Marilou, I have great news for you, and a big apology! I received your mail art! But it came while I was away for a week, so I'm sure I am tardy in posting and that is why I apologize.

Look at this marvelous lady who entered my house!:

I have to tell you I have a deep connection to paper dolls, and when I read your note I was giddy to continue opening the package. I have fond memories of playing with paper dolls at my grandparents' house and I have been dreaming of making some for my grandkids.
This Lady is SO magnificent! I just absolutely adore her and I'm sure she will be my inspiration for some future creations. Does she have a name? She looks to have the likeness of some particular historical person.

As you can see, she is VERY athletic!

Thank you soooo much!
And tell me, does 'Passe une journee pleine de douceur' mean "Have a day full of sweets?'

Thank you, Beth Jones!!! For the lovely spring mail art, I do love it! Even love the envelope decorated with an old fashioned address label and a beautiful song bird with stained edges!! Those song birds are so very special to me! Thank you for brightening my beautiful Saturday! ~ April

What a creative use for birch bark! I have some pieces of cherry bark that I can't decide how to use. That is lovely!

Beautiful Diana!

Sara, so glad you enjoy it! We love fermented lemonade. My lemon tree is tiny, but I get lots of unsprayed lemons from neighbors. Also a great thing to make is Moroccan lemons. Very easy, let me know if you want me to send you a recipe :).

Diana, a pine cone! No, I thought they were some seed pods- well, I guess I was kind of right because that's what pine cones are:)
I have no problem with the idea of materials just putting themselves together- I think that's how artist's minds work- we see things in front of us and they just arrange themselves in our heads as our next project. Do you know what kind of berries they are? I think I could find out in one of my plant ID books, but I haven't had a chance to look its up.
What type of artwork am I most drawn to? Currently I am exploring the very basics of watercolor- something that has always eluded me. Also currently, print-making. I am a regular at crocheting; paper-quilling and tatting I do fairly often nowadays, too- make nice swap projects or gifts. I have tried many, many things.
Sorry I still can't put up a picture- am at the library hand have 5 min. before close. Bye for now!

Blessings to you on your life's journey.

Alise, I am so happy that you like it! I had ideas in my head, then I wasn't sure it work out, may sound a little silly but the materials almost put themselves together. Did you figure out the petals are from a pine cone - courtesy of gray and red squirrels getting a snack. The berries dried in my vest pocket all winter and the back I picked up a year or 2 ago. What type of art work are you most drawn to? How wonderful that you are an herbalist, that is something I would like to learn more about.

Have a wonderful day <3

Diana, I am so thrilled with the package I received from you today! I am so sorry I can't post a picture of it right now. I will try to as soon as I can, though, (it might take a few days), because I would like for everyone to see the wonderful birch bark hanging (being both an artist and an herbalist, I am absolutely enthralled with this piece!), and lovely heart pennant banner you made; as well as the sweet little birch bark ornament, cranberry votive, red nasturtium seeds, and goat's milk soap you also included. You are too generous! Thank you again, I will be thoroughly enjoying everything for weeks, and more, to come!

Blessings to you on your life's journey.

Thank you for your compliments Sara and Aimee.

Yes, Aimee, if you decide the time has come that you want to develop some patience, paper quilling may be a good activity to pursue:) But actually, rolling and shaping the paper doesn't take too long; mostly it's the putting all the little pieces together that takes a bit more time/nimbleness in the fingers. BTW, I grew up in Jefferson- Wisconsin that is:)

It's great to see all the different pieces everyone is making- what a creative and talented group!

Blessings to you on your life's journey.

That quilling is lovely! I have always wanted to try it but...I'm not very patient and it looks like it takes a lot of that!

So glad my package arrived safely and that you really like what I made for you, Dianna. I like the idea of being able to make fun things by just manipulating such a common object as paper.

Blessings to you on your life's journey.
