Afternoon ladies. Ran out of work so thought I'd jump on quick. It's a sunny day today. It was on the cooler side last night and earlier this morning so I turned off the AC and opened up the windows to get some fresh air. About an hour ago it was starting to get warm so closed the windows and turned the AC back on.

The meds have helped Tip but he does still have episodes of panting although not as bad as they were before. He's definitely in stage 2 out of 4 stages. The next stage would be losing consciousness from lack of oxygen. I was amazed reading multiple webpages that people seemed to think allowing their pets to go through losing consciousness repeatedly was okay. As heartbroken as I am about losing him, I would never put him through that. It would be so inhumane and unloving.

I'm a bit put out. The guy that Matt helped with his race car for putting on my business decal sold his car before we even had the decals put on it. Thankfully we hadn't put them on so he might be able to find another car to put them on. I would have been seriously put out if we'd wasted money on the decals and he never raced with them on. I'm curious if he refunded the money others paid to sponsor his car. It seems sort of unethical to take money for sponsorship and then not race or not race for the entire season because you sold the vehicle. It would be one thing if he'd been in an accident and damaged the car.

Peggy - The pictures on FB looked like you had so much fun. Sorry to hear about the fall though.

Okay, time to get ready for job 2 lol. Have a good night everybody.

Oh my goodness girls!! I've been without internet for more than a month. I have to have satellite internet and the dang thing got out of line when some big storms came through. Then come to find out the pole that it's on was loose in the ground. Well, it's all fixed now and I'm finally back. I could have used my phone but using it for MJF is cumbersome. I'd rather just use my desktop.

My chickens are doing well. Growing. I still have several months before those eggs start coming though. I can't wait!! We are having problems with raccoons now. We've caught three so far in a live trap. I have the guineas though. They've been very watchful over their flock. LOL! Bossy things and loud. We have a new addition to our animals. We got a puppy. He is part Boxer/Mastiff/Sooner. It will be a big dog when he gets older. He's only nine weeks right now. My husband has named him Zeus. He's learning that momma does not like to get up in the middle of the night for potty. LOL! I like my sleep too much.

I've been working on some loom knitting here lately. I'm working on sets to hopefully sell. It's a hat, headband, and scarf. I'm finishing up on a yellow and black scarf right now. I'm going to do some other scarves in different types yarn. I have so many ideas it's hard for me to keep up with them. Even if I write them down. I'm going to get a bunch of things made but I'm thinking of opening an Etsy store. I've noticed that it's harder to sell stuff around where you live and among friends than with strangers. Why is that??

Well, girls I'm going to catch up on some other MJF stuff and head to bed soon. Just made some tea so have a seat and fill up your cup. The lightning bugs are having a show.

Well I was thinking I hadn't checked in in a while and would have a lot to catch up on but it is pretty quiet.

Well the army decided that we can't go to the post we had put in for (in Kansas) because the specialist David needs is 2 hours away and they deem that too far to travel 4 times a year. I get their concern but I weigh more than just that particular issue and the other benefits of living there would outweigh that minor inconvenience. Unfortunately I wasn't able to convince them to change their mind. So now we are on to trying for the next option. I don't know how many locations we will have to try before someone agrees to take us. Who knew moving back to the U.S. would be harder than getting stationed in Germany/??

Anyway that is pretty much it. I'm trying to find time to do some crafty stuff again I feel like I've just been running around like crazy lately. Once I get through VBS things should slow down except for preparing to move. I will definitely take some time after moving before taking on any projects at all to rest and settle in.

Good Morning My Porchies...

Just got back from my walk. I am weary today but at least it was a cooler walk by going in the earlier part
of the morning. I got a new water bottle (made by Thermos and cost $60.00 but I got it for Free)and it has a Smart Lid...which you plug in and charge once a week and it keeps track of How much water you drink each day and then syncs it with your Fitbit information. My goal is 64 oz per day. It is really cool! I thought I ordered the one that lights up for every 24 oz you drink...so I at first thought this one didn't work. But discovered I hadn't ordered the one I thought I had. There are so many out on the Market these days.
Because I hate water...I can easily slack off of drinking it. This Lid, like my Fitbit keeps me motivated.

