Keep your eyes to the sky starting December 21 to see Jupiter and Saturn align for the first Christmas Star in 800 years. It should be visible for the 4th week in December and hopefully we'll all have clear skies to see it.

We've been socked in with fog. I don't think we'll get to see it. Maybe in another life the next time around.

We have been having cloudiness, and now wind and rain. I doubt we willget to see it at all.

In Wisconsin it has been all clouds so far. We do have a white Christmas. .9 right now at quarter after 5 am, no looking forward to going out to milk. Also I can hear the wind blowing. Crossing my fingers we get one clear evening this week.

We got to see the star in Utah. It was beautiful and so exciting! We only used binoculars, but I wish we had a telescope to see. But I have seen those pictures on Facebook of the planets more in detail. Such an exciting thing to experience and say I have seen. Thank you for sharing Dawn.

We got to see it really well on Monday evening. With binoculars, we could see two distinct planets too. It was all so exciting to watch!

Darn, the clouds rolled in for us here as well. I've seen photos on TV and it is amazing how Saturn's rings are visible behind Jupiter. We are taking a big plunge in temps here tonight and for the next two days, so those clouds won't be leaving us. Oh well, I'll keep hoping & looking anyway!

Overcast last night so I missed the star. Maybe tonight but not counting on it. Our temps will be dropping later today so that means clouds.

It was very overcast last night but suppose to be better tonight. Our Farmsister Jami Bolton got a decent picture of it from Texas. She posted it on
FB. Well, for all us girls who didn't see it...don't give up...I'm NOT!

Hugs and smiles,

It was cloudy here last night so I thought I missed it. I didn't know it would be all this week. Quite a thing to see the same star so many years later.

Dawn, I'm sorry you weren't able to see the star last night. Hope tonight is clear for you. I did get to see it and I am so thankful you told us about it. Will try to remember to look again tonight.

Sadly it became very cloudy here west of Chicago. Tonight is the brightest the planets will be, but they are going to visible all week, so hopefully we will get to see them.
On the plus side our winter solstice Persian feast was delicious!

It was a clear day until time to go see the star and now there are clouds. Will try again later. Fingers crossed! I want to see it so badly.

The planets should be visible for the week. I copied this from Google for everyone. Hope everyone has clear skies to see it!

Find a spot with an unobstructed view of the sky, such as a field or park. Jupiter and Saturn are bright, so they can be seen even from most cities. An hour after sunset, look to the southwestern sky. Jupiter will look like a bright star and be easily visible.

WE have been told that down here in Florida, our best nights to see this alignment of the two planets will be this week Tues.- Thurs. WE have a week of lots of rain shower activity forecast so Wednesday night looks like it might be our best hope. I spoke with a friend this morning who lives in Switzerland and she saw it this past Friday night. Over there she said it is called the "Bethlehem Star". I sure hope to see it this week.

Wow...that should be very cool to see! I too will put it on my calendar and see if I can spot it. I usually take my dog out about 11:30 at night for his last trip out. So, that should be pretty perfect timing to be able to see it. So, thanks Dawn for sharing this info!!!
