Oh my GOSH! This poor little critter! Will they ever leave him alone?! He's just an innocent little guy! He is just doing his job! Haven't they heard: You don't kill the messenger! LOL!

http://www.wpxi.com/news/news/local/warrant-issued-punxsutawney-phil-police-groundhog/nj8f9/

I think what really did him was biting the ear of the the mayor... but for PETE'S SAKE - there is only so much a poor little groundhog can take!

My son is convinced this could be the start of a new Civil War... Pray for our nation, girls! Pray for poor little Punxsutawney Phil!!! Where will the madness end?!

;)

Hugs -

Nini, don't fret, I'm sure your 60 degrees has more to do with it being spring than Phil pushing up daisies in your backyard.

Lady you have the most wicked delicious sense of humor ~~~ love it ~~~just love it.

Oh girls... The other day my husband and I woke up at 4:45 am to snowflakes gently falling and ice covering his windshield. My husband took one look, turned back to me with eyes of fire and said, "That's it! I'm going to find that little {insert expletive} Phil and serve some justice!" Now I'm pretty sure he hasn't missed any time off of work, and I haven't seen any evidence of blood, pelts or lucky groundhog's feet lying around, but suddenly yesterday we had temperatures over 60 degrees, and our back screen door was open all day letting in the fresh air... Just sayin'...

Poor little Phil... He's just the messenger!!!

I know I said Phil, Pete, whatever his name is could hideout in Texas. I stand by my words, but if he is anywhere near me he's under 4"of snow on top of ice. I hope he made it further south than Lamar County ~~ maybe he made it all the way to Galveston, and is soaking up some rays along the Gulf of Mexico.

I go along with that one Sara, I couldn't deal with that either and the thought of being Punx would just about ruin me.

Catherine you're a better woman than I am - don't think I could choke down that first bite. Phil would be safe in Texas and definitely not on the menu. Ground hog chili - yuck.

SARA!!! FUNNY! I'm am tickled giggling at that comment and can't stop. hee hee

But, he better steer clear of south Louisiana because he looks a little like a nutria. They eat nutria there. I know, because I'm part cajun, lived there a while and ate some nutria gumbo.