Went yesterday and ordered glasses since I broke mine and my DIL's fix didn't hold. I have found I now have two cataracts. Which I guess is normal at my age...but neither is ready to need surgical removal yet.
Though my right eye...that has had a cataract the longest...has gotten worse. I can only see 25/40 out of
that eye. My son asked me what color glasses I got and I tried so many on I can't remember which ones I
settled on. But I know they are either purple or red...because those are the only colors I tried on. I think I chose red...so for sure they will be the purple ones!! LOL I have to wait 7-10 days to get them and I can't read a thing without glasses...so I will have to go buy a cheap pair of readers until I get the
glasses. Oui Vey!

I got my 10,000 steps in yesterday morning...but my kids wanted me to go walking with them last night
down at Old Fort Vancouver. So, I did. Elijah took his Scooter and Helmet and he was so cute to watch
on that thing. He is really good for a 3 year old.

Sabrina...that is so silly about the service not wanting you guys to drive 2 hours one way/4 times a yr.
that is nothing in the whole scheme of things. Oh, well...perhaps God knows he has better plans for you
somewhere else. Hope you get your 2nd Choice. Keep us posted.

Prairie Tammy...yes, we really did have a Fabulous Time at Neskowin Beach...and I have been enjoying my
book on The History of The Delightful Cottages there. I found out about the Book from a Local woman...who
saw me walking around taking pictures of the Cottages and Flowers. They were all just so charming! I could
live in anyone of them in a heart beat! ~ Sorry, about the Race Car Driver not following through with his end of you guys advertising on His Race Car. That would have been such great exposure for your business.

RoDonna...good to see you on The Porch. I can't imagine not having Internet for a month. Like you said you
could check it on your phone but who wants to type a long post on a little cell phone. Not me either. They are great for texting or small quick posts but nothing more. ~ Thanks for the Tea...I think I will have a cuppa!

Judy...believe it or not I had no unusual aches & pains the next day after the fall. I guess because I
am always in Fibro pain...I just couldn't distinguish one from the other. Thanks for the Lemonade to
welcome me home.

Well, girls I am falling asleep typing this...I'm so tired of getting up early to beat the heat...I need
to go take a nap. OK...I'm off, have a Beautiful Day and Enjoy Summer Weather!

Love and Hugs,
Peggy

Hello ladies,
It is a beautiful cool day here and I have enjoyed being outside more. We are to have a few days of this which is very unusual for us this time of year. But I am not complaining.
I have finished several Aurora Teagarden books but need to do a bit of reading for school now that she has given us two books to read on top of the one we already did. I like reading but not so much school stuff in the summer. I have spent more time at school since school got out because we have so many new ones and we have a lot of work to do for accreditation and well just getting all our ducks in a row. But I am not liking it at all.

My granddaughters were here this week which was nice. They went fishing and caught 24 fish. Thankfully they threw them back. I was a bit worried about cleaning them lol. Then I took them to a softball game as some of the girls in my class play ball and wanted me to come watch. I have done that a couple of times this summer. My granddaughters enjoyed it. It was good to see them.

I have been doing some things around the house. But I am sure I will think it is not enough. But oh well I like enjoying summer as much as I can.
Peggy I am so proud of myself. I have made my step goal every day but one. You inspire me I feel like when you post pictures of your walks I am walking with you.

well time for evening tea and a bit of quiet time.
love and blessings,
Tammy

Good Saturday Morning to You My Porchies...

Just got back from my walk. Nice cool morning out there...so it was quite pleasant.
I didn't push the dog stroller today...so Snickers wasn't very happy with me leaving
him behind but I need a break from all that pushing once in awhile. You can't imagine
how much more exerting pushing a stroller and a 24lb dog is over a five mile haul.
Today seemed like a piece of cake.

