Ruth, are you still out there? The chat doesn't officially start for another 50 minutes (9EST/8CST/...).

I just tried to call you, Ruth, but the phone just kept ringing. Are you in the slow-speed dial-up group with Lillian and me? I just so didn't want you to miss your first opportunity to chat.

I bought a turkey at Whole Foods too but I just got mine out of the cooler. I didn't know or see anything about ordering one. Maybe that's what those people are doing at that booth by the check-out lanes.......

The rest of your family is probably having a blast with the Wii. At least it gets them moving (which is the whole purpose of it if I remember correctly - to get kids moving instead of just sitting in front of the TV). It still ties them to the TV though so that's probably your concern. We're getting ready to pull the plug on our TV, the satellite connection actually, in January. I was planning to do it when we got back from our first trip but then it was too hectic getting ready for the second one and now the Christmas shows are going to come on..... Even knowing the specials are coming I'm not as gung-ho as usual about it. If we "cut" the satellite/TV connection we can hook up a satellite/computer connection and then I can go crazy here.

Okay, gonna quit for a bit to see if you're still checking in here.

God bless -

Lora, so sorry to hear that the karate instructor is losing his building. After holding classes there for 17 years, it's quite a loss. It sounds like he cared a lot about the kids since he was putting up a village for them. The economic situation is really taking a toll everywhere.

What is the status with Lliam's medication? Is is totally off of it now or were you able to get more? That's been on my mind and in my prayers.

I'll be working on your headgeapple seeds this week. Hopefully they'll be on their way to you soon and, more importantly, they'll be viable!

OK, going to get something to eat for hubby. Be back in a bit.

God bless -

8:15pm CST - Checking in to see if anyone's available for chatting.........

8:55pm CST - I'm really striking out on chat nights! This is too funny! It's off to bed for me. Corinne, if you check in later, hope you're having a wonderful time with your family. Dawn, I know you won't be able to read this for awhile but I miss you, Ralph. And to everyone else, have a wonderful rest of the evening and pleasant dreams when you hit the hay.

God bless -

Hmmmm, it is 9:27 CST here. So sorry that I missed chat time. Karen, please tell Dawn I would like some bittersweet if she has enough to spare.

We just got back from an early Thanksgiving with my folks and also got to visit my sis-in-law on the way back. She has a green house/nursery business and was showing me a HUGE galvanized steel green house that she is going to get for only $1000. There is nothing wrong with it. The people selling it are out of the business. Brand new, it would have costs at least $13,000. She is getting a great deal. She and I were talking about saving seeds and I mentioned that I was interested in Heirloom Seeds and she told me that her oldest son is into the very same thing. Imagine that!! The things we learn. Well, I have preparations to do for Thursday. We will be sharing a meal with hubby's folks. Take care.

Seems we are ALL so busy with Holiday Prep these days. Between work and company coming and some community events and my 3rds son football play offs, I dont know for sure if I could identify "up from down".............And as if all that wasnt enough, I got the bug to go through all the bedding in the linen closet and give everything a good washing (what was I thinking?). I am so behind it seems. Anyway, hi to everyone.

For those of you that have been sending the Thanksgiving cards~ Bless you! I love it when I hear from the Maven's it brightens the days..........Happy Holidays to you all....I figure I will be caught up at the end of January and can send mine out then :) (UGH)!!!!........Anyway, you guys are the absolute best! Thanks for making me "smile".

Good morning, mavens! The sun is shining here and it feels like the temp won't be freezing today. Yesterday was still a bit bone-chilly.

Annika, how are you holding up caring for the animals? I know you have a full plate this week - haha! I just got that - Thanksgiving week....full plate.... Okay, I'm done laughing. Be sure to rest up and eat well, especially on Thanksgiving Day. Don't overeat, but eat healthy to give you stamina.

Brenda, I will forward your request for bittersweet to Dawn along with everyone else's. I'll wait til tomorrow morning to see who else wants some. She has tons of it (not literally but ya know) so there will be plenty available for quite awhile.

Brenda (again), how cool that your nephew is into heirloom seeds. He's providing hope for the future! And another heirloom gardening buddy for you.

Amy Grace, how did you miss all my whining about not having high-speed? We are not alone. Lillian is a slow-speeder too. High-speed internet service is one thing that doesn't make me long for the old days!

Tina, hope you made a big dent in all the things you had to do yesterday. It seems it's just that time of year.

Ruth, so sorry I missed you last night. I was on internet - just not on the DOE. Did you sign off to play Wii with the rest of the family???

Rene, as always, it's such a pleasure to see a post from you. Thanksgiving cards - wish I'd thought of that. Well, gotta put that on my list for next year.

Not sure what the day holds for me, mavens, but right now I need to go dry my hair. Just got out of the shower and sat down for a "second" to check in. Sitting here with a wet head getting colder and colder as I type. Will check in later on. Have a great day, y'all!

God bless -

Good morning Mavens,
Sorry I missed the chat last night, I worked myself into a slather yesterday and I was doing good to get the dinner dishes done before I went to bed! Whew! One more day of slave labor(me) and I can rest tomarrow before the hurricane(my family) hits. I have to make one more guest bedroom up, dust mop up stairs, mop upstairs, wash the fronts of my kitchen cabnits, clean my oven/stove, mop kitchen, livingroom, clean the office, bake pies, cookies, make cranberry sauce, and bake the ham today. I figure I can get the cleaning stuff done by noonish and cook/bake in the afternoon. Man, I'm ready to be done!

Karen say hello to Dawn for me, hope she is feeling better and that she's not too down about her computer.

Well, dear friends, my timer went off so it's time for me to hit the ground running.

Well hello Mavens, everyone is gone today I guess, ;^)
I have the cookie dough made and it's chilling in the fridge and I thought I would take a little break before I started on pies. I'm in the home stretch, thank goodness! lol
Guess I'll tootle around the forum for a few minutes before I head back to the kitchen.

Afternoon Mavens! Everyone is soooo busy. I am tackling all those things that have waited and waited. Spending time with DH and actually enjoying his company. (Been a long time) I will be going to Michigan for turkey dinner Thursday. It started with just me and dd then I get the boys too!! Sure got my little granny in a tail spin!!! We will help and it will be fun!!

I too, would like some bittersweet!!

Won't it be wonderful when we can just get back into the normal? The holidays are exciting but I am happy when they are put to rest for the year!!!

Ruth--your turkey sounds delightful!! Dont think we have ever had anything they serve at the White House!!!

To everyone else have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!! This library will be closed Thurs and Fri so I will have withdrawls until Saturday!!!

Hello everyone!!
Teresa Sue it sounds like you did about two weeks worth of work today!! Hope your visit with the kids/grands is good
Karen - I miss my high-speed internet but I just can't bring myself to go from free dial-up to who-knows-how-much for high-speed since we live in an area that doesn't have much for options.
Hope all of you are well and happy - we got our VW van with a new/rebuilt motor in it back today so, aside from the total price tag, it was a happy day here.
Sweet dreams,
Amy Grace
