I'm interested in a crochet magazine and maybe a sewing or beginner quilting magazine (to add to my Christmas wish list). Do any of you have a favorite magazine that you subscribe to?

Thanks ladies. I'm not sure the next time I'll be in town but I'll look when I am. I thought I'd ask on here to see if there's some that are better than others. My mother in law always asks for a Christmas list and I hate not being surprised so I usually put way more on there than I know she'd ever get so it's a surprise what she picks. This year I'm having trouble putting together a list. Maybe I'll just tell her a crochet magazine and see what she comes up with. I doubt there's a bad one LOL!!

Oh and also,, if you get the PBS channels,, check out their programs,, we get several shows,, 'Fons & Porter Quilting', 'Knit & Crochet'. 'Quilt Art', and 'Sewing with Nancy'.. there are others,, but these are the ones I usually watch when I turn the TV on.
and they all have websites to visit and down load patterns.. also the Fons & Porter show has a magazine, but I forget what it is called...,

Heather,, there are several Crochet mags out there.. next time you are in a market or Walmart or?? take a peek in their newsstand ...
Our small town 'YOKES' market,, they have a newsstand with a gazillion magazines from Aprons to Tattoo ,, and all sorts of other stuff in between...
Also if you are in a fabric store like JoAnns or Hobby Lobby.. they also have magazine stands.. so take a peek at the different crochet magz.. write down their web sites and then go home and research them...
In the mean time have fun crocheting..

I do not subscribe to any craft magazine except Threads which is all about sewing. I also just pick them up at the bookstore. However, one I really like is Knitting Traditions. This magazine more than any other delves into historic knitting patterns and the stories behind them. They also publish patterns from a variety of cultures. The issue I look at now has patterns and stories from Latvia, England, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, the Andes, medieval northern Europe, Armenia, 11th century Islamic north Africa, Scotland, the Holy Roman Empire, the American Civil War, Morocco, Appalachia, 1700 and 1800 New England, Victorian England, Portugal and 1800's Arizona (this last was done by a man while incarcerated the the Yuma Territorial Prison). Every issue is like this. If I were to subscribe, this is the one I would get.

I hope someone has a good answer for you Heather. I usually just look at the fabric store and find something with projects I'm interested in.
