I'm pretty sure almost al of ya'll have heard of Sisters on the Fly....but what about FarmGirls on the Loose???????? LOL....Please don't think I'm cheezy, but I have been dreaming this up for about 6 weeks now.....Now that I have by beautiful little vintage travel trailer (well, she will BE beautiful when I'm done with her!), I can put my plans in motion for Farmgirls on the Loose....I think it would be cool to have a happy campin' group of farmgirls that have get togethers in different locations every month (or quarter) for alot of camping out, cooking, junkin', what have you....but here's the kicker....I'd love for it to serve a good purpose!!! Where ever the location of the get together is....(closest town or community)...wouldn't it be great if we were to go to the local food bank and donate food? Each Farmgirl could bring a box....or donate all of our "non stylish", or "outgrown" or "just don't wear anymore" clothes the the towns local battered womens shelter.....Or make quilts and blankets (or just donate from our own cabinets)for the local homeless shelter...or in summer when our gardens are overflowing and we have more produce than we can use, donate it to the local WIC program........or volunteer on a saturday morning to help with a local animal shelter pet adoption days?.....or stay in a national forest campground and volunteer hike and pick up trash along trails and take it to the local recyle center?....See where I'm going with this???? And doing these things really wouldn't take much of our time...and we'd still have plenty of time left in the weekend to just relax and "FarmGirl" around!! I couldn't believe it...lol...but my hubby actually thought it was a great idea, and totally supports me!!...Now, I'm not trying to copy any other group or organization here, believe me,,,,I just thought that since I don't live out west near most of the other "vintage trailer" groups, that I could get one started around here...but with a different purpose to it, ya know? What do ya'll think....Could I even call it "FarmGirls on the Loose"? Because I think that is an awesome name!!! Who knows....maybe it would spread like wildfire!!!! Like I said, just been dreaming about for about 6 weeks or so, and like to see if there would be any feedback!....thanks for reading!! Kelley

Wow ya'll....thanks so much for the feedback! hey Cheryl, I tent camp, too. We have a wall tent and a Tipi, and I must admit, nothing compares to that kind of camping...but I also like the idea of just hooking up to my "tent" then simply opening the door and windows and I'm done! Tipi and wall tent are a little more labor intensive...lol. MaryJane - as far as signing up goes...ummmmmmm.....ummmmmmmm.....I don't know yet....lol! But trust me, I'll get it all figured out and put together!!! Now...if only there were some Farmgirls here locally to help me get it going! Well, actually there ARE some farmgirls here locally..(I Hope)...Just have to "Round "Em Up!!" But I'm glad to know that the general idea is supported!!!! That makes me very happy!! Thanks so much ya'll.....Kelley

I think this is a fabulous idea!!!!!Kelley, I'm not close to you, but would be willing to coordinate a trip this summer in Wyoming/Utah/Idaho if anyone is interested. I have a vintage trailer and it is just not getting the use it deserves. What do you think? Calling all Wanna be Loose Intermountain West Farmgirls!

Fun, Fun, Fun....we have a friend that has a cabin up on the continental divide in WY...Ever heard of Battle or Encampmet, WY?? Near there...we took the kids and stayed there last summer a had a blast and told ourselves we were gonna try to make it an annual trip, we also said the same thing 5 years ago...but I got too busy having babies for the 3 years following that first trip....LOL...needless to say, we were a little busy!!! Anyhow....sounds like fun....I'm still praying I get to Go to the BBB in July, and hope to be able to afford it now that I have a new "baby" to fix up!!! I think The "FarmGirls on the Loose" thing could be awesome if there is enough interest!!! You know....groups of us all over the country!!! Wouldn't that be AWESOME???? But heck yeah....If our finances allow it....I'd be more than willing to come that way this summer!!!! Do you have any other friends with campers that would like the idea of Farmgirls on the Loose???? Let me know!! Kelley

I have heard of and have been to Encampment and it is very pretty over there. That is a definite possiblity. Another possiblity is in the center of Wyoming, say near Casper, it would be central for Montana, Idaho, Utah,Nebraska, South Dakota and Colorado. There is a Reservoir called Alcova near Casper that might be fun. I haven't been there, but will check it out. Also, there are many nice Forest Service Campgrounds around the Evanston area, such a Mirror Lake, which is absolutely gorgeous.

