It has been a dark, snowy day - again. So far only 2 inches but it's coming down heavy now. I am not looking forward to moving more snow....

Sorry your morning was so difficult, Grace. Thank goodness it all turned out ok. I have all the animals squared away for the day so I am on to making Christmas bathrobes for my Grand kids.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Blessings, Sheri

Thanks Sheri - Hansel is doing better - I did wellness checks on everyone at two hour intervels - means not a whole lot got done. I did give Hansel some baby asprin and for me several Advils...

Bathrobes sound like a great idea. Mine finally bit the dust, heck is was only about 16 years old. I have the fabric just not the mood. What pattern are you making them with???

Hope you do not get too much snow - moving it is a pain especially if you have wind help. Stay safe and warm.

Grace, So glad to hear that all the boys are well! I will continue to keep you in my prayers and I could not agree with you more on being glad that November is over! It has been non-stop this month with Gary having two surgeries, the tranny on the truck is going out, my computer is acting up, not one sale at either shop this month not to count that we are still waiting to move in and I have been doing double duties on chores! I even cut firewood yesterday, which was a first for me with Gary's big chop saw! The one great thing of this month was my mom's birthday today! I am glad it's over and praying for a better December!

Good morning!
I saw this on facebook this morning and thought of all my beautiful friends here on MJ:
She can deal with stress and carry heavy burdens. She smiles when she feels
like screaming, and she sings when she feels like crying. She cries
when she's happy and laughs when she's afraid. Her love is unconditional. There's only one thing wrong with her. She forgets what
...she's worth! Pass this to every beautiful woman you know.

Have a great and blessed day.

Happy Farming!

Hello all. My dog rousted me at 4:00 am due to a power outage (makes my battery back up on the computer make a high pitch alarm) which freaks him out big time. He refused to calm down so I just got up as it was useless to try to go back to sleep. At least the outage didn't last very long. We got about 7.5 inches of snow which finally quit falling about 20 min. ago. Now it's time to gear up to start digging out again as soon as it gets light enough to see. Nothing like slogging through fresh snow in my jammies to clean off the satallite dish so I could see the news. We officially have broken the record for the snowiest November in 100 years. I am not looking forward to more digging....

Hope everyone has a great day.

Blessings, Sheri

Grace, what a morning! Hope you get that old coyote soon.
Sheri, I am glad you have your friend there, take it easy shoveling out. It looks like another storm is coming your way. Glad you were not without power very long.
Monica, hopefully December will be better for you. Gary should be more healthy soon and hopefully things will get better soon.
Brenda, the little dap of snow we got was really pretty yesterday but glad it didn't accumulate... I know it is waiting until your friend arrives.
(smile)
Lori, are you about ready for the show?
I came home from our trip to columbia yesterday aching and chilling. Woke up to diarrhea and stomach pains. Danny did chores today for me. I am going to take some more meds and go to bed in just a little while.
God bless

Sarita, so sorry you're not feeling well. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Grace, That's amazing. I hear coyotes all the time, and Greg has seen a couple, but I have yet to see one on our property.
Ladies, I have finished skirting my first fleece! It was not near as bad as I thought it would be. I found it easier to pull the wool out of the burrs than to pull the burrs out of the wool, if that makes sense. Now to wash it, and decide what to do with it.

Brenda, What a beautiful saying!! Thank you for sharing it!

Sheri, I hope the snow lets up on you!!Stay warm!

Sarita, I pray you are better quickly!

Grace, Hope all is well for the first day of December!

Today has been pretty good for the beginning of December! I am excited because my mom has two dolls just like American Girl Dolls that she is sending me for the girls for Christmas and I am going to make extra outfits for them! Hannah and Olivia have been asking to get them and they are so expensive! $100.00 a doll! Even if I had the $$ I would not spend it on dolls! I am also excited because I am going to teach the girls to sew! We all went to the market today and it went relatively smooth when you are trying to shop with 4 children and can't find what you are looking for! Yes I said 4 children!! Gary was acting as silly as the kids some of the time especially since he decided to use one of the motorized carts since he is still walking with a cane! See Grace, at any age boys will be boys!! Gary is going to talk to Steve tomorrow so we may have some idea where to decorate for Christmas and then again maybe not! Praise God life is grand!!
Hope everyone stays warm and well tonight! Sweet Dreams!

Hi there ladies - I can't believe it is evening already.. Oh, Monica how well I know that boys never outgrow their silly ways even if they only have two legs. WOW splitting wood - sounds like work but great for the upper body - see no gym fees... Hope you will hear a good word about location.

Sounds horrible Sarita - hope you will be well soon. I know those bugs out there are trying to get us so hope you kick your to the curb soon. Wonderful that you have someone to step in and help with the chores. Take care of yourself.

Glad to hear Brenda that the burrs came out and that your well on to the washing stage. Patching up the two goats in the bitter cold made my fingertips split again so I can not work with wool for a bit - I have some bunny to process but they keep getting stuck tto all the bandaids so I am having to live thru you adventures for a day or two. Hope you share pictures if you get a chance.

Sheri, remember life with your knees - hope the snow lets up for you very soon. Today I moved hay with just a turtleneck on - this weather is way to strange - not sure what to make of it. Sure gave me no reason to not do my outside work - had hoped to sew a bit but the hay is moved, tarped and ready for what Mother Nature might throw our way.

Time has gotten away from me again so I better get back to work - can not wait to see what Thursday morning brings me - I have the coffee maker all set of a early rise and shine.

Grace, I hope your fingers get better quickly! Have you ever tried Udderly Smooth cream? It's great for in the winter for hands! My hands sometimes get really dry and cracked and this stuff is the best I have found and it's pretty inexpensive too!

