a friend, and we are trying hard to get it going! Will you let us know ahead of time when each shop's week is? That would help to prepare lots of extra goodies for the MJ fans!
Let me know what you need from me! Count me in!

Great Hannah,
I'm so happy to see so many who are interested in this opportunity to help out fellow farmgirls. I've emailed each member and am waiting to hear back from everyone so I can announce the official start date. They are coming in little by little. I would like to try for the first Monday of Feb. that seems to be enough time for everyone to get ready. I want to pull something from another site that is doing this same thing to share with you all. I don't know how many members they have but they have made alot of people happy and helped them get their business off the ground.

It's a way to support independant artisans who are trying to sell their wares online. Two weeks a month at an appointed time, a co-op member's shop with few or no sales is announced on this site. As many people as possible then buy items from that shop, resulting in a frenzy of surprise business to the unsuspecting shop! To participate, show up on this site at or soon after the time of the next attack and you'll see the chosen shop name in the box above. Then go to that shop and purchase an item, making sure to include the words "Farmgirl Surprise" in the "message to seller". It's also fun to tune into the current thread on MJF to talk about it with other "attackers".

Great to hear from you all, I'm still waiting on the rest of the group. So, if you have not emailed me or replies here, please do so. Then, we can be ready on the first Monday of Feb.
Thanks to everyone for their support, Cindy you are so right that is exactly how I feel about doing this.
Hugs all around, Marsha

I am interested in joining but don't have things to sell - but I am starting to work with a group of young Farmettes and they may have some things to sell in the future - they are here in Florida. I will keep you posted for the sales issue, but interested in supporting the other gals as I can.
Thanks, Kim (aka missgive)

Thank you Kim and Farmettes. I look forward to you joining us. We will start the surprise shopping week the first Monday of Feb. Thanks for your support. I'm so glad so many see the positive side of this and how important it is to be a part of a group like ours.
Hugs, Marsha

How fun! There is a guy that does this on a website for Etsy shops. I've participated and it is so much fun to surprise the shop owner. How sweet of you to think of this. I would love to participate as both a seller and a buyer. Sales have been non-existent in my Etsy shop since right after Christmas. Plus I'd love to shop in other Farmgirl's shops.
