Peggy,
It is so nice isn't it. Started out raining but didn't last long. Wish I wasn't in a snuggle up and do some handiwork mood.
A mile and a half is enough work for the moment. :-)

Tami...why is it when it is raining we want to be outside and when it is nice we feel like snuggling in and crafting or reading a good book??? I moved onto the good book, not working outside! LOL

Angela...Chili huh? Do you have cold weather in Indiana today or just in the mood for Chili? It is a bit too warm here for chili but then it really should be too warm for a cup of hot coffee too huh?

going in off the porch until later! enjoy your day!

Blessings,
~peggy

It's in the 60s here. Good chili weather. Also good weather for canning. So I did. I canned up 2 batches of rootbeer jelly and 2 batches of mt. dew jelly. I'm prepping up for the farmers market. Now I need to make a batch of muffins to try out a new recipe for the ones I'm makin for the market too. I'll have blackberry muffins for everyone to try in 45 mins!

I finally earned my first badge! I'm on page 75 of the merit badge post. It's a pic of my youngest Martha feeding grass to our chickens while we were cleaning out the coop. Yea!!!

Wow! How interesting, Root beer Jelly and Mt. Dew Jelly? That's so fun, I've never heard of that...it even sparked an eye from the DH...! He loves Mt. Dew!

Spent the day studying for that Horticulture Exam.....and then met my new neighbor...invited her for a BBQ when she comes back in July...she's going back to NY for a few weeks. One thing about Florida, everyone comes and goes...I tried to tell her about the Farmgirls group, but she just kinda looked at me and smiled...like, (honey, thanks but no thanks) People just don't get it...I can't understand it? there's over 10,000 members here that get it, where are they? Not in FL.....
Well, it's nice to sit here with people that get it! your muffins and jelly and tea sound great!
Thanks for allowing me to vent!
I did plant my zuchini, butternut, tomatoes, and crooked neck squash today....hopefully, the florida Hurricane season doesn't drown them! it's a test.....we'll see!
Chili sounds good .........hmmmm...

Angela...That Jelly does sound delightful! Do we get a taste?
And...Congrats on getting your first Merit Badge. I want to do that too but am having trouble getting
someone to send me the PDF Pamphlet on the badges. So, I can really look them over and decide
what I would like to do first.
Deborah...(my sister's name by the way) I spent the day in the hospital today with my hubby. Just a minor
surgical procedure but a rather risky one. PTL everything went out well.
Tami...how was the weather in Longview today? Rainy here in Battle Ground! BUT today would have been a
great day for that Chili.

Well girls it is always good to end the day on the PORCH with you. Right now I just want to put my feet up
and relax and have a cup of tea.

Blessings,
~peggy

Good morning gals!!! After a rainy day yesterday we are seeing some sun. I'm hoping to get a few weeds pulled while the ground is soft out there. I'll have to fit it in between delivering meals and the social hour/dinner for volunteers.

It sounds like everyone is busy. I had two days off because my computer was taken over by a virus. The computer repair guy said there has been a lot of it in our area, even his home computer got it. It is good to be back and able to chat with everyone.

I've a pot of chocolate raspberry coffee on this morning. Come enjoy a cup before you get too busy. Enjoy your day!!

Afternoon ladies,
I brought scones and strawberry tea to celebrate being out of school. As a teacher I am ready for a bit of break. It is bit cloudy here and looks like rain but I am so happy to not have to think anything school and just enjoy.

Peggy,
While we lived in TN we learned quickly that school starts early and ends early. I was told that it has something to do with the heat. Dunno if it's true but sounded good to me. I wouldn't want to sit in the classroom when it's 100 outside.

Good morning! It is bright and sunny here today, even a little breezy. We may get into the low 80's today. So I'm planning a visit to a couple of garden centers to get the rest of my plants for the hanging baskets.

I'm ready for some scones, thank you. Here's some strawberry pancakes with strawberry sauce to put over them. Enjoy!

Have a great day!!

Peggy,
we start early too...so we really do get a short summer. So I take what I can get..hehehehe This was a long year with winter...it was long, snowy, and did I say long. There are some schools in our area who start later and then go later...till almost June. I am just glad for a break to refresh and renew.

hugs

Hey, Tami (Longview) did you get those fifty mile an hour wind gusts yesterday?
I thought we might get some downed trees around here (there were a lot in Oregon) but
just branches and porch and patio furniture blown all over the place. My neighbor has
a Humming Bird Nest on one of her Wind Chimes...and we were happy to see it still there
and intact this morning! God took care of those little babies.
Blessings,
~peggy

Hi Girls! I hope you guys had good days yesterday! Yesterday I had my transition retreat for 8th graders. It was okay, mostly just a repeat of what our pastor has been trying to tell us for the past few months. I missed posting yesterday! Well, God Bless and have a good day!

Peggy,
I don't think the wind was quite that bad up here although a drive around town would certainly tell the tale. It was quite nasty though. So glad I made a pot of chili earlier in the week.
