I am wondering just how many Bras does a farmgirl need? I was just putting some laundry away and in my panties & bra draw I counted 5 .. 3 fairly new ones and two ratty old ones which I just tossed in the the junk bag.. I wonder what good are these? I think 3 is sufficient!

I'd take just one new one right now! I keep forgetting to replace them, and I noticed this morning all three that I have are just about to pop their straps!!! Oh, well, just one more item to add to my list of things to do while I'm in town today. At this rate, I won't get home before midnight!!!!!

I have 5 workout bras and 5 pairs of cotton undies, for working out, yard work, just hanging out on the weekends. I have 10 nicer bra and panty sets, but I work full time and like to create a nice line under my clothes and have plenty in case I don't get to the laundry. The sets help me get dressed faster and I like things to match. No more weird bra colors or the back of the drawer bras for me. ; )

I have one. I hate bras. I go bra-less with a denim jumper most times when I go to town. There was a blurb in MJF magazine about being linked to cancer, which proved my thoughts about them. Hooray for small boobs!

I agree with you Heather.. when I had an outside of my home job I had the same feeling..Now that I have retired.. I stilllike the pretty panties to match... and have many pair that do match... Funny though, I broke my ankle a couple years back hiking and had Not worn any panties under my stretch pants. wouldnt ya know it.. when the fire dept aid team arrived to help me they cut my stretch pants all the way up inner leg and was I ever exposed! Ha! mom was right always wear clean underwear! You never know! It's funny now!!

I have enough to last me two weeks and panties to match. My problem is that the manufacturer decided to cease making this particular bra. I have looked all over the web and purchased as many as I could find. Top that off in my old age I have gotten bigger boobs--go figure. I'm going to wear these until they fall apart. And besides that, good bras are not cheap.

I like to have at least 2 bras. Right now I've got 3, but 2 of them are several years old and need to be replaced. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who doesn't wear a different bra every day. I would have been embarrassed to be the first one to say so.
Maybe somebody can give me a good recommendation to replace them? Sears seems to have discontinued making them. They were Sears brand, 100% cotton sports bras, with two cups (not the tube top style) and sturdy, non-adjustable straps. Anybody else have a good bra similar to that? |

I'm with you on this one Trish...I have one that is about five years old, one of those underwired torture things that looks like brand new. Hate them! I have a couple sport bras that I wear under tshirts when customers might show up..other than that, I'm great at layering clothing! Di |

I've got 5 bras. Last year I ran across a "buy 4, get 1 free" sale and stocked up. And I have about 10 pairs of panties. To my husband's chagrin, I'm very boring; everything is white, black, or nude, and I rarely match! |

I own two bras, one for going in town the other for feeding the chickens here on the homestead. I gotta wear a bra, I want to be buried in a bra and my sweats clothes , white if possible.
I got big boobs , I hate big boobs. I was born with big boobs, got it from my grandmother who got her big boob caught in a wringer washing machine : (. It was hard in school in gym, bras back then cut into my shoulders.
I got big underwear to match, some are very religous, very holely. Bigger holes then where the legs go through, and so stretched out you can wrap them around twice. I do have goin in town underwear but the farm undies well their left to be desired. I do need to go underwear shopping but I do not like to do that. Hate it when the cashier holds up my undies to see the price and the whole Walmart world is watching. Might as well be a kotex box : (, even at my age I shun :(.
Last time I hung out my under clothes i had my son who was around 10 yrs hang out the wash. I went to gather and found my underwear in the tree hanging from branches. Found out he took a stick cuz he didn't want to touch them and flung em and missed the clothes line. I didn't blame him tho. We do have a underwear problem here on the homestead :P and I think it would be so nice to have pretty underclothes in a drawer for my 38 longs.

I don't know how many I have but wear the same 3 for everyday and 1 for dress up. Last Sat night Ole Ron and I went to our high school reunion. I bought new cloths and a new bra. Got dressed and didn't like the way the bra felt or looked under my cloths. Took it off and put on my old "dress up" bra. Seems like when I find a bra that works for me, by the time I am ready to buy another one, they no longer make that style and I have to start over. One of these days I am going to one of the speciality bra stores and be fitted and all that. Of course I'll really have to save my egg money to do that one. |

I'd am happy with none, but may scare the public if I go outside! I have four "good" ones and two sort of shelf-bra/short cami things that I wear the most because they are the most comfy. Around the house, I go without. Sharon

I have a bunch, but I would give anything to have just one that fits and doesn't fall off my shoulders!!! I even bought one by hanes I think that is guaranteed not to fall off and guess what! It does!! Oh well, I hate them anyway! They must have been created by men!!! I am going to make my own someday!

Read LindaEllen's above and my story is the same. I can't get away with going without unless I am wearing overalls like today....but I wish I could.

I'd scare everyone in town if I went without a bra. But I do have to say that around the house I don't wear one. I have 3 bras but I could sure use some new ones. The last one was an underwire which my MIL bought for me for a Christmas present. We went to Norstrom and she had her "bra lady" fit me. The darned thing cost $60! But it sure makes the girls look perkier. That one I save for when I'm going out of the house.

This farmgirl for one only wears underwire bras. I have 2 sports ones with underwire that found in my size a while back and I love them for working out or even better working in the yard and gardens. Then I have 5 other ones, but I really only wear my three favorites. I was raised being told that you can never wear the same one each day or it wears out the elastic prematurely. It needs a day to rest and I am sure that for my bra it is true.

Oh my goodness, I could not believe this topic! It is hilarious! I was just thinking yesterday how much I HATE bras! I cannotwait to yank the darn things off me. I guess I don't have enough shoulder because the straps are always falling off and that's not a good thing when my hands are always dirty from the garden or animals.
I did always think there was something wrong with me because I only ever had a few bras. I do like the sports bras but they need a little more padding for me.
So this makes me feel a little better about me. And the fact that I only have 2 good ones, to boot.
Thank you all for some good laughs, too. I really needed this right now. Not having a very good day. |

The urge here is to run and go through my underwear drawer, clean it out and then come back here! I don't match my bra and undies. The bra for everyday is always white and the undies any color I want. I have a ton of undies as I only like one kind and they are hard to find. But because I buy so many at one time they all wear out at the same time. So when I am done here I will go throw some out. As for bras I have several, all underwire and I went braless (no real need) for many many years. But now if I go braless I feel funny! Ha! I too dislike bras as they are uncomfortable, even though I think I have been wearing the wrong size for years (thanks Oprah). It seems like every bra has to be bought in a different size in order to fit. I keep having to get a larger one.....not good. Men designed bras, after all what woman wants to struggle to hook a bra from behind when one could hook it in front. Try to find a front hook bra that is not a racer back! Aw, well, guess I have some sorting to do.
Find your joy and live it. http://cheneybaglady.blogspot.com/ |
