Posted - Apr 30 2019 : 10:33:22 AM Hi everyone, I am a farm girl returning from exile after 30 years. I am living my dream of returning to the farm I grew up on. I love the magazine because it celebrates the little things I took for granted before moving away from the country. We have 3 tiny dogs and a horse, so far. Chickens are next, I think. I love sewing, crafting, reading, scrapbooking and, of course, riding my new horse around the farm. Learning to garden, too. Eagerly waiting for spring to stick around here in NW PA. Winter just doesn't want to let go.

Posted - Mar 04 2019 : 3:46:38 PM Krista, I am working on the knitting badge first. Many years in high school, I had a substitute teacher who taught us to knit using pencils. I never did anything with this skill, so now I have the urge to try again. I found a cute baby hat to make since in a month I will be blessed with two new great nephews. At the rate I am going, the babies may be grown. Just kidding, I am very slow at this but enjoying it. Then I think I will work on the aprons. My grandmother always wore an apron and I just loved them. Unfortunately, I did not get any of hers when she passed, but I still have the memories. Can you see a pattern here? Crafty section first, then on to the others, unless I change my mind, which is often. Debbie #7826

Posted - Feb 19 2019 : 5:10:54 PM Krista, OMG they are adorable!!!!I love them, they are precious. I sure wish I have know about stapling the stomach to prevent twisting. But I know now, and with the hope of getting another one soon, I will most definitely inquire with the vet about doing that. I would love to post pics of my babies, but I can't seem to find out how to attach photos. Any helpful suggestions?....Thanks!

Posted - Feb 18 2019 : 11:29:36 AM Yes. The Anatolian does look similar to a St. Bernard. I love a Great Danes too! They are my absolute favorite and I plan to always have one. I'm so sorry to hear about your Great Dane. Losing our fur babies is the worst. I lost my Alaskan Malamute in March of last year and that was really hard on me. Wow! He was a big boy! My girl is only about 110. She is skinny but isn't food motivated. So we always try and help her put on some pounds. When we had her fix we had her stomach stapled to help prevent the twisting. We read before hand that the twisting was extremely common in Great Danes and we wanted to help prevent it. So far we have been lucky. Oh yes! The Border Collies have to stay busy. And if they aren't they WHINE! And oh my goodness is that whining annoying lol! She could chase a thrown ball for hours. My guess is the goats wouldn't like it either. You are such a wonderful person. There needs to be more rescue groups. I wish I could rescue more animals. I just don't have the room. Once my kids are grown, I will have more time for more animals. I would love to see the mini horses you rescue! It breaks my heart too. And there are way to many people who do.

Posted - Feb 16 2019 : 11:22:13 AM Doesn't the Anatolian look similar to a St. Bernard? What a great mix! I love Great Danes. My last dog, who passed away from a twisted intestine, was a Blue Merle Great Dane. He topped out at 205#! Big boy. His nickname was Joker. That is when I learned that you never put a dogs food or water bowl on ground level. Always raised. Yes, I imagine a Great Dane would be a perfect companion for all my critters. They are so lovable! My second fav is the Border Collie. They are so smart, but yes bossy too. LOL It wouldn't be a good match for me because as I understand it, you have to have a job for them to be happy and I don't think my goats would appreciate being herded around! LOLOL Animals top my list of very favorite things. I just joined a killpen rescue group and I am hoping to rescue some mini horses this year. Breaks my heart to see people toss their animals away.