I know that there are lots of girls that would like the idea. Maybe we could include tent campers, tents, come as you are type campers, too. I love the idea of making it a philanthropic organization. Btw, what is the BBB in July? Did I miss a memo?

Hey Sherone, oooohhh yeah, it would definately be open to come as you are's and tent campers, I would never want to put a limit to it such a you "must have vintage trailer" to participate!! When I say BBB, i am referring to MJF Farm fair 4th of July weekend!!! I want to go soooo badly...Just hoping that The "SqueezeYerButt" Inn doesn't drain us of too much money!! Hahaha....I like her name!!! My SUPER FUNNY FIL came up with it!!! LOL....Pretty cute, huh? My only problem down here is I don't know anyone....just moved, haven't made a sinle girlfriend yet, there are no active FGC in this area.....am a stay at home mom who doesn't have many outlets for meeting gals....so I hve a TON of work ahead of me just to even get a small group together....but am STILL soooo excited about it! Cool, Cool....keep in touch with me and lets keep the idea rolling!! Kelley....oh yeah...how on earth do i post pick off of Photobucket on a post on here??? I have yet to figure it out!!!! LOL

Farmgirls on the Loose is a great idea! Hmm, that means I would have to camp. My one night in a tent last October may not qualify me as a camper! lol

Hey Kelly, you "squeezeyerbutt" Inn is toooo cute! Is she an Aljo 16' ft.???
My Gracie Girl is in the middle of a 'face lift' as we speak. I (& my DH)are trying to get her ready for my June outting with my Washington Sisters-Sisters on the Fly...I sold my 13' Twinkie trailer to buy this one.
I am always happy to meet up w/sisters and some 'farmgirls on the loose' up here in the Pacific North West...

Hi Kelly! I am a member of Sisters on the Fly (lots of trailer pictures on my blog). Did you know that Texas has one of the biggest memberships of Sisters on the Fly?!!!! Texas is #3 out of all the US States. #1 is AZ & #2 is CA. I bet you have some sisters in your very own neighborhood. Some of my very favorites live in TX! Anyhoo, your idea is great and playing, traveling with our little trailers is a blast! Can't wait to see pictures of yours!

Hugs,
Maryjane Lee

That sounds like an awesome idea!!! I am dying for one of those little trailers!

Kelley, I grew up in Sulphur Springs (first 7 years) and my favorite memory is swimming in Winnsboro lake! Sigh...I do miss Texas!

I have an 1980 24 ft motorhome, class c, I want to come and play too. My son borrowed it, ran it dry of oil, and now it is in the shop, may need a new motor, but he will pay for it, so I can get on the road. My sister and and I would like to make the BBB in July,, if my 90 yr and 87 yr old parents are still in good health. Please, let us come and play too.

Be good to yourself and be good to this earth.

oh yes!! Anyone can come play, you don't have to own a vintage travel trailer, you don't even have to own a camper....you can have a tent or pop up or just come along with someone else! Judy, you're in CA, maybe you can get a group of gals together in your area and take off with the idea!!! I think it will be a great thing, especially if there are groups of us all over, helping out everwhere any of us go!!!!

Hey Judy, there is a handful of gals in Bakersfield that are members of Sisters on the Fly....
I miss Calif. I use to stop in Bakersfield, exit at White for a potty break, coffee & burger @ McDonalds on my way up to Fresno...

Hey Ya'll...maryJane Lee....I didn't know there were so many "Sisters" here in Texas...I may have to look into that more....It would be awesome if there were some gals in my neighborhood, since there doesn't seem to be any active farmgirls around here....Where would I begin to look for the sisters on the fly near me?

Jinia...I was born and raised in Navasota Tx and came to East Texas Via Oklahoma, but we live just down the road from Lake Winnsboro....hey, you moving back anytime soo?....lol....I can't seem to find any farmgirls around here,....well I take that back, I have found one that was not active for a while, but is now posting on here again, but haven't had any response from hr yet.....I'm just patiently waiting!!!
