Wishing all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving celebration! Ours will be simple this year but we are thankful for our many blessings. I found these two photos from a book title, America's Rural Yesterday.

This first one is from 1928 and it reminds me of the stove my Grandmother had at her farm in Indiana. Hers did not have all the chrome trim but it was big and black and she could make delicious anything on it!!

This next photo is a family gathering in 1942. The setting reminds me of the family table and gatherings of my early childhood in the 1950s. As I remember, turkey was not available all year around like it is now, so a turkey dinner was quite special. It was a time when all the "good" dishes and a white tablecloth was used too.

However you are celebrating tomorrow I hope it has some delicious moments!!

Happy Thanksgiving Winnie! I hope you had an amazing day with some delicious food! We had a wonderful time with our little family and all the food was delicious! I'm so grateful I get to spend the time with them all! I'm also grateful for all the farmgirls here and the amazing friendships we have built over the years!

Happiest Thanksgiving to you Winnie! Tge second image reminds me also of family gatherings that I miss dearly. We all tended to live closer to one another then. So many mile's apart now makes it very difficult to be together not only for holidays but anytime. Just very thankful for my family no matter how far, and for all my farmsisters and MaryJane and her crew! Have a very blessed Thanksgiving!!
