Joyce...I Love Cannon Beach...it makes a nice day trip. We usually stay at Lincoln City because it is
bigger, many beaches, many Restaurants, and great shopping at the Outlet Mall there. Some people love
the big Casino there but I could care less. I have been in it half a dozen times to eat over the years...
but they allow smoking in the Casino...and it is all around where you are seated to eat...so I hate that.
So, we are staying in Lincoln City again next weekend...Fri thru Mon. We have a cute place above a Coffee
and Scone Shop...which should be perfect for a quick breakfast.

I love Astoria too but my husband has never liked it. The kids and I liked it because that is where they
shot "The Goonies" Movie, 30 years ago and that really put them on the Map. I also climbed the Aster Column
to the very top...when I was 9 Months Pregnant with my youngest. I was hoping it would start my Labor but it
didn't. LOL Anyway Joyce, I love that you know these places that I talk about!

Well, had a fun day with my kids. We went to the Grist Mill. I will post pictures tomorrow...too tired tonight.

Sweet Dreams My Lovelies,
Peggy

Peggy-I actually probably don't do more than one big thing in any single day :) it is all spread out LOL. Also spread out by season, for example Classical Conversations won't start until September, but really the bulk of the work will be this summer and then I'll just have to show up. The Bible study won't be too much outside work either so it should all work itself out. I'm still so sorry about your son seems like they just keep making it harder on y'all-I know that feeling but in different situations.

Shannon-man so much going on for you, I'm praying. Wish I could do more.

Well Joyce-a couple people already beat you to that!! But you are certainly welcome to join them lol. I love the books too and mostly signed up so I can get a discount for my kids and use anything I make for MORE BOOKS!!! Of course if it really takes off and I have some extra income that would be cool too!! Getting "approved" is to be able to do live parties here locally if they don't approve it I can only do online stuff with friends and family back in the states which I what I've been doing with the other company :). It will work out and I'll just do whatever they let me. Just frustrating they are so darn difficult!!

I was feeling really off kilter the last few days, irritable and anxious and just generally like things were swirling out of control. I couldn't figure out what was going on, the first week hubby was gone I felt pretty great about how I was handling everything and I don't have really high expectations of myself. Well I think I figured it out. I had my placenta encapsulated (which may sound really insane to some of you :) but as a doula I had heard about it and was interested). It is supposed to help with baby blues (which I haven't been having), mood stabilization and also boost milk production. I couldn't take them when I had the infection because for some reason they say not to. I just remembered them and need the milk boost so I started taking them, well apparently for me they have the opposite effect. So I stopped and now I feel better. At least it is an easy fix.

Daniel is an easy baby and usually very cheerful but he seems to be getting frustrated that he can't do things!! He is so alert and taking everything in but doesn't have much body control yet and it makes him MAD!! LOL. He also sleeps great! He is already in 3-6 months clothes (and will grow out of those the next growth spurt). So now I'm at the point of trying to decide if I should get rid of stuff or save it. I think he will be our last baby but for various reasons we don't use birth control and hubby isn't too excited to get snipped....and I have been through ENOUGH without another surgery so there is always the possibility of a "surprise" at some point. Such a hard decision. I think I've decided to only keep things I really love.

We went to a homeschool used curriculum sale yesterday, got some good deals! :) I bought my daughter Story of The World which I'd been eyeing for years. It is a four volume history series that reads like a chapter book and goes from beginning to present day. I was hoping she would read it herself and get a good overview-we do history memory work and some activities, projects and other studying but wanted this to give her a good overview of all the important things and to put some meat in the timeline she memorizes. She loves it!! I just bought volume 1 that I got for $5 because I wasn't sure she would like it but there was vols 2 and 3 there as well. Wondering if I should email the ladies that were selling them and ask if they still have them! LOL We also got some science books and a CD set. I want to have them listening to a book on tape or other type of narrative CD during quiet time but I need a CD player and I can't find one for anything, apparently everything is digital now. Guess I may have to invest in an ipod and speakers for school-crazy.

