Hi all! I am trying to decide between an Ashford Traveller and a Kromski Mazurka (or Minstrel) spinning wheels...does anyone on here have experience with either? I'm not considering other brands/styles for two reasons...the most important is that I like the old-fashioned look of these. The lesser reason is that I like the castle style (and I have a very small house) so I'm not even considering the other styles of these brands. Any advice, pointers, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I'm spinning on a drop spindle and while it's fun, I have a pound and a half of fiber that I'm anxious to spin up so I can knit with it and patience isn't my greatest virtue! LOL!! Thanks!!
I have three Ashfords and love love love them..... I have also spun on the Kromski but would stick with my Ashfords. I also have two electric and also a Babe wheel. As I tell my students you have to sit in front of the wheel and spin - the height, pedal locations and my biggest complaint about most wheels is the difficulty in getting the bobbins on and off - really bugs me - that is why I love my Ashford Joy - really easy to work with, travels with not problems, weight nothing and does everthing. I also must tell you I represent no wheel makers. For the past 13 years my Ashford Joy and I are best buds..
Good luck and happy spinning.