Teacher Tammy...it hardly seems fair that they have all this stuff for you to do at school
over your summer break. Do you get paid for it?? I certainly hope so. You should be able to
just enjoy your summer!! ~ Woot! Woot! On getting those steps in girl! So Proud Of YOU!!!
That is Awesome! Makes you feel good to know you can do it doesn't it? ~ I am almost done with
the second Aurora Teagarden book. Really enjoying this story plot even more than the first one.
Did you know that she has like 8 or more books in this series??? I am listening to the Molly Murphy
books by Rhys Bowen while I walk and I am just getting ready to listen to books six. I get much
more listening done walking than I do reading at Night. Mostly because almost every night I fall
asleep reading. LOL Will probably read the first 3 books in the Teagarden Mysteries then take a
break and read something in between before I read any more. I often do that with a series for a
tad bit of variety. But when listening on Audio...I listen straight through the entire series. These Molly Murphy Books are great stories.

Oh, by the way my glasses came in early...I got them yesterday and
they are RED! Feels so good to be able to see again!

Well, I hope all you other Porchies are doing some fun Summer things. Don't make me round up the
Posse however. Drop in every couple days at least. So, we know that you are alive and well.

Blessings,
Peggy

Happy 4th of July.

Of course being in Germany isn't quite like a normal 4th. The base does have activities and fireworks of course but hubby can't stand crowds and doesn't like being near fireworks so we don't go. We might be able to see the display from my house but I can't remember if we could last year. There aren't any for us to set off ourselves because the PX doesn't sell them and of course the German stores don't sell them this time of year. It would also probably not be allowed to set them off since they have strict quiet hours.

Peggy-I am trying to remind myself that God is in control and ultimately HIS plan will come out not the army's but it is so frustrating. On one hand changes are part of life and I can be flexible on the other hand the fact that they won't listen to me at all and I apparently have no say in how far I'm willing to drive frustrates me. Also, there is a good chance I will switch us to our insurance option that gives us more choices in providers rather than having to use the on base docs so it does't really matter what they *think* they have available. It is also frustrating because the specialist we need to see here doesn't even exist over here. They don't have ophthalmologists here who specialize in pediatrics which is what he needs. Here they just use regular ophthalmologists to see kids and I have never felt like the guy here is really an expert in David's issue. PLUS his appointments were taking around 3 hours from check in to being complete-with all my kids that is insane. Maybe it was the language barrier but I never felt like it went well. ALSO he was supposed to be getting speech therapy, he had it in the states and we had the IFSP (IEP) for him coming over. Well we get here and they tell us he can only get speech therapy if I enroll him in the preschool program on post. That would be 5 half-days a week at age 3 and 4. It would mean I had to drive him to post and pick him up every day just for him to get 1 or 2 hours a week of speech. This didn't sit well with me. I homeschool and felt like sending one kid off to school would send the wrong messages to all of them. Plus having to load everyone up twice a day to drive to post. I also don't agree with the preschool program here, they are teaching sight words and doing lots of sit down worksheets and such and that is just not how I think it should be for young children. So anyway we just didn't do it but I thought it was very wrong that they don't offer the ability to just bring him up there for speech therapy. I feel like they are just trying to force people to use the preschool program. ALSO, I am on a specific medicine for my thyroid (not the "normal" medicine) because the other medicine doesn't work for me. My life has significantly improved since switching. The medication I'm on was also in our paperwork to come over here and then I get here and they REFUSE to Rx it to me and tried to switch me back to the medication that doesn't work. So all of that to say they basically ignored all our needs when they sent us here and all of a sudden it is hard to get orders to go back to the US because the doctor is 2 hours away???? It doesn't make any sense. I just keep reminding myself we only have to deal with the army's nonsense for 5 more years!

Well I've got cleaning to do today while hubby is off work so I better get moving!

HAPPY 4TH oF JULY...My Porchies...

