I learned about this book from a friend in Texas. The full title is "These is My Words, The Diary of Sarah Agnes Prine 1881-1901 Arrizona Territories." When I found a used copy on Amazon, I realized it is the first of a trilogy about this young woman. Once I started the novel, I could not put it down. The story stars a young woman at the age of 17 when her family decides to leave Arizona and ranch down in Texas. The long and dangerous trip to Texas begins the tale of Sarah's life for the next 20 years. The pages are full of love, hardship, marriage, children, death, new beginnings and faith.

I love how the book brings back to life a piece of American history and the hard lives of those who lived in the far West in territories . It is a wonderful story and an opportunity to peek into the life of a woman who knew love and disappointment in equal measure.

I am planning of reading the other two books of the series soon!

Has anyone here read this book? I would love to know what your thoughts!

All of Nancy E. Turner's books are great, but THESE IS MY WORDS and the two sequels are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!! I have read them several times.

Just got the sequels. Can't wait to read them. Also, got another book by Nancy E. Turner called The Water and the Blood. Looks like another very good book.

Winnie: That is my FAVORITE book. The two sequels are just as good. I know I sound like a broken record because I am always recommending those three books. I am so happy to read someone else loves them as much as I have. Enjoy!

I have this book and loved it! It is really good at helping us to understanding how life was at that time. Couldn't put it down. I didn't know there are two more books. Glad to find out. I plan on tracking them down. Do you happen to know the titles of them?
