TS, I'm baby-stepping my way back to routines since you mentioned FlyLady a few weeks ago. Gotta do something to get this house - and myself - in shape. And love checking things off of lists! I'm a list-maker extraordinaire. You should see the list I have for travel - fine-tuned over the course of the last 10 years!
PAR-TAY at Teresa Sue's! We'll give the BB&B some competition of our own. hehhehheh
Marcy Jo, I didn't realize you were staying at TS's too. This is gonna be so much fun!!!

Um.... train leaves out of Chicago. marcy and I can either leave out of there, or I can drive 8 hours to you. Either way, I am a big wuss when it comes to traveling (flying) alone so I'd make a driving sacrifice to be with a friend! Last time i flew alone was to the NFR in Las Vegas. I cried the entire flight. I thought I was doomed forever!!! I've flown since, but always with people I've known.... Please please please include me in travel plans when you make them!

Dawn- It might be cheaper to fly to Billings and then we could share gas expense to and from the BBB if you want. I have a big comfy car that gets pretty good gas mileage! Just a thought. It would make for a longer trip though.

Dawnzo, I had no idea you got stressed out about flying alone. Whatever we work out, we'll go together. That's a definite. I'm an only child so I'm used to doing a lot on my own and am more comfortable that way as a rule. But there's no way I'd leave you stranded, chickie. Just trying to figure out what's more economical/environmentally-friendly. There's not a train stop in Columbus but there is in Cleveland. That's all the checking I've done so far - about 3 minutes worth. We'll get it figured out but it will probably be January at the earliest before I can make concrete plans.
As somebody said (I'm notold enough to remember who): "It's you and me, kid." Okay, maybe I am old enough. I think it was Humphrey Bogart. No, wait, that was "Here's lookin' at you, kid." Whew! I'm young again!!!

TS! MaryJane and I have both "stressed" over the economy and how it might affect the farmgirls being able to attend.. and both of wish we had a "magic carpet" or better yet we could just wiggle our noses and make everyone appear..... If we could you KNOW we would..... Which is why I tried to find accommedations on every level, and why so many of the "local" gals are being so gracious (it is the farmgirl way).. ALL I know for sure is that, You wont want to miss it.. and you will be so missed if you cannot come. I wish that I could just share every detail, but can't.... However, in the weeks to come I will be able to share more.. and give you all a better glimpse of it all.............We know there is a sacrific to some coming the distance they will have to come and we farmgirls will do all we can to soften the economic blow. If you have ever thought about coming.... this is the time to do it....that much I do know................There isn't one sister I have "met" on the forum that I can't even image not being there.. as we all bring our own special (ness) to the whole farmgirl thing................I am SO excited for this years fair.. not because I have the honor of assisting in it.........but, because of the "energy" around the movement as a whole..........and besides, with miss wilma "shaking her Thang" and me going to be skinny mini... really, you wanna miss all that?

Good morning Mavens, hope you are having a good evening. It is fun to see ya'll cackling away your plans for the BBB. Sadly it is one I will miss, not even having the slightest idea about where we might be at the time. Please make plenty of pictures, plenty. Rene, what fun you are having planning all this and having to keep it secret for a bit longer. Do you ever bit your tongue ? Annika, sorry to hear your health is giving you some issues, take it easy girlfreind, remember your ankle still need a bit of TLC. Amy Grace, I miss you, take some time to decompress when you are home, we are not going anywhere here, you will ahve plenty to read when you are able too. Teresa Sue and Karen, I am also in cleaning mode, leaving for France in 2 weeks and need to finish a few things and have the sewing room all organised and clean for when I am back. Ruth, it is great that you've enjoyed your time away, will go see your pics for sure. Dawn, are you staying with family during the chick show ? How are you feeling ? Alee, did you get some snow yet ? Tina, Marcy, Lora, Denise and Lillian, I hope you are well and bouncy, missing your voices here. Corinne

I love you guys. I must because I just retyped every " ' and - in the newsletter. When I did a preview they displayed as funky characters so I deleted each one and retyped it. I did leave the 2000th post topic as is so that you could see what it looked like before the changes. Guess what? When I submitted it and then looked at that topic, it displayed just fine. No funk! Yea, that' how I wanted to spend my evening! Such is the love of one maven for another. Nothing is too much trouble for my maven friends (although this came close!).
So.........the newsletter is available a couple of hours early (more or less depending on your time zone). Now I can sleep in tomorrow morning and not get up until 6am!
Love you all...........................sweet dreams........................Mornin', Corinne..............'Night, Ralph...............

