Here is a nice little on-line site with the history, sale of parts, ideas etc. for owners of Singer 221 and 222

https://singer-featherweight.com

"The Featherweight Shop."

they give free trouble shooting advice and post free monthly craft & quilting tutorials..

I am not endorsing them,, just sharing with you another good site for help with our Feather Weight machines.

My 221 has a beautiful story. I sold her to a friend when I bought a newer Singer and soon regretted doing that. My df became very ill anf few years later she died. About 6 months after her death a semi pulled up in front of my home and the driver came to my door carrying a package. Much to my surprize my 221 had come home. Glenda's husband had sent her home. I cried tears of sadness and joy. As you probably know all Feather Weights are named and mine is Glenda. Kathy

Well, one ofmine is the traditional black and the other is white. I guess I really do need a blue one and a red one. . . . and . . . .

The feather weight site I lsted above, will re-paint your machine,, but $$$
I think, but don't hold me to it,, they have a tutorial on how to paint a 221/222

If I were brace enough,,, I'd paint mine either a Aqua or candy apple red!!!

The FeatherWeight Shop is my go-to for accessories for my machine also. I have a little black child's size machine that my dad bought for me when I was 5. Through the years the tension spring has been broken off and I have looked forever for a replacement.
