I love quotes of all sorts.
My quote for January 1st was: "Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine." Anthony J. D'Angelo
My quote for today, January 2, is: "The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart." Elisabeth Foley

Please, add your own daily quote. It'll be nice to read quotes from other farmgirls.
Marly

"It's only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth- and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up- that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had." Elisabeth Kurler-Ross

"In the case of good books, the point is not how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you."

-Mortimer J. Adler, philosopher, educator, and author (1902-2001)

"Books are the carriers of civilization. Without books, history is silent, literature dumb, science crippled, thought and speculation at a standstill."

-Barbara W. Tuchman, America historian, author, and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner (1912-1989)

It was so wonderful that the Queen was able to make such a vow in her youth and never turn from it, with the help of the Almighty. A wonderful example of what it means to be committed.

Cindy, I have always loved that quote and do try to practice it daily. It's not the situation, but your reaction to the situation. Stress is always when we want something to be different than it is. I'm learning... but letting go can be difficult. I'm a work in progress. Thank you for sharing such a lovely reminder.

So sad that Queen Elizabeth II passed away overnight. I thought it fitting to share a quote from Her Majesty:-

"When I was 21, I pledged my life to the service of our people and I asked for God's help to make good that vow. Although that vow was made in my salad days, when I was green in judgement, I do not regret nor retract one word of it." - Reaffirming her lifetime commitment to the job in a speech to mark her 25 years on the throne, in 1977.

My dear farmgirl friend, April, recently shared this verse with me from the great Maria Sabina - Mexican healer and poet. I like what she has to say and I thought you might enjoy it too:-

"Cure yourself with the light of the sun and the rays of the moon.
With the sound of the river and the waterfall.
With the swaying of the sea and the fluttering of birds.

Heal yourself with mint, with neem and eucalyptus.
Sweeten yourself with lavender, rosemary, and chamomile.
Hug yourself with the cocoa bean and a touch of cinnamon.

Put love in tea instead of sugar, and take it looking at the stars.
Heal yourself with the kisses that the wind gives you and the hugs of the rain.
Get strong with bare feet on the ground and with everything that is born from it.

Get smarter every day by listening to your intuition, looking at the world with the eye of your forehead.
Jump, dance, sing, so that you live happier.
Heal yourself, with beautiful love, and always remember: you are the medicine".

"Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine."
"The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the ability to reach it."
