Hi Farmgirls,

Want to share that if you love Downton Abbey on tv, you need to see the movie. Last night, my best girlfriend and I went to see a special Advance Premiere. We had so much fun! It was in a Dolby theater, with reclining seats, and we got little Downton snow globes. Fans were dressed up for the event, and one lady even brought a cardboard (life size) of the Earl of Grantham. The movie was great!!! Go see it. It opens nationwide on Thursday, and only plays a limited time...a week, I think. Not sure. I would see it again.

So happy you ladies got to see the movie..
Ahh, the costumes were fabulous... as was the music...
For me the only :>( moment was the last conversation with Violet and Mary... but as sad as it was, it was also very sweet...
Luv Downton Abby...

Hubby and I went to see the Downton Abby movie Friday night and it was wonderful!! I loved how fun it was to see the loose ends of the characters sort of wrap up in very positive ways. Julian Fellows is a a gifted writer and the TV 6 season series and this movie are masterpieces of drama.

I took my Bible Study Group to see Downtown Abbey while we were on our Retreat at the Oregon Coast! Everyone LOVED it.
A couple of the Gals did not watch the Series and some tried to catch up on The Series before seeing the movie but they
had not completed it yet. I told them that The Movie Stood Alone. So, they all went and completely LOVED IT!! Being in a
small coastal town we got to go to a Restored Small Theater...that even had the Old Organ in the front that they used for
the Silent Movies way back when. It was just so Charming and added to the Charm and Mystique of The Era. It was one of
the highlights of the Weekend...besides all the eating out, shopping, and personal time with each other and the Lord!

Hugs and Smiles,
Peggy

I went to see it last nite after we came home from camping. DH was tired so I went alone. The theater only had a 9:25 showing. It didn't start until 10:20 -- almost a full hour of commercials and previews ( I could have stayed home for that). I loved it, especially the music, clothes, and jewels at the ball. It was lovely to see the Downton family again and with a happy ending for most of them. I finally got home at 12:45; sure made a long weekend for me but at least I had put the dirty clothes from the weekend in the washer before I left. Put them in the dryer when I got home and let them dry when I was sleeping.

I saw it on Saturday and loved it! I live a little over an hour away from Boston, so I am going this coming Sunday to The Downton Abbey Exhibit. It ends the following Monday, so I am cutting it close. I have my tickets and I can't wait. I get to see Lady Mary's bedroom, Mrs. Patmoore's kitchen, props, clothing and other things from the tv show and movie. I am hoping that I can take photos. I'm really looking forward to seeing everything.

hugs,

Marcy

PeggyAnn,,, Rats! if you lived closer, we could go together!
I need to check and see if it will be playing here... I did see an advertisement for it for 1 night only in Spokane, but it was quitr expensive, it was more like a Gala Event... That being said,, if I can find it at the AMC theater... I will certainly go,, even by myself,, and the good think about that is... I Don't have to share my popcorn! lol!

Nicole, so glad you got to go see it.. you Lucky Ducky...
