Just realized Saturday is June 1st! So sorry for tea being late, but it is coming! Bear with me.

Hi My Porchies...

I was on here last night and went one by one and addressed everyone...and told that we still have no baby...he must really
like where he is. Anyway...I typed my whole long response on "Sticky Notes" and when I copied it to post...it went "POOF" on
the very last word and deleted the whole thing. I was so mad...I hit my computer a good one and went to bed. Sooooo
Frustrated. But not going to repeat it all. Sorry!!

The kids went to the Hospital two nights ago...but got sent home/ false labor. Her contractions were two minutes apart but
never caused further dilation. Then they just petered out completely after four hours.

OK...just wanted to let you know I'm still here. Not off wandering the Hillsides or anything. More Later!

Hugs,
Peggy

PeggyAnn,

Tell her to go out and start walking for awhile. That is what my girlfriend said to me when that happen. We walked for about 4 hours around the neighbor and before you know it my contractions came back and this time after about 7 hours my daughter was born. Hope to hear the sweet sound of it's here.

hello ladies,
It was a busy day here. I planted my herbs in some beautiful pots for my back patio. Hubby and I made plans for flowers for the rest of the yard. Had to put mower in shop and my lawn looks like a jungle...It felt good to play in the dirt. I was to our garden store and found the cutest garden hats. The lady has offered to make me one with purple and butterflies. I get to pick it up next week. I love hats.

I am off to have some tea and snack and just put my feet up.
love to you all

Afternoon, ladies. Just checking in real quick to wish everyone a happy Memorial Day and to ask for a few quick "good luck" wishes and prayers. I put in an application for a job at a town nearby. I won't say much, other than it would be in Criminal Justice which is a field I've always loved and wanted to be in. I'll keep you updated!

Happy Memorial Day everybody! One thing I've noticed this year especially since I'm working at W*marts is how many people around here put things on graves. Everything from flowers and flags to solar lights. You'd hardly ever see a grave decorated in Metro Detroit. Sadly the pet cemetery I worked at probably had more decorated sites then the human cemetery did. It's really nice to see although several said they weren't spending what they typically would because people were stealing stuff off the graves at the cemetery. I can remember my grandma and Aunt Mitzi taking me with them all over Indiana to put flowers on grave sites.

Looks like my bike riding will be put off for quite a while. Forecast is now showing rain every day for the next week :O(

Miranda - How I envy you. If I wasn't pushing the 50 mark I would seriously consider going into forensic science or some type of criminal justice position.

Just submitted my application online for the job in California. I'm a bit scared. I have 4 cats and no prospects for living arrangements as yet. I know if it is meant to be it will come together. Just don't see it right now.

Miranda, sending positive thoughts your way for your job. Tammy you too. Have you heard from the hospital yet?

He's finally here. Let me introduce you to Elijah Rainn Smith. He was born at 3:10 pm On This Memorial Day after 24 hours
of Labor. He was liken his little Palace...a little bit too much. Didn't want to come out. We have two worn out parents...
and two worn out Grandma's but we are ALL Happy! He was only 6 lbs 13 oz and 19 inches long. Pretty Small for what we usually
have in our families but perfect for Sadie as she is a little petite thing. He is a little Charmer and has stolen this
Granmama's heart already. He gripped onto my finger today and wasn't going to let go for anything...and I was over the Moon.

OK...read all the news...praying for all the jobs and NOW I get to finally crash after no sleep for 2 days.

Love and Hugs,
Peggy

PeggyAnn - Congratulations!!!! Beautiful little fellow. I bet you're so happy he's finally here.

Bunny - Yes, I have heard back. I received an email yesterday. I have the interview Thursday morning. I just worry with it being a state government position that there's probably somebody they already have picked out for the position but have to go through the motion of making it looked like they did it fairly. I know that happened all the time with military government positions back in Michigan. The pay would be awesome as it would bring me much closer to what I was making before I moved here. If it's meant to be it will be. My manager I'm working under now really likes me and keeps telling me how happy they are to have me working there. She told me Sunday that if there's any way she can make me permanent she will get it for me. Not to be snobbish but I've never considered working retail a "career" for myself. I've got to see if I can wrap my mind around it. The pay is quite a bit lower then I'm use to making which is a concern and M* is already griping about my constantly changing hours. This week most nights I work until 8 or 9 and he's griping that I'll only be home one night for supper if I don't eat with him after getting off work. Even if they look at me for some type of management I'm not sure I'd want it. My manager and supervisor frequently work 12+ hour days and I know I don't want to be working that many hours a day. Decisions, decisions.

Sunny and foggy this morning. Possible chance of rain so no riding my bike to work. Still haven't gotten my basket put on it yet so I need to work on getting that done so once we do get some nice weather I'll have some place to put my purse while riding. Well I'm off to get my lunch packed for work. Have a great day everybody!