Good morning/evening Mavens. Wow, y'all were a chatty bunch yesterday,*g*. Hold on, gotta go get my cuppa tea.................mmmmmuch better. I certainly hope I am never so destitute that I cannot afford tea, life would not be worth living.......LOL My dear Mavens, perhaps you should seriously consider carpooling to the BBB. Gas is getting better priced, although that could totally change by July. It might be something to consider. With three or four people taking turns driving, you could pretty much drive straight through. Think about it, jet fuel is expensive! Corinne my dear, where are you from in France. I am not familiar with the georgaphy, sorry, typical American, but I want to look it up. One of my daughters wants to go to France. You are going back to France for a visit with family? I don't know if I've mentioned it, but I invested in fabric to sell and have it in a little shop in Tekoa(I live two miles outa town). Well, the woman who has the shop is having her holiday sale today, so I'll be spending a good part of the day there today helping with what I can, cutting fabric, helping customers, etc. That is what I was baking the choc zucchini bread for, that I didn't make because I had the wrong kind of chocolate(like there is a wrong kind of chocolate, silly me*g*)anyway, I ended up making a german chocolate cake and I put it on my new glass pedestal cake stand. Looks beautiful, don't know how it tastes, but it looks good, lol I will be handing out little posters to the vendors she has there for the BBB. Rene' has showered me with her trust to help get my little community on track with the BBB. I talked with the president of the Chamber of Commerce yesterday and I have to give a presentation about the BBB to the next two chamber meetings. I'm also going to give one to our city council. That's the groundwork I'm starting, then in January, I'll go to all the business and organizations. It will be fun and I hope the community gets into it. Did you see the Sisterhood special? Get a subscription and you get the stitchin'book free, what a deal. I'm doing that. Boy, it's so nice to be done with the cemetery, having some extra time is so luxurious, too bad I have so much to do to fill it in, ha!

Good Morning Teresa Sue! I'm glad that you are done with the cemetery too, more time to chatter with us Mavens *g* Raking leaves in the rain/snow can't be much fun. Good luck with your sale today, I hope that you sell lots of fabric. I'm sure the cake will be just perfect. Yum!

Thanks Annika, I doubt if I will sell much fabric today, people ususally just buy the "gifty" things at these sales. Oh, well, I bought fabric that I liked so if I don't sell it, I'll just make it into quilts,*g*. All fifty bolts of it,LOL!

Hello dear Mavens, how did you start your morning ? Teresa Sue, my parents live close to Marseille on the southern coast, one hours north, at the foot of the Alps. I go as often as possible because they age very fast and my being away doesn't help on a daily basis. What a fun day to spend, in a quilt shop... hope you will get nice fabrics for yourself and that you have great patterns in mind. I've just learnt that DH company wants us out of Kuwait for sure at the end of this year... yes we can count the days left, or as soon as possible in january. The trick is that at the very moment, we do not have a place where to go, except back to Africa and that is NOT really my choice. That is like going backward to me and it takes 4 months for out shipment to reach us, so that means 4 months in a hotel with the cats. But if it is it, I will make it work out. Keep us in your kind prayers please. Corinne So

Corinne, dear sister, I will of course keep you in my prayers. I so hope that you do not have to go back to Africa. I am hoping in the weeks to come that an opportunity will open for you both. But we work with what we are given and I will write to you no matter where you are.
Hugs Annika

Annika, thanks for your kind worlds. Yes, I will write to you as well. And we have internet access so I will stay a Maven and will chat my life away with you ladies. It just came as a surprise because we were both hoping to have an extension but Raymond will be back to work tomorrow and we will see what is coming out of it. There is always hope isn't it ? oh, Corinne I will send up a prayer that you don't have to go back to Africa! My heart is that you will be able to go to the perfect place, at the perfect time for you and your DH! I am working on the photos of the grandmothers flower garden to send to you, i'll probably send them in the Christmas card. Have a good nights dream.

Good morning dear Mavens, Annika, Teresa Sue and Denise, thanks for your kind words and your prayers, they mean the world to me. As it was said before, a Maven has to do what she has to, so all will work out and be fine in the end, I know it for sure. It is the transition, the in-between which sometimes gets to me. Any how, it is a glorious sunday that is starting here in Kuwait and I wish ya'll have the most perfect day for what you are doing today. To the Mavens driving today, please be carefull, we want you back in one piece. Corinne