My husband went to Seattle to see Daniel in Prison a 3 hour drive both ways and was only allowed
1 hr. and 10 min visit. Plus they put every one is a room with chairs lined up shoulder to shoulder
one row facing the inmate and 1 row facing the visitor. Everyone hears everyone else's conversation.
My husband said it was just Crazy. He is hard of hearing anyway...which didn't help.

I stayed and spent the day with my youngest son's family. We did a BBQ and just enjoyed the kids at home.

Sabrina...it does sound very confusing and frustrating...what you have to deal with...in the Military.
My ex-inlaws were Military and they went to Local Dr's for anything major and Post Dr.'s for the minor stuff. They would get very frustrated too with the lack of adequate medical treatment.

Hope everyone had a Great 4th of July!!!

Hugs and Smiles,
Peggy

Peggy - Please don't send the posse, or the Texas Rangers either. :) I haven't been on here in a lo-o-o-ng time, but I've been checking and praying when needed. I've been busy with my first book. With the feedback from older readers, I decided to make it the first book in a trilogy, which meant it had to be rereleased under a different title. The first edition will go out of print shortly, since the content is the same. You can read the explanation here: http://www.wandasturrock.com/website/honeysuckle-sippin-hiding-lizards/ and there are some reviews at the bottom of this page: http://www.wandasturrock.com/website/honeysuckle-sippin-2/

On top of that, I'm finally able to get physical therapy for the injury to my hip, maybe figured out a way to get a loan to get my roof fixed, working on book 2, and have been trying to keep the wild growth beat back from the door. I may not show up often, but I am keeping an eye on you gals.

Good afternoon ladies,
It is a hot day here. We had hot weather and severe storms yesterday and more storms in forecast for today.
Yesterday my hubby and I celebrated 25 years of marriage. That is hard to believe. We are leaving on Sunday to take a vacation just the two of us to Texas to see my dad and go to a beach. I am so excited about the beach. It has been on my bucket list for years. We will be gone for a week. Then when I get back I really have to hit school hard. I am not sure how that happened. It feels like we just got out and I have to go back August 1. YIKES!!!!!!

I would appreciate your prayers for hubby though. He pulled a muscle in his back and the dr said it will heal very slow and he is not the most patient man on the planet. But pray he can handle being in the car on our trip and it heals properly. living on a farm and him heading back to school to means he has lots to do and he is not supposed to lift a lot. I may have my hands full making sure that doesn't happen. lol

Peggy I read the first three in the Aurora series and now I am reading Kisses for Kate for school and another book for school and a new mystery that for the life of me right now I can't remember hahahah

well ladies I best skedaddle for a bit. Got laundry to fold and it is teatime.
love and blessings,
Tammy

Teacher Tammy...so Happy that you are finally going to make it to a BEACH. I don't know how the Beaches
are in Texas...but take some pictures so you can post them when you return. So excited for you!!!
Hope you and hubby have a great Vacation! Will be praying for you! And also for his pulled muscle.

Need to go eat dinner. I am late tonight due to making a Wreath for my Foyer. More later girlies!

Peggy- that visit sounds very frustrating for your husband I'm sorry you have to deal with any of this. Yes it can definitely be frustrating. It isn't ALL the army's fault-there are some other circumstances and we are trying to get them to let us leave early. But it is super annoying to be told we can't go to a place because the medical care is an hour or two away but they sent us here where it isn't available at all, at least not the correct specialist. It just doesn't make sense. As far as on or off post care, I don't know how it used to be but for us we have two options we can choose. One has almost zero out of pocket costs but we HAVE to use the on base docs unless THEY decide they can't do something and refer us out, then we have pretty limited options on who they refer us to. The other has deductibles and copays like regular insurance (although comparatively very low) and we can't use the on post docs (technically we can but it is space available and there is never space available) but we have more options for off post docs and it is easier to see a specialist. Generally it is worth the cost but depends a lot on what is available off post in the area. If there isn't much medical care in the area anyway it may not be worth it.

Wanda-congratulations on getting this far with your first book. And turning it into a trilogy how exciting!!