Tammy, I hope your interview goes well. And you can tell M he can switch places with you anytime or you would even be happy to quit if he wants.

I applied for a second position last night. The college is hiring an accounting specialist. Seeing as how they have me in the catalog and my accounting instructor is one of my recommendations ....and I have been getting A's and B's in my classes, I think they should just hire me. It would give me an opportunity to save almost $1000 a month. That way when a job in California comes up next time, I'll have the money to do it. If I get the job in California, it will be by the skin of my checkbook to pull it off.

Peggy!!! So glad little Elijah decided to join everyone. Sorry to say but new parents are going to be tired for some time to come. Glad he is healthy! Congratulations.

Well Elijah it is so nice of you to finely join our world. Peggy he is adorable. I have no grandchildren as of yet, maybe one day.

Bunny hang in there and God will provide your needs of the right job.

Tammy I pray that the right door will open for you and it is your heart's desire. Hang in there and I have you in my prayers.

Just finished the kitchen cabinets and have a terrible headache from the paint fumes. Need to take a break before I begin the painting of the walls. So close to having this job complete. I think I want to go back to school. I never worked this hard. Been out of school only 27 days and I am sore and tired. But I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. (Or maybe its just my imagination as I have inhaled quite a bit of paint fumes these last two days. Oil paint is the hardest to work with. Well off to get a bite to eat before I tacked the walls in the kitchen.

Enjoy today and I'll join you later for a cup of tea.

Welcome sweet baby! Oh not good for me to see pictures of little newborns, just makes me want more!!!!! :) So happy for the family.

Hope all the job interviews go well. It's hard to wait when you just want things settled. But like you have all been saying, If it's meant to be it will be.

I'm looking into making an offer on my Asuna house. Pray please. I know God is in control and if He wants me there it will work out. All I can do is take steps and wait for doors to open or close.

I'm doing the job thing too. :) Yesterday I called a lady that some folks told me I should contact. I told her I used to be an accounting tech and she knows my situation (we attend the same church). I was painfully honest. I've been out of it for over a decade, I'm rusty, I don't know WA laws, taxes etc so I would want to work under someone so that I could learn it all and get back in the groove. I also let her know that I wanted to work from home because I want to continue being a stay at home, homeschooling momma. So pretty much I made myself almost impossible to hire!!!!! But God is SO good. I'm in AWE of my LORD. When I called her I said that several people had said she was the one to talk to. I explained everything. I admitted that I used to be good but it's been a long time and with my situation my confidence is trashed and I need to build it back up. I explained how I worked and where I had worked and what I had done. And then I sat back and waited for her to tell me I was a hopeless case. And her words to me were that she was the one I needed to contact. That she worked the same way I did. That she worked from home and such so that she could be there for her children when they were home and that she now had her daughter working for her so that she could be a stay at home mom too. She didn't promise me a job but she sure left it with the idea that she wanted to hire me. She let me know that she's been turning down work because she is at her limit and that really good bookkeepers are desperately needed in this area. I was concerned about what kind of money I could make. Back home in the oilfield I could walk into a job that pays $25/hour and I didn't know what it would be like here. She said once I'd proven that I was efficient and good I could be making that much. Isn't God amazing???? I had told her when I called that I was sticking my toes out getting a feel, trying to find out where God wanted me. Would a door open or would my toes get stomped on? I kind of feel like a door cracked open. Nothing is finalized or promised but it just gives me hope. God will not forsake me and my children. He is going to provide as I step out in faith and even if it's hard and even if I'm grieving and in agony He is going to take me through it all and when I come out on the other side my faith will be stronger and I'll be just a little bit more the woman He wants me to be.

Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories

Tammy,
Don't lose heart. Go to that interview with confidence. It's true with gov't jobs that they sometimes already have someone picked out but I was chosen for a job after they interviewed me even though they had another favorite. It can happen for you.
Best of luck,

Peggy - Congrats on your beautiful bundle of joy. He is beautiful and I love his name. Happy dance, Happy dance! Oh, I
just threw my back out! LOL!

Christen - What a beautiful baby. So happy for you.

Job seeking sisters I hope you all get a job you love. Put it in God's hands and know he always does what is right for us.

I wasn't going to have a garden this year but Hubby made raised beds so we went and got some plants. I only planted tomatoes
so far. I had to sit on a stool to do it but I did it! It's been so cold here but it's supposed to warm up later this week.
Then the rest will get planted.

I made orange zucchini muffins so help yourself. Also here's some chili and homemade onion bread. First time I made the bread
and it is really good.

Judy, prayers for your Mama.

Terri, While I was going through chemo my sister got me the Jesus Calling daily devotional and I just love it. I have a
one year Bible that I read also as well as a few other devotionals. The Jesus Calling Bible is really beautiful. It is
the NKJV. Easier to read than the KJV. Do you know Max Lucado? His daily devotional is good too. I get his show on TBN and
love it. He is so soft spoken and down to earth.

Love to you all.
