Yes, I got my packet yesterday!

And the day before that, a second copy of MJF magazine, which I'll give to a friend!

A nice way to end the week.

Hi,

I know this is a little late, but congrats!! I felt the exact same way when I received mine, lol. My older son (he's 14) thought I had gone off of the deep end. This is such a wonderful bunch of ladies. I still have not embroidered mine, but will get to it soon. Think I'm gonna add some buttons to it, too.
Take care and have a wonderful day!

It's never too late to be what you might have been.

Kim- My hubby doesn't quite get it either, but I know someday- when we have our own land and he sees how self-sufficient we are... the light bulb will go off :D Sometimes he even asks me to ask the farmgirls something...so I think he is slowly understanding what an awesome resource we are for each other.

Hi everyone!

I just got my packet in the mail last night! I'm so excited to be a part of the sisterhood! My husband is actually excited for me! He moved me from the city to a farm in SE Indiana (we raise natural beef cattle and are working toward organic certification), so he's very happy that I'm embracing our rural lifestyle! I love our family farm life!

I look forward to chatting with everyone and sharing ideas and stories!

Sincerely,

Nikki

LOL, I haven't yet but I have good intentions of doing it soon! My plan is to make mine Farmgirl Funky with embroidery, charms and other stuff but haven't had a chance to shop at the thrift shops for my goodies...

Would love to see pics of yours when it's finished.

Hi Kim -
Your idea for the patch sounds great! I've got beads and do-dads aroung here somewhere - maybe I'll dig them out. My badge is still in the envelope........I was in Gettysburg about 16 years ago with my then 1 year old son. It turned really cold and I went into a lovely thrift shop there to buy him more sweat-shirts. I remember a pre-school group out on a huge wagon type thing that held about 10 kids, going somewhere. I wonder if that still is in use?

Hi Sue! They still have carriage rides in town but no longer have the big hay type wagons. The traffic is too congested for larger horse drawn carriages. It's a nice place to live even with all the tourist traffic.

I'd love to see what you do with your badge too! I have been looking at some of my linens, beads and brooches to see if I have what I need..

Hi Bertha, I went to the websites main page and clicked on the link for becoming a Farmgirl and placed my order there. I think there's also a link in the main forum. Hope that helps!