Tammy-praying for your husband and congratulations on 25 years, that is awesome! I love the book Kisses for Katie, even more so because of "my daughters" in Uganda. (We sponsor 3 girls there who we hosted one summer a few years ago). I hope you have/had a relaxing trip!

Well we are still waiting for decisions from the army. The planner in me is going crazy! I just want to know so I can start making plans!!! I am almost certain the kids and I will be back in the US by the end of November but if hubby will be coming with us or coming later I don't know. There are so many things to figure out and I just really can't do much of anything until I know WHERE we are going!

I-of course-have a million things to do. I think VBS is almost planned, I have some volunteer meetings this month and need to figure out what we are going to do about decorations. CC is almost ready. We currently have 29 kids enrolled. I will only accept 3 more. I just have to order materials and do some training this summer. Then there is just general cleaning and getting ready for packers to come in 4 months. But this morning I'm just sitting here. We have a work pic nic thing to go to with hubby later and I am not motivated to be productive this morning. I need to turn in several weeks of social studies curriculum this weekend since I got behind and do some other training.

Well I have something else to tell y'all but can't do it yet....soon :).

I better go find something to do.

Hi to all.
Tammy, Happy late Anniversary! How wonderful! Sadly you don't see a lot of that anymore.
Peg, you ate late at nite because of a wreath? Pics please. Anything that puts you off your 'vittles' for that long... I must see! Lol
It's been really hot here off n on. When it gets hot, it gets humid. This is the hottest June n July I can remember. Lots of 90's. We just aren't use to that. Only in late July and August...and then only a couple of days. Our fans are getting a workout this year. Dave has used the a/c in his room a couple of nights but my room is upstairs n I get cool air thru the windows at night. Poor Dave came down with a summer cold. It started in his throat and is in his chest now. It's a really hacking, tight kind of thing. He said he feels ok, just can't stop hacking. Poor feller. Being a diabetic he's limited as to what he can do. I've been doctoring him with teas, which he's asked me for plus carried some to work.
This weather has been great for the berries. Picked them 3 times now, every couple of nights. Last night I got a nice mix of red, black and white berries out of my little patch. We had them over ice cream and pound cake. Yum! Dave said it 'hit-the-spot' as a snack after work and before bed! He gets in around 8 and goes to bed around 9:30 so he can get up at 4:30, so, ya, gotta eat lite!
Sure glad we skipped the garden this year. This weather would have killed it.
ANgie, how nice to be hosting a fellow farmgirl. That has to be fun. Enjoy!
Patsy is waiting for Dave to shake this 'bug' before she comes to visit. Can't blame her there.
Well, make it a great day Gals!
Love Yuns!

OK Miss Judy...here is my Wreath. It is made out of strips of fabric (3 rows total) one row is
actually on the back side just to help it look thicker and fuller. A farm sister sewed the bird
for me...since I don't have a sewing machine. I could have done it by hand...but she took pity
on me. LOL It took quite awhile to tie all those strips of fabric on...but start to finish just
two evenings. ~ Oh, I hope Dave gets well soon. Poor Guy...nothing worse than a summer cold. Especially
in the HEAT you are having. My heart goes out to him. I don't blame Patsy for wanting to wait until
he is well. As we get older you really can't be too careful with your health. I have decided that I
can't go visiting grand kids in the fall and winter months because they are always sick from other
school friends and then I get sick and bring it back and share it with everyone here. NOT GOOD!~
Your Berries sound good enough to eat! You could mix them all into a Crumble or a Cobbler too. YUM!

Sabrina...Haven't heard from Shannon. I think you must be right. They don't have their computers
set up at the new house yet. ~ Yeah, my in-laws had totally different circumstances with Military Dr.s
verses civilian Dr.s. They could go to either or back then. If you used civilian Dr.s it was ALL out of
pocket and up front. Sounds like the circumstances are way different now days in the Military. Hang in
there girl. I think I can guess what you want to share with us...but need to wait on for awhile. But
I will keep my guess to myself. LOL

WELCOME TO THE PORCH ANGIE...glad to have you join us. Sorry, to hear that you have military issues too
because of your sons medical. That must be so frustrating. I find civilian Medical pretty frustrating
too these days. As I'm sure many others do too.

