Simply satisfied although clear is more of a reminder to me that the simpler things do in fact make me happier. I am goal oriented, ridiculously so sometimes. I always over achieve and have always thought my career was the most important thing. Well two amazing girls and a wonderful husband have shown my stubborn work ethic that home is even more important. I am still surprised but only a few weeks ago I drastically cut back at work and have simplified what I must accomplish in one day. What I have found is at homeI accomplish even more and love it. My attitude shows it too. Just yesterday I was dealing with yete another mess I didn't make and while cleaning I realized I was doing it with a happy heart instead of a crabby one. What a different person I can be. The same person I was when I wasn't over taxed. Simply satisfied is fast becoming a critical motto for me to remember.

I feel so silly because I just used my name! But my "signature" always includes my blog name which is "My Field Days".

My husband and I run a construction company, and we did a little play on our name and our lifestyle and named it Field Day, Inc. We love it. Lots of people greet us with "Hey, Field Day!" Or say things like, "There they are.. having a field day!"

(And I have loved reading about all these screen names!!!)

Love writing about "My Field Days"

Until page 6 I didn't even realize this is an old thread so most folks I'm "talking" to may not ever look in here, lol!

So I'll tell my story first which is easy - I have an indoor pet rabbit named Oggie. He was my daughter's in college and when she moved she couldn't take him and begged us to and of course, we did. He's a cute little mini-lop who has a carpet trail through out the house so he can run free. He doesn't like wood, tile, or laminate so he only runs on carpet which is good, he can't chew anything we don't want him to chew! He gave me the idea to start The Dew Hop Inn which is where I sell treats to other bunny owners.

I also have a trademarked name called Cybertiques because I sell antiques and back in 1993 I started selling them online and took that name. My Dad loved it and paid to trademark it for me so I would "always be able to make money". :>) So every where else on line I'm cybertiques. A few people try to use it but if it's not Cybertiques from Machias Maine, it's a thief!

Allison - I really like how you found your name on here. You thought a lot about it.

Melissa - I love your story! Grandmothers are so cool!

Jess - I think Messie Jessie is very endearing!

Margaret - too bad most folks don't know the "Maine accent", lol! Where do you live in Maine?
I live in Machias.

Cheryl - I love Tapestry. It is a perfect name as we are all tapestries if you think about it.

Deana - That is beautiful! I am sure you are taking good care of her. What love!

Connie - I should have used my trademark business name, Cybertiques, but regretfully didn't. Wish I could change it

Sarah - That's wonderful he does that every morning!

Paula - that is too funny!

Mine is pretty simple compared to all the above I've been reading
and enjoying.

Our family enjoys all the hummingbirds we see at our feeders
and in the cedar trees in our yard. We get to enjoy them year
round as well as their habits, markings and friends they bring
along with them. They truly are a "joy" to watch.

I have a degree in plant science and am nuts about growing them, talking about them, looking at them....ok...maybe I am half plant! Also my favorite actor is Steve Martin and he always used to say he was a "wild and carazy guy!" so that is were I got the spelling for the last part.

Our 2nd DGD was born 20 yrs ago on Thanksgiving day. She was fine until birth, and was delivered with multiple health issues. Amandalena came back to Iowa and live with us until she passed away at 15 mos. (loooong story). I have planted forget-me-nots every year in her memory. We built Amandalena's rock garden (a shade garden) in her memory. (throwing those rocks into place was cathartic for me). She is never far from my heart. We all learned alot from Precious.

Well I love art so it was natural for me to just go with darlenelovesart, even if it is long. It is me. It was the easiest thing for me.

I chose mine because the first tractor my grandpa ever bought was a 1941 Farmall M. He put my mother, my step-father, my brother and me through college with the help of that tractor (and a few others). For that I am grateful. And I love my CHICKens.

PS He still has that tractor and my husband bought me one too!

I chose my screen name Fiddlehead Farm partly because I like the sound of it! I do grow a lot of ferns in my shade gardens and I have a double lot in the city that is home to my vegetable gardens, raspberry and blueberry bushes and my apple and cherry trees. I also used to paint murals and furniture for a living and ferns were one of my most popular embellishments.

I picked my screen name because my name is Ruth Ann. My grandma called me ruthie and my birthday is 218 so that's how I came up with ruthie218.

Mine is Penny Henny after Henny Penny. When I was a little girl I would retell the story to my dolls but the dyslexic in me would always say Penny Henny Penny Henny instead of the other way around so it stuck and when I started to read my girls bedtime stories I would still say it that way. :)

From the poem of the same name, by Paul Gallico:

Misery's Fence
There is a hole in Misery's fence.
They cannot shut you in
And they cannot shut you out
When you are nothing,
Or nobody;
Lost,
Sick,
Sore,
Or hungry;
Frightened, homeless, hopeless,
It really doesn't matter
Which side you're on
Does it?

Miz

And in the end,
The love you take
Is equal to
The love you make.
