Farmgirl Jubilee Opening Statement

The first annual Farmgirl Jubilee was celebrated in 2015, forever more to be held during the first weekend in May. During our special weekend, together in person or online, we celebrate friendships and our connections to our rural roots. It’s when we honor our homes, families, and friends. We celebrate by adding beautiful gardens to urban backyards, by discovering the satisfaction of home-cooked meals made with healthy ingredients, by renewing our commitment to the simplification of our daily lives, by rediscovering outdoor spaces together with friends, and by meeting new friends who inspire us and help us stay the course in meaningful ways. Thank you for joining us. Now it’s time to tie one on … an apron, of course!

Nancy, next weekend, May1-2 is the 2021 Jubilee. There are several links under Jubilee that speaks about what and how people like to celebrate. There is nothing formal happening but there is an Herb of the Year link, and how a person celebrates is up to them. Find those links and read them and you can get an idea of how others like to commemorate this Jubilee. There is also a badge you can do as well.

Unfortunately you missed the sign up for a book giveaway and my fun giveaway this year, but if you read comments on these links here for this year, you will get an idea of what others like to do. Then you can figure out what you would like to do. One activity I love to do is fly an apron from my flag holder in front of the house. Just make up what you think would be fun a nod then go for it!!

A Surprise Farmgirl Jubilee Box arrived for me from Karla Hendricks. The box was overflowing with Easter Treasures and Rooster/Chicken Goodies as well. A really cute Jubilee Apron which Karla maybe made and a hand painted egg. Also a beautiful strawberry teacup and a variety of tea to celebrate. It was like
Christmas and all holidays rolled into one. On May 7th I will have a cup of tea to celebrate this years Jubilee and to honor Karla and all my Farmgirl Sisters/Friends that I have made over the years.
Thank you Karla for all my surprises and making me feel special!

Hugs,
Deb

Terri, a late but heartfelt welcome to Texas. To see a lightening bug aka fire fly is a wondrous thing indeed. Glad you got to see your first and hopefully not your last one.

Hi Yellow Rose. I just returned from your neck of the woods. My daughter got married on Saturday, April 8 in Conroe Texas. Wildflowers are still out there. Saw my first lightning bug!