I just got done with my walk about 45 minutes ago. Which is a good thing as it looks like it is going
to pour rain any minute. I went prepared with my umbrella and wind-breaker when I walked. But the only
water I encountered was the sweat pouring of off me. LOL I sweat so profusely when I walk. Usually not
until about mile 4 but when I get home I literally have to change clothes. The more water I consume the
more I sweat. I guess that is why I use to never sweat as a kid and young adult because I never drank
water. I have now lost a total of 25 lbs in 6 months. If I lose 25 more in the next 6 months I will be
exactly where I want to be weight wise. My Fitbit really is a good motivator for me.

Ok...off to nap for an hour and then hubby and I have errands to run. Have a Great Friday Night Ladies!

Hugs and Smiles,
Peggy

Hi ladies,
Just popping in between laundry and things. Getting ready for our trip. We leave Sunday the 10th and will be back home on the 17th. I am very excited to get away for a bit with my hubby, see my day, and not think about school for whole week. Now when I return I will have to get going.

We have had severe storms the last few days. I have spent the time during the afternoon cleaning up Today it is cool and sunny and beautiful. Thankful for that.

Peggy I have started to drink more water too. My dr. said I need to even being in the classroom I have to get more in. So working on that. I am getting better. I love my fitbit.

Welcome Angie to the porch. Glad you are with us.

well the dryer buzzed so off I go.
love and blessings,
Tammy

Hi, porchies! My friend, Angie, is playing hostess for my visit to FL....everyone should have such a friend!!! We are working on badges, quilting (She is owner/operator of Farm Girl Quilting), catching up with teacher friends, and my interest in all things vintage. Whew! She is also showing me how to navigate on this site, and I am learning....SLOWLY! Y'all be patient with me! What I want to do, and what I am currently capable of doing are two entirely different things! Enjoying reading about you ladies and your lives. I will catch you later. My sweet southern iced tea is calling!

Welcome Brenda To The Porch...how blessed you are to have Angie to visit with and craft with.
I hope you two have a Glorious time together. So, are you learning to quilt? I have done a little
bit of hand quilting...usually on projects where an entire group is working on parts of the quilt.
I have never machine quilted but my ex-Mother In Law made gorgeous machine quilts and I was blessed
to be gifted with several of them. I treasure her form of quilting too. ~ I hope you and Angie will
both come back to The Porch regularly and let us get to know you and visa versa. And share a glass
of Sweet Tea with each of us. One great thing about the Porch...when we share food and drink all the
calories are removed ...that is the Beauty of Virtual Porch Sitting. I made a Chocolate Bundt Cake...so,
every one grab a plate and enjoy! You and Angie...bring a couple of Pitchers of your Sweet Tea and we
will have a little Porch Party tonight...and watch the fire-flies light up our night.

Teacher Tammy...I really like my new Hydration Bottle...that syncs with my Fitbit. I still am not drinking
all I should but I am really trying to get at least 64 oz a day. Well, you leave for your trip in two days...and I am so excited for you!!! Be safe and enjoy your Vacation to the Fullest.

Praying for all the killings of Police Officers and the killings of 2 black Americans who seemed very innocent and yet tragically killed by Officers. We need to remember that God created ALL Mankind in His
Image. He Loves us All! And we are meant to love each other as God loves us. God is totally color blind and we need to be also. It isn't about Blacks Matter...it's ALL PEOPLE MATTER. May God forgive us all...
and bless those who lost their loved ones this past week. Such senseless killings must stop!

Love and Hugs,
Peggy

Good morning- So excited about the day ahead... My hubby is going to play chauffeur for Brenda and I so we can antique shop and what would a trip be without a quilt shop stop! Our son who is home on leave went camping with friends last night so it was the perfect day- it is also my last day before I go back to work on Monday. I am a school principal with Florida Virtual School. I worked in the traditional system for 20 years- tried a short stint with a book company and then came back to my roots-- Education is what I am called to do. Many are often confused about the virtual job- I do the same things a traditional principal would do except I don't do budgets or facilities. It has really been good for us- my hubby retired the summer of 2014, Sam graduated and left for the Army- which made us empty nesters. The nice thing about this job is if we decide to go on a trip- I load up my compare, my phone and away we go.