It snowed buckets full yesterday and after coming out of the barn this morning and the sun was up, the snow was sparkling diamonds, it was breath taking! Snow is to be expected this time of year, guess we just have to except it.

I am with you - I LOVE SNOW but not to drive in and most times I only shovel a path for the animals to get out and about. Two years ago I was snowed into the farm for almost two months and it was heaven except for the part where we had no propane for three weeks - however, we just went into camping mode and the boy and I made it a fun adventure... Your right it is all how we look at things.

Monica I have a big vat of that cream - works wonders on the rest of me but my hands are a special issue - I must have over a dozen different types of sauves and creams but the worst are my thumbs - and goodness knows if I touch unwashed wool I am done for. Who raises sheep when they are allergic to lanolin - GRACE does!!! Thanks so much for thinking of me your a sweetie..

Almost got a bead on the coyote this morning and then I sneezed so loud that I think I scared the whole animal population for two counties away. Guess God was looking out for him today.

I am hunting for a new sugar cookie recipe for my Great Pry Cookie Cutter... It is a great copper handmade cutter and I normally do not make sugar cookies but I really want to show off the cutter - any great Sugar Cookie Recipe you care to share - you could always just email me with it if you have the time - would be greatly appreciated.

Have a wonderful day today ladies - Hansel is doing good this morning, even licked my hand - PERFECT DAY in my eyes...

Grace, I will be praying that you find the coyote or that he just moves away!!:) Steve stopped by this morning and gave Gary his check and it looks like things should be resolved one way or the other next Tuesday or Wednesday, but it does not look very favorable! Steve said he wants to talk about the house when he gets back and it just doesn't sound very promising! I don't know what there is to talk bout except when we can start moving in! At least it will be finished with one way or the other! Not sure what we are going to do if we don't move in.

Oh, Grace, I so hope you get that coyote!

I am with you guys - I love to see snow on the ground. Course, here in Arkansas, we never get enough to make life miserable, just the occasional nasty, multiple day ice storm that shuts everything down. We laugh at peoples' attitudes about the snow around here because I used to live in North Dakota. It snows more than a dusting here and everyone goes into panic mode, no soup or milk left at the store! But my kids love it when it snows, not for snow days or to play in, but because the electricity usually goes off - that is about the coolest thing in the world in their opinion!

I am packed for the show, just have to load it all in the truck tonight. I am being a big baby, I don't want to leave the family. Saturday is Ethan's 13th birthday, and I won't be back until late that night. I also don't like to go places without Stan, even though I am going with mom. Jessica says that if it were up to me I would order my groceries off the internet, watch church on TV and she used to say "collect cats" but now she has changed to "collect sheep"! Sad part is, she is probably not far from the truth - I'm such a homebody!

Sarita - hope you get to feeling better!

Monica - Still thinking of you and your housing situation!

I am so glad you are back Rae - was getting a bit worried but I know that this is a busy time for everyone and I sure hope your parents are on the fast track to recovery. Snow will be in our lives for some months now and I just pray that everyone is safe, sound and warm. Sounds like you will very soon be relaxing away from school and enjoy the farm and some much deserved rest.

Hugs to you and glad you checked in...

Great to see you back on Rae. It will be alright with me if you girls up north just keep passing that snow and cold back and forth between you and leave me out. I will be very content with one snow of 3 inches for the winter and that is it. Temps are to drop here tonight. They are picking up some ewe lambs that I sold in the morning at daylight and then we sort cows and calves tomorrow and hubby now has the stomach stuff I had. The bed is calling me.
Which one of us will start lambing first? I should start in March...about you?

Grace, Thank you so much! I have had my loom for almost a year now and the other night I just really wanted to work on it so I finally took off the old weaving and set up the warp again and did a towel with light blue and I am really happy with it! The really fun part is that I sent a pic to my mom and she absolutely loves it, but she doesn't know that she is getting it for Christmas along with the shawl I am knitting from hand spun yarn!! Oh I am so very excited!

Good morning all. It has been so cold and snowy here. I have to say I am glad that we got a three day reprieve even if the temps did drop like a rock with north wind. It's so nice to see the sun as we get such long stretches of gray this time of year. I haven't done much the last day or so just trying to recover from moving snow to prepare myself for the next onslaught. We are due again on Tuesday.

Good to see you post again, Rae. I hope things are going well for your folks and you are faring okay with the cold.

Sarita, I hope you are feeling better again and your hubby too. Nothing like a good dose of the flu to knock you down.

Have you caught your new pelt yet, Grace? Hopefully things have been quieter in that quarter for you. The coyotes were singing like crazy around here last night. Every dog for miles was yaking.

Monica, your weaving looks beautiful. Have you woven other things or is this your first project? I would love to branch out into weaving some time but have yet to be able to afford a loom.

I can't believe that tomorrow is my "baby's" 25th birthday.....my how time flies. I spent the afternoon making him a CD of all the songs he loved when he was little as an inspiration for him as he will be a Dad in May. Gotta admit it tugged at the heart strings a bit - just me and my ghosts.....Today it's back to making bathrobes. The pattern is one I made up that zips up the front. I have enlarged the one that I made them three Christmas's ago as they refuse to quit wearing them and the sleeves are nearly up to the elbows!! There is a lot to be said for Minkey when it comes to coziness.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Blessings, Sheri

Monica it is beautiful!!!

Ha sheep made a mad escape last night Kevin was plowing in their area, he says they don't like to walk in snow and while he was doing it the gate was down and out they went. Only walked over by the cars but didn't seem to be in a rush to go back. He got some grain and Mom and Dad came for that and the kids of course followed.

Only supposed to be in teens this week so a bit chilly. At least we have snow though so will protect pipes and the such.
