Posted - Mar 06 2017 : 3:36:52 PM My name is Vickie and I reside in St. Amant, La. My husband and I live on 3 acres with 2 dogs. My husband is retired and I teach high school chemistry. We raise bees and love to hunt, fish and go to our youngest grandson's baseball games. We have 2 other grandsons one in college and one who just graduated high school. Our life revolves around our family. I love to make soap, cleaning supples, and use essential oils for making home scents. I recently taught my self how to needle tat and I belong to a lady's crafting group that meets quarterly. My next project is to plant medicinal herbs for making home remedies. I am also very interested in Traditional Chinese medicine of which I have learned much from my accupuncturist. I am excited to be a part of the Farmgirl connection |

Posted - Jun 30 2017 : 10:30:13 AM Hi Vicki,
What interesting hobby you are doing. I love sewing, make jam, I make some white grape a few weeks ago. My favorite thing to do is decoupage. First I go to lots and lots of estate sale, where I find old magazines and other stuff like vintage toaster, oil can, gas can, cookie sheet, magazine holder, bug sprayer, wash boards, etc. etc. I decoupage the old ads. on the objects and I sell them on etsy vintageartist61 and at the local wineries and high school holiday bazaar. I even sold one item on my facebook page to a high school friend.

Posted - Apr 21 2017 : 07:31:48 AM Welcome Vickie. It sounds like you have a loving family. Cherish them and nurture that relationship. I used to go to my brother's baseball games growing up and they are fun memories. I use natural and holistic treatments and only eat organic foods. My next goal is to switch to all organic clothing and natural products I use. A friend recently pointed out to me the chemicals in our toothbrushes. lol I thanked her for giving me one more thing to be concerned with until I get my natural bristle brushes. Giggle!
Have fun and get to know the member's. Everyone is so nice and kind.
