Has anyone ever made this? It is a southern recipe and I had never heard of it. My hubby said use up this bushel of hot peppers and dared me to make it---and I dared him to eat it. But we both like it. I also made hot pepper hot dogs, I wore a mask and gloves and I can tell you that none of it was fun. Hubby did chores outside and said he was glad I had to can it and not him. Anybody love hot peppers??? I do not.

I am afraid to ask what cowboy candy is----LOL. Yes---fooling with hot peppers is a labor of love for sure, Our sweet peppers got root rot this year and all we got was the hot ones----go figure that. I think I will fake the root rot on hubbys hot peppers next year----a little slicing at the stem should work---LOL>

I don't love hot peppers either, and barely eat them, but I do grow, make and can cowboy candy, pickled Mexican carrots and peppers and this year I fermented and made hot sauce (serrano, jalapeno, Anaheim and poblano) for an annual reunion of a group of friends. It is a labor of love!