Well gotta finish dinner and feed the baby!! I'll try to check back soon. I hope things are looking up for all those going through hard times, you are in my prayers!!

Sabrina - I will definitely look at their website and order some things for the fall :) Is there anyway I can get a catalog - or no? I am such a "hands on" reader. What's the other company called that you are selling? What ages is the books for your daughter for? This sounds very interesting for my daughter!!

Happy Sunday!! My daughter is walking in a Family Day parade after church, and then performing a Highland Dance.

Happy Sunday ladies,
Just thought I would stop in. The porch seems a bit quiet so I think I will sit in a rocker as the teapot is getting ready.
Tomorrow one of my sons has his college orientation. The other one does in July. Yikes! I was just getting used to the idea they had graduated.
Today went to church and then we worked outside as it is a nice day. Not too hot or cool...just perfect in my book.
Peggy hope you enjoy your rest at the beach. Someday I am going to go to a beach and let my toes sink in sand and my eyes see the beautiful ocean.

Well the tea is ready for you ladies...shade daisy it is called from a local place I discovered that sold tea. It is pretty good and some chocolate chip cookies.
Yall have a great evening .
love to you all

Oh, Tammy, I'm so glad you stopped by to sit with me a spell. How'd you know I love chocolate chip cookies? I'm looking forward to tasting that tea. It's got to be good with a name like that!

All this talk about the beach sounds wonderful and I'm happy for everybody who gets to go. But, I think I'll leave the water to the rest of y'all while I sit here on the porch and read. My daddy always loved to go to the coast and, when I was a kid, we went every chance he got. Then something happened that he laughed about for the rest of his life. It didn't seem so funny to me, except when he retold the story...the other kids and I were out in the water when, all at once, I went under. All daddy could see was one foot waving in the air with a big crab latched onto my big toe...yeah, I think I like this porch.

We took the kids to the ocean and they all loved seeing it, being in it etc. but I don't blame Wanda for staying on the porch either.
The kids were amazed at how the salt crusted on their clothes and how the waves pushed them in to shore and of course, sand got in everything.lol

Wanda...that was such a funny mental visual you gave us...I'm still chuckling and I read
it last night. LOL I found a live baby shark at Retreat washed up on the shore about 8 years ago...
so my friend and I picked it up and walked out as far as we could go and thru it back into the
water. On the way out it dawned on me that if there was a baby there was a momma Shark out there too..
so we ran at break-neck speed all the way back in. LOL We stood and waited a long time to make
sure the baby didn't wash back in with the next couple of waves and It didn't.

Well, it is pouring rain today. After our almost 90 degree weekend we are only going to be in the mid
60's for the next 3 days and rainy, but then it heats back up for our beach trip. Yahoo!!!

Patsy...there is no getting away from the sand at the Beach girlfriend. Or salt for that matter. Let me
tell you...never just shave your legs and then go into the salt water...I did that once too. Not a
pleasant experience. LOL

Teacher Tammy...have you ever been to the Ocean? It is a Spiritual Experience (for me anyway) and so much fun too.
I can't wait to take Elijah out to get his feet wet and also I bought him the buckets and molds to make
an Awesome Sandcastle. But I can walk forever on The Beach...I just get lost in my own little world. The best time to go here is
in the Fall because the Pacific Ocean is really cold water up North but by Fall it has warmed up and it
is usually perfect weather. That is when I take my gals for Retreat...first week in Oct. We rented a new
(to us) bigger house this year. Sleeps 20 (and we have 16 signed up to go) with 5 bedrooms and
5 1/2 bathrooms and an elevator...so the older women don't have to climb stairs. I can wait to be with my
Bible Study Gals there. The online pictures are beautiful!!

PG Tammy...if you are lurking...I am almost finished with Sue Henry's Mystery Book "The Refuge". I have really
enjoyed this book...and will read the rest of the series.

