any one up for a fun 'DOLL APRON SWAP'?
we could do TWO things here ... make TWO dolly aprons .. one to SWAP with another farmgirl .. and one to send to Mary Jane .. for a little dolly clothesline filled with our aprons!
i'll be the 'momma' of this swap .. and the 'rooools' would be kinda' like this:
DOLL APRON SWAP
make TWO dolly aprons .. ohhhh .. about EIGHT inches WIDE
by TWELVE inches LONG. (it's a good idea for all of us to make them about the same size for two reasons ..
(one) .. it makes for a fair swap .. and
(two) .. if they are somewhat the same size ..
they would be cuter hanging on a clothes line together
(for maryjane) ..
i'll get a miniature clothesline and some small dolly-size clothespins to send along to maryjane too!
let us know HERE if you'd like to be in this swap and IMPORTANT .. also E-MAIL me .. with your FULL NAME, E-MAIL ADDY and MAILING ADDY
.. and i'll pull names from a basket and let you know who your swap partner is.
let's put a 'time-line' on this .. mail to BOTH your swap partner AND to MaryJane .. by JUNE 18 .. that would give us three weeks.
dolly aprons and small and quick and easy .. if you need some 'instructions' cuz' you've never made a 'people-size' apron before .. jus' e-mail me .. and i'll try and walk you through making one with some cute 'embellishments'.
(actually, all you need do .. is cut out an 8 by 12 piece of fabric and a matching or coordinating 'pocket and waistband) and gather the 8 inch side at the top. sew your belt to the gathers .. and sew on your pocket. you can tuck some little dried flowers in the pocket or make a really cute shaped pocket .. you can add lace .. ribbon flowers .. oh gosh so many ideas will pop into your head when you get it made .. just get your inspiration from 'full-size' aprons.

I'd love to trade doll aprons. I can make those quick and cute. Life has been so hectic here that I haven't had much time to do "girl stuff". I can already picture a string of aprons across the top of my kitchen window.

Frannie, this is such a cute idea! Please count me in!(I will send you my info etc) Since I have yet to make myself an apron (shame shame) this will be good first project for me! Will we see a picture of MaryJane's washiong line? I do hope so!(Do I mail both to you and you distirbute or one to you and one to MaryJane?)

BY THE WAY GURLZ ... if you would like to make MORE THAN ONE dolly apron to send to MaryJane .. and since you are on a 'roll' making them .. please feel free to send her as many as you like (i'm gonna' try to do several for her). I'm thinkin' MaryJane will hang them on the line and take a pic and post it to us.)
EVEN if you decide to NOT be in the SWAP .. i hope all the farmgirls will make at least ONE dolly apron to send to maryjane .. see the 'size' dimensions listed above .. so they can all be fairly close in size. thanks sooooo much!

Great to see so many other players. I spent today working on two but have ideas for about 30,000 more. Frannie when I gathered the waist band onto the 8x12 fabric it reduced the 8 inch side to about 4 1/2 inches. Does that sound okay? I put on 12 inch long ties.

maybe don't gather it quite so much .. but variety will be nice .. as long as they are not teeeeeeeeeeeeensy and HUGE together.
or .. maybe make the 8 inch side a little bigger. jus' play with it!
and you jus' do that 30,000 of them! i think you girls will get 'addicted' to these cuties!
it is fun to do a 'clothesline' of these for yourself for every season and holiday!

aunt george .. variety would be nice .. some 'bib' aprons might be real cute on that line too! jus' trying to get them 'somewhat' the same scale .. but ya'll have FUN with making these .. if they come out bigger or smaller .. that will be perfect too!

This is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. I've got two done and two in the works. Now only 29,996 to go. Frannie how long should I make the waistband? I think my first two(too small) may stay home with me and the new ones will travel on to new horizons.
Anyone else want to join the dollie apronnettes?
