Wow Robin! What a terrific reference list. Thank you soooo much! I'm like you, more refining to do.

Interresting to note that the list for foods brands not using genetically engineered ingredients is shorter on most lists than the ones using the G E ingredients but the availibility of the non gmo foods is much smaller in most regular grocery stores. It is impossible to find a lot of the good foods unless you have a local co-op. However some of the bigger chain stores are getting on the band wagon and putting in an area of "Organic foods" usually quite small compared to the rest of the store. Eileen

I've taken some time to read through the list. It's pretty comprehensive. It's interesting to note that MJFarm made the non-ge list for energy bars and meal mixes, but soups didn't. Makes me wonder what their criteria was for evaluation.... Anyway, it's a good start for awareness.

I found Mary Jane's Black Bean, Campfire Chili, Lentil, Tomato and Potato soups on the list. They're near the bottom under meal mixes and sauces.

Here's an article about seed saving and the Canadian government that will give you pause... There has to be a way to keep GE seeds out of the organic system. http://shared-vision.com/2005/sv1805/sf_feature1805.html

Robin: Thanks for the great list! Isn't it scary that the GE food includes such a long list of "common" foods on it. |

Hey Farmgirls Just had a minute to peruse this list and will get back for a more complete review--pretty scary.