OK girls...my DH is sick. I think he picked it up from everyone in court...Daniel and his entire set of close
friends had the worst head colds and all were at the trial. So, Larry came down with it yesterday and I am fighting
from getting it as I am not letting it stop me from some much needed RnR. I am running around behind my husband
disinfecting everything he touches. He feels like I'm stalking him t for sure. LOL

I am leaving some Carrot Cake on the Porch with a Pot of Kona Coffee and a pot of Hibiscus Tea. Enjoy!

Love and Blessings,
Peggy

Joyce-if you send me your address I'll have one of the ladies in the states get a catalog to you (it will get to you faster that way!). The other company is Norwex (cleaning products that are awesome). I have updated my signature with links if it works lol. The books are called Story Of The World, I know people who have used them with children pre-k through high school but I think they are aimed mostly at the elementary grades. They are a spine and suggest other resources to add on so it really can be adapted to any age. They also make activity guides and a test booklet to go with it but we aren't currently using those. I just want her to read it like a novel to get a good overview.

Have y'all seen this: http://www.goatdairyessay.com/home.html I think I'm going to enter. I know the chances of winning are slim and I honestly have no idea how we would make it work if we did!! But it would be fun to try. Who knows, God works in mysterious ways! Wanted to share in case any of you want to enter. If you don't I will need some people to proofread and critique my essay :). They have to get 2500 essays to do the contest.

Still working on getting my HBB stuff submitted. I went to register my business yesterday with the Germans. From what I understand I'm exempt from taxes due to my sofa status and also I probably won't make enough to have to pay anyway. So it should be ok. But now I have to wait for my tax number to come in the mail before I can turn the rest in. No idea how long that will take, mail here is very fast but I don't know how quickly they will mail it. If it doesn't come by 11 wednesday I'll have to wait until monday to turn it in. (The lady who does it gets off at 11:30 and isn't working Thursday or Friday). Oh well, can't be helped. I'm also trying to figure out who I will need to contact to offer my books to schools and libraries. Since it is the army it is super complicated!! LOL

I'm getting back on track with my days, the last couple weeks have been a mess but that is ok. I get the baby down at 8 and the older kids are either down or are playing games in their beds so I read, write and do Bible study at night. Now if I can just figure out where to fit in exercise, practicing my violin and maybe a little crafting that I haven't been doing!

Hope you are all having a good start to your week!

Peggy I have never been the ocean..I think I will just pack up and go with you :)
Yesterday one of my sons (Heath) registered for his college classes. It suddenly became very real to this mom that my sweet sons will be leaving the nest. The other son (Hunter) will register on July 1. Oh my goodness how time flies.
I am finally getting caught up with some things. We had to get a new water heater as the old one had a crack was spilling water and then we had to have a drain in our basement fixed as it was backing up. Here I thought it was the washer...but not so glad for that today things are running normal.

well I am off to change laundry, drop Jax off at the groomer, and run some errands.
Yall have a beautiful day
love and hugs,
Tammy

Wow,it must be the year for appliances to go on the fritz. We did our water heater the beginning of May and yesterday the fridge went. Got a new one coming on Thursday but...good grief, I'm afraid to turn around.
We've been having cool, wet weather again. 41 Sunday night and low 50's yesterday and low 60's today, all day.
I can hear Peg's teeth chattering at the thought of it.lol That kind of weather would make a trip to the beach quite miserable!
I've been enjoying all the treats you gals have been leaving on the porch. Thank you! My turn to leave a strawberry-rhubarb crisp and a pot of chocolate-spice tea. Enjoy!

Judy - YUMMY! I have yet to have rhubarb! And chocolate spice tea sounds delicious! We are finally getting some rain! It has been much needed! Sorry to hear about your appliances!

TLTammy - thinking about you as you adjust to this new phase of life for both your boys and for you!

Sabrina - oh I hope things work out for you with the government and your business!

Peggy - how is your hubby feeling? So glad you will be taking a mini vacation. I HATE the beach due to the sand, lol, but it sounds like you are looking forward to it.