Peggy- I was reading your signature line and I am assuming you knit? I have been wanting to learn to do something simple... what do you suggest?

Teacher Tammy- Congrats on 25 years. We celebrate 24 next week. (18th) Praying for your hubby and his back.

BTW Peggy that 'Virtual" piece of chocolate cake was delicious. Just what I needed since I am starting the last week of a challenge at my gym.

Praying everyone has an awesome weekend!
Angie

Angie...so happy to have you back! I do Knit and have for years but have actually taken a bit of a break
from it the past 8 months. I am Coloring Up a Storm these days. I find it quite relaxing and something I
have always loved to do since a child. Though this is the first time I have done it daily. I post my
pictures on FB. If you and Brenda FB please send me a Friend Request. PeggyAnn Pierce Smith and I live in
Vancouver, WA There are other Farmgirls who are on my Friends List Also. ~ Now a simple Knitting Project
would be a scarf (a Knit one row, purl the next is a very easy pattern just repeating it as long as you
want it to be and add fringe on the ends when you finish it). Also, Dish Cloths are relatively easy. You
can type in Free Patterns for either scarfs or dish cloths into google and print yourself off all kinds
of patterns. And if you need help there are all kinds of great Tutorials on line too. ~ Antiquing is one of my favorite things to do. I have 3 shops I love to frequent. One in Portland, One in Vancouver, and one in Camas. They are my go to places for a fun day!!! So, I hope you and Brenda have a grand time and find yourself some treasures. Please post pictures on The Porch if you can. We love to see other sister's great finds too. ~ Glad you enjoyed the Virtual Choc. Cake. LOL

Well, hubby wants to go to Barnes and Noble and then he is dropping me off at 5:00 to watch the grand kids
so mommy and daddy can have a Date Night. I think that is so important for busy young couples.

Do you also exercise using a Fitbit by chance Angie? Something you said made me think maybe you did. Doing
a Challenge at your gym. I walk daily about 4 1/2 to 5 miles and I use a fitbit Charge. It really helps to
keep me motivated and I highly recommend them to others.

OK...enough blab...I'm off to a busy afternoon and evening. More Later My Porchies.

Hugs and Smiles,
Peggy

Evening ladies,
Just popping in before we leave tomorrow. I am packed and ready. Spent today getting food stocked for son who is staying here and for my dogs...sheesh I am sure he won't spoil then like I do but I will make up for when we return. Looking forward to a week of just being. I was surprised my hubby is looking forward to this trip. He usually worries about farm, but he said my dad took a few trips so I guess I can and I can hope things will not fall totally apart.

I hope yall have a wonderful week. Prayers for our travel would be appreciated.

Well off to have evening tea and get ready for early start.
love and hugs,
Tammy

Good Morning- As you will find, I do most of my porch setting early in the morning. Peggy thanks for the knitting info. I am looking up dish cloths today. Is there a certain kind of yarn you use? Also, I used to have a fit bit, but quit using it when I started at the gym. I am thinking I gave it to one of my kids- I will have to look and see. Tammy praying you have a safe and relaxing trip. Our Anniversary is the 18th-- we were looking at going away for the weekend, but have decided to "unplug" and get some house projects done that we are both so busy we never seem to have the time. I know that may sound like a boring way to spend your anniversary, but we both love our home/mini farm. We both grew up on cattle ranches/farms in the central FL area...we both got away from that life and now it has come back full circle. We actually miss it! My MIL thought I was crazy when I had my husband put a clothes line up in the back yard... she wanted to know if my dryer was broken. NO... I just love the smell of clothes that have dried on the line. The older I get the more I appreciate the simple things in life. We love to travel and to be able to do that more we decided to cut corners where we can and it is working for us. This year we flew to WA to visit our son who is stationed in Tacoma - beautiful area of the country. In the fall I am attending a week long quilting workshop in Utah (Brenda is crashing my hotel room for the week so she can site see) and we will go to 2 big car shows in PA at the end of Sep/Beg. of Oct. Because I work virtually I will work from the hotel while my husband does his thing at the car shows... then in between the 2 we will have a fews days in Amish country (which BTW includes some of the best fabric shops ever!). Anyone else have trips planned for the rest of this year? I love hearing about the places others are going. Ok better sign off and get ready for church.

