Okay, so I know a bunch of us bought this new novel over the 4th. I haven't cracked it open yet, but I've heard some really good whispers about it already at the different stores along the BBB route that carry it. I've never been a book-club member, and not sure how that goes, but I would sure like to join a conversation with others who are also reading/about to read it.
How many of you picked the novel up this weekend? :)

I actually had it. And I started reading it on the plane out to Washington, and read it every night prior to falling asleep. I really enjoyed it, to the point of reading it entirely during my trip to BBB!

Did you say it is new? Is it only in hardback and expensive? I need a new novel to read and would love to join a read-along with ya. I'm going to your blog right now to see what you said about it.

It's in paperback and I think I paid around 12 for it. You can order it autographed from her website or from amazon.com.

Rene was kind enough to send me this link. I hope you all are enjoying SUMMER SNOW. When you are done reading, if you would like a Q&A, I would be more than happy to do so on the Forum.
Best,

Summer Snow is an easy read; but difficult to put down once started. The characters are so real. Amy's writing really put me in the story. Looking forward to your next book Amy!

I'm glad I read it. I try to support local authors and I'm always interested in what they produce. It was very well written. I don't usually read this sort of novel, and it was a bit uncomfortable in places. Silly me, I guess I could have skipped reading the steamy bits, but the teacher in me didn't let me consider skipping any of it. I won't be putting it on the shelf in my classroom. Just a bit too steamy, or I'm a bit too old fashioned. If those bits weren't there, I'd recommend it to my students. As it is, I'd feel awkward. I suppose they read steamier stuff on their own, but it is different if your teacher recommends something...that is one chat in the office I don't want to have.
I enjoyed the way it asked me to consider some issues women face in a small town. What is right, how to be yourself bravely, and how easy it is to get sucked into destructive gossip, how important to fight it.

Thanks everyone for your "reviews".![](icons/icon_smile.gif)
Michelle, thanks for the heads up about the "steamy" parts. It's good to know I shouldn't pass this one on to my Grandma. She gets quite upset about even the slightest "steam", she calls it smut and throws the book in the trash.![](icons/icon_smile_wink.gif)

Oh, isn't that too bad? It's funny, because that reaction reminds me of a character in the book. :) If she could just skip those parts? Oh, what if you just put sticky notes over those parts and tell her not to take them out, but read the rest? Does she have enough of a sense of humor to go for that? Because I really liked the rest of it, it was worth reading. :)