Wanda - I must admit, I laughed as well at your story!!!

Joyce - how did the highland Dance performance go?

As far as an update here - we have a house to rent starting July 6th. It will be a long week that week trying to move. Anyone want to come help ;) We are hoping our house sells quickly, as we are worried about paying for both places, but at this point, I'd rather have my kids safe!

Glad I could give y'all a smile with my crab-toe story. I can still see my daddy laughing every time he told that story to somebody.

I'm praying for each one according to your needs. Being sort of new, it's hard for me to keep sisters and needs straight in my mind but, God knows.

I want to apologize to everyone who found their carrot cake with no icing...I couldn't help myself. But I'm leaving a platter of my chocolate fudge for y'all to nibble on, to make up for it.

Sabrina - I pm'd you my address! Fun :) I love Norwex as well :) I would look more into the books...we should play a violin duet sometime for the porchies :D
Judy..thank you so much for the crisp and tea - delish!! Funny story to add to the year of the appliances going on the fritz...I woke up one morning, turned mine on to make our Amish Oatmeal for breakfast - and it went on FIRE! It was an electrical fire -and there was blue smoke every where...it was so scary! I'm thankful my husband was a firefighter and knew what to do - poor hubby - I've never screamed so loud, but I sure am glad he jumped out of bed as quickly as he did and responded so quickly considering he was fast asleep.
Shannon - I'm thrilled you found a place - praying everything will go smoothly for you. The performance went well - she did mess up as she was looking at everyone else, so when they messed up she really lost herself and couldn't get back on track :( poor thing -she was really upset about it, but I still think she did good :)
Wanda - you're too funny! carrot cake without icing is better for you - less calories! Not that calories actually count on the porch :D

Well My Porchies...I was going to post those pictures from my Grist Mill Trip last weekend...and 3/4ths of my pictures
are missing off my computer. I blame my husband...as he has been sharing my lap top...as his bit the dust. His pictures
are on my computer but not mine. Grrr!!! That is why I don't like sharing my electronics.

Joyce...were you talking about the Micro-wave catching on fire? Now that was convenient that your hubby is a fire-fighter
because it sounds like you were just a tad bit hysterical. LOL That reminds me that we should all have small fire-extinguishers in our kitchens...that would be the smart thing to do.

Wanda...did you eat ALL the Cream cheese Frosting by yourself???? I could do that too. In fact I like the frosting on
any cake...better than I do the cake. My husband thinks I'm funny because I only eat the top of a cupcake or the top of
a muffin...because that is the best part and I really don't like the cake part. I always give it to him.

Shannon...I think hubby just has a head cold and can still function with it. But I am still stalking him...especially
when he touches stuff that I have to touch too. Poor Man!!! He is still extremely sad about his son. Our daughter
in law tried to go into see Daniel today and they wouldn't let her in because she hasn't been sentenced yet...or some
such non-sense. I know they are purposely keeping him away from his family but I just don't know why.

Linda...I'm with you girl, anything Chocolate is Great!!!

Judy...on my way to and from Spokane we stopped at The Country Mercantile just outside of The Tri-Cities and I bought
some Rhubarb and Strawberry Jam. I would have bought a pie in that combination if they would have had one. I just love
that with lots of whipped topping. Yummy! But your Crisp will do nicely and Love the Chocolate Spice Tea. Thanks!!

Teacher Tammy...enjoyed your latest blog about Your Boys!! Enjoy them this Summer Mama... and then cut those Apron strings and let them fly!!! You will find you enjoy them even more when they come home for Holidays and Summer
Vacations...dragging all their laundry with them. LOL

Well, I'm off to bed!!! Will be easy tonight as I stayed in my PJ's all day!! I did cut my hair tonight because I
didn't want to spend my Beach Trip Money on a hair cut. I am kind of hankering for some more Purple in my hair but
I think I will probably do that myself also...but not for awhile.