Praying you all have a blessed Sunday!
Angie

Teacher Tammy...Bye-Bye!!! Have a Wonderful Week!!!

Angie...I love the Lily brand Sugar n Cream Cotton Yarn. You can get it in small amounts (2.99-3.99) or Large Spools for 12.99 The Large Spools are the better buy but have limited Color Choices.I buy it at JoAnn Fabrics or WalMart. Both in store and on line. And I always watch for sales. I don't think I buy anything that is NOT on Sale. I am just very frugal that way. ~ Well, so far this summer I have gone to The Oregon Coast and my youngest son and family rented a Beach House there. It was Heaven...hated to come home. I LOVE the Beach...it feeds my soul! And I went to Seattle for a week and stayed with my oldest
Son and Family. I have two beautiful grandchildren in Seattle and two here in Vancouver. They are my
Hearts Delight! I may go to Seattle again at the end of this Month...not sure yet! And then we are kicking
around the idea of a Trip to Victoria BC in August. At the end of Sept/first of Oct. I take my Bible Study
Group (18 Ladies) to The Oregon Coast again for a Ladies Retreat. We just go and relax, shop and eat...for 4 days and
3 nights. There is nothing Spiritual to speak about this Retreat...other than God always meets us there
in the most Wonderful Ways! That is about it for my Traveling for the year. ~ You sound like you have a
lot of FUN times ahead of you this year too. And lucky Brenda...gets to tag along too! How fun!! I wish
I could hide in your suit case for your Trip to Amish Country. Would Love That Experience! I read a lot
of Amish Fiction Books and would love to buy one of their quilts.

~ Doesn't look like we are going to make it to Church today as Hubby has gotten just a few hours of sleep in the last three days. He is working on a project for his son who is incarcerated. It is raining here so my Fibro is flaring anyway. God and I will do Church here...as I am doing a Summer Study in the Book "Wonderstruck" by Margaret Feinberg. It is an Awesome Study.
I am going to need to rest myself before we go to our Son's for Dinner. And since today is My Day Of Rest...I never walk my 5 miles on Sunday. When it rains like it is doing today...I often use the Treadmill at The Fitness Center for my walking but I much more enjoy the beautiful outdoors and fresh air.

Judy...Hope Dave is feeling better!!! Did you ever get any of the Aurora Teagarden books to read? I am
on the Third One and am really enjoying them.

BLESSED SONDAY GIRLS!!! May You and The Lord Have a Beautiful Day!

Love, Hugs and Joy,
Peggy

Happy Blessed SonDay to all! We are getting a reprieve from the 90's heat just now. So glad we don't ever have to suffer for more than a few days in a row but what God throws in a low to mid 80's. Dave is still hacking his lungs out, Said his ribs hurt. Poor feller. Maybe I should give him my rib back. At least it doesn't hurt. Hahaha He said it's a viral infection. It's just now starting to loosen up. At least by Christmas it'll be a vague memory, right? *giggle*
Peg, that cake was de-liiish!!! Thank you Buddy, for that. It was just what I was craving. And the sweet tea washed it down beautifully, Angie! Being in N.E.Ohio we spend a lot of time in Amish country. That slower pace just rests my soul! And we have a few settlements around here to spend time.
Well, that's it for me. Time to do some(R&R), reading and resting. My recliner is calling me for a nap too.
Later Porch-Buds! Love yuns bunches!
