Well it's almost Garden beddy-by time...
My sunflowers are spent,, and the leaves are burned from the strong winds we had...
Raspberries are done..
what is left of my carrots, beets and onions, are the stragglers...and my tomato plants are wheeping but still loaded in spite of the fact that I have been harvesting for the past 2 weeks (when I can go outside)... I have been giving away onions, peppers and maters like crazy..
My strawberries are steadfast.. but I know they to will give up soon. My okra bushes still bloom,, but we are getting to cold at night for them to do anything. Oh, and go figure, my cantaloupe have about 6 melons, but are the size of an apple and now with no sun, and cold nights I know they won't make it..

Oh well,, there is always next year...

I too THOUGHT I was done with garden but then took a little stroll thru it
& found some new little broccoli “heads” on my plants. Into the dinner salad they went! And the kale just won’t give up!!! - so “waste not want not”, I will be harvesting that tomorrow . . . Sigh.

The Roma tomatoes are still giving a few but will soon be done. The butternut squash vines are loaded. This year we planted Tennessee Spinner gourds that are so pretty on the vine. These were planted for crafts and such. Pretty soon I want to get containers ready to plant spinach. There will be a lot of clean up around the blackberry vines once it gets a bit cooler.

Lisa,
I am the same way. There is always room for even the smallest vegetable in a salad. :)

Keep shining!

I am the opposite. I hold on, and go out and say, "Oh look a cherry tomato and a 2 inch cucumber, and this pepper looks like I could salvage it for half a salad portion!!"
Just let me wade through 10 feet of weeds to find it!
Kind of a produce treasure hunt/fall maze

Krista,, yep, I hear ya,, those horried winds burned the leaves on my sunflowers...

Winnie... it's funny,,, once I am done... I AM Done! and then in the midsts of Winter, I wish it were summer gardening time! lol!
But for now,,, I will find an excuse to continue playing in my sewing room,,, even tho' I know I need to get outside and clean up my garden...lol!

I don't have a vegetable garden but our flowers everywhere are still going strong. They seem to be thriving with all our rain and humidity. The only thing in the garden that is droopy and weary is ME! I am so sick and tired of semi-tropical weather conditions for weeks on end!! Like your tomato plants and others who are DONE with this season, I stand with them because I am so DONE with this Summer too!! LOL!!

Same thing here Grace. My teeny tiny garden is basically done. I have harvested all my tomatoes and all my red peppers ( my green peppers didn’t servive a horrible wind storm we had a little while ago). All I have are some raspberries that are stragglers. They should be all done here shortly. I will be putting in more raspberry plants in the next couple of weeks. Other then that I am done for the year.

Grace and Michelle we all know when the season ends our hope for the next season begins. When the leaves fall I'll gather some to put in my pots of herbs. My herbs & container roses all winter over outside except for the bay and I move it inside to a sunny south window. All the herbs left in the raised beds will winter over there with help of leaves. The only thing left for me to do is plant the garlic the first of Oct in one raised beds and among the herbs in the other 3.

I just cleaned most of my garden out last night. I left the zucchini and a few cantaloupe out there. The zucchini goes to the pigs and chickens, so if they keep going good. I picked 6 of the cantaloupe and brought in. Various sizes. I picked all the peppers last night as well. Chance of freezing, but it is only 42 right now. I will get them froze up and be done. Grace we always have optimism for next year don't we.