More Later Girlies,
Peg

After all this talk of the deliciousness of rhubarb, I have decided that next tie I see some in the store, I am going to try it! I think I might try working towards that one badge I was reading about last night... though with my horrible memory I cannot remember what it is called... but for the beginner one, you try a new organic food each week! I think it would be fun :)

Wanda - since you left chocolate fudge, I'll forgive you ;) I've never been huge on carrot cake, though my hubby enjoys it. The bet part is indeed the frosting, lol. Now chocolate fudge... as long as my piece does not have nuts, I've never found a piece I haven't enjoyed! Oh I am so glad calories do not count on th porch! Or blood glucose levels!

Joyce - the only thing we have ever had catch on fire is our oven... twice now... the first time was because the element burnt up, which was kinda neat to watch, because the fire danced around it. The second time, hubby was cooking and dripped something, which then caught on fire.... He couldn't find the baking soda or flour, so he threw salt on it! Mind you, we buy celtic sea salt! That turned into an EXPENSIVE fire with all the salt he threw on it, lol. Anyways, I am so glad your daughter did so well - though I hate that she was disappointed! Sounds like she may be her biggest critic!

Peggy - I had to laugh about your hubby stealing your computer, as I have stolen my hubby's! Apparently my hard drive died, so I packages up my computer and shipped it to my brother who is fixing it for me! Until I get it back, I constantly use my hubby's... Though I admit, I will not download my pictures on his computer but rather am saving them for mine. :) It doesn't make sense why they are determined to keep family away from Daniel! Unless they are trying to "break him" to make him turn against family... perhaps tell him that no one tried to come see him, or something crazy like that, so he gets upset and goes along with their stupid lies? Sorry - I have a pretty low opinion of police and our law system right now... Which is kinda funny as my BIL and 2 of my cousins-in-law are police officers... but not in this state.

Well today I plan to just chill and try to get more packed. I am almost out of boxes though! It started raining yesterday, which thrilled us, and has yet to stop for very long! Our garden desperately needed the rain! Later this week I am hoping to make some mint jelly as my mint is taking over both my herb and my veggie garden! It started in a pot, but will not stay there! Also hoping to get some puzzles put together. We are trying to make sure we have all the pieces to our puzzles before packing them and taking them with us, but there are some that are taking FOREVER to put together! There are two we have been working on for days... they are only 500 pieces each, but the pictures are so detailed with the same colors throughout, that they are incredibly difficult! All the others we have gotten done fairly quickly up to this point! I think I have about 6 others to check after these two are done!

Peggy - I am proud to say I did not eat all of the icing by myself...a couple folks got to the cake before I did.

Shannon - No nuts. I've been blessed with fudge-fame for most of my life and I never put nuts in it. It's Fudge...All Fudge and...Nothin' but Fudge. Eat up, no calories.

I am happy to report i do NOT have gestational diabetes:) Getting that news made the three hour test worth it.... errr maybe ;) Anyways, been super busy today... I have downstairs pretty much cleaned and organized. About to tackle the boys' room. Oh my - probably the messiest room in the house! We are still getting thunderstorms - LOVE it!

his side in the dispute!!! LOL

Going over today to give my little guy his first hair cut. All his long curls are going

hey ladies,
just hopping on here before lunch. It is a rainy day here but that is ok. We can use the rain. I am hoping to get my walk in later if the rain gives a break. The sky this morning was such a beautiful color. I was in awe. No I did not take a picture. I didn't think of it...must have been because I had not had my morning tea.

I have been enjoying the days with a little lax in my schedule. My flowers are coming along and I am enjoying playing in the dirt. Not that I have a green thumb but I do have fun.

Peggy I had to chuckle about some purple in your hair. I think it will look beautiful but of course that is my favorite color.

Judy hope you get that new fridge. How is Patsy doing? Had her on my mind.

Shannon so glad you have a house and that your test went well. I will pray your other house sells quickly.

well my tummy is telling me it is lunch time so off I go.
Yall have a merry day.
love to you all
