What about Kombucha that has the mother and becomes ACV if you let it go too long? Anyone know if it has all the same properties?

Wish I could stay home more to be a fulltime homestead wife/mom....SOMEDAY! Part time will have to do for now!

I try and use apple cider vinger once a day in water, I have a freind that mixes water and apple cider vinger in a squirt bottle net to her stove and she says she squirts the plate before she puts food on it and squirts the top of her food everyday, she is older and she has been doing this for years she says. Also she says that if she backs off she can always tell by the tops of her hads, she says they look dry and that is the que to get going on the apple cider vinger alittle more.
I love all the apple cider vinger tips.

I use it for warts. My son had 3 on his foot and the over the counter wart remover wasn't working. I found that if you put a few drops of cider vinegar on a cotton ball, place it on the wart and put a bandaid on it overnight... the wart will turn black and dry up and fall off. We went weeks with the OTC stuff and the vinegar just took days.

One thing to note - you can buy apple cider vinegar and apple cider FLAVORED vinegar in the stores. The flavored variety is not vinegar made from apples, but from corn and does not have the same health benefits.

Kombucha can not become apple cider vinegar as it is usually made with black tea or other teas and not from apples. Kombucha has it's own health benefits.

IF you have trouble with yeast infections, ACV is the thing. My Granny would do 2 tablespoons of ACV and 1 Teaspoon of honey and enough water to get it down. This has helped with my weight. This helped with cleansing my blood. And hundreds of things. But if you have trouble with yeast infections I have a great recipe for that. I love the stuff. But make sure you dont do the vinegar we do the eggs in.

It is great for urinary tract infections, or even urinary burning even if the culture comes back "normal". 2 tablespoons in hot water with 2 tbsp honey and the juice of half a lemon. Add a little more honey if it's too bitter for you. It really does work. I actually like the taste.

Want to see how to make apple cider vinegar? We have a DVD that we made that shares the skills for making it at home. It is very easy.
We are a young family with 5 children that we homeschool. We have created a DVD series that deals with the self sufficient lifestyle. We cover topics from milking a cow, making all your home dairy products, raised bed gardening, canning, butchering livestock and canning the meat, making homemade noodles, healthy breads, sprouting, root cellaring, making your own vitamins cheaply, maple syrup production, and much more. We learned much of what we know from our Amish friends who have been teaching us for about 10 years now. We make it fun, interesting, and attainable for your average person. It portrays my husband and I along with our children who are 11 and under. Many times the children are helping alongside, or teaching some skills as well which makes it fun for people young and old. Our country is headed for some very hard times so it is very needful for people to learn these lost skills and pass them on to the future generations. To see a trailer of our first DVD go to this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n25yByJ49c0

I drink it in a glass of water (apple cider vinegar, organic, with mother, with 1 tsp of raw honey) 2-3 times a day . I started doing it when we started going to the gym. It's good for digestion, headaches, depression, your scalp and hair and a lot more. I found out my grandmother used to drink it every day too.

I'm very excited to try this myself. Just wondering about the ratios...... 1 tso of Apple cider vinegar and 1 tsp of honey and how much water? I have a large bottle of Apple cider vinegar and very excited to get started taking my own daily dose of apple cider vinegar.

My other question is storage.....the bottle is just stored at room temperature?

I like that you can drink the apple cider vinegar cold or hot. Does anyone have a favorite hot recipe they enjoy?

I have been having a problem with my fingers cracking even though I drink a bunch of water and use organic hand creams, and gentle dish soap. After reading some of the tips here I remember my great grandma saying she used ACV to soften her hands after gardening. I am going to try it and see if it helps heal my finger tips. I can't stand how bad my finger tips are and nothing works. I will update if the ACV helps or not!

I hope this inspires some of you to make herbal vinegars! They taste so good and give you an extra vitamin and mineral boost!

Thanks, Chives! Apple cider vinegar. Sometimes I use pasteurized, most times unpasteurized. If I make an herbal vinegar with unpasteurized, I keep it in the fridge.

Suzanne: My great-grandma used to tell me that was the best thing for a head cold! I haven't gotten sick this year but last year I had this awful headcold, I used that exact same thing and it helped sooo much! It's also relaxing and soothing before bed!

Another very effective use for ACV is to put it in a pot, and slowly simmer all day. When you or anyone in your home have a cold, the vapors help immensely! It calls caught, headaches, and helps clear a stuffy nose. Bonus, ACV is a natural antiseptic so it gently cleans surfaces around the house that ill family members have touched. It works wonders.
Glad your pain and swelling is gone. It's so hard to function when you're unwell, and a bit un-nerving if you don't know what is wrong. Take care and God bless.

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

ACV is also good for your chickens, it regulates their system & gets rid of any gut worms they may have. use 1 capful per gallon of water. This should be done everyday. My duck also likes it so I am sure its doing something good for him as well! Michele' #2622

It is healthful in many ways. Its also great for gallblader trouble i just learned. Try mixing it with a little honey to make it go down a little easier.
