I guess I could have posted this in the book section, but the majority of this book is dedicated to recipes, so I decided to post here.
This book was originally published in 1861 in Victoria Britain.
The recipes cover everything and beyond.
And as a huge plus, it has chapters on everything household from Britain in the day:
Duties of the butler, footman, coachman, ladies maid and on and on.
The edition I just received is a facsimile of the original, but the font etc appears authentic. (1112 pages!)
I will enjoy this book bit by bit!

Great Sara!..Did you find the one with the 1000+ pages?

Lisa, I heard about Mrs. Beetons' book several years ago on a British cooking show. I collect old cookbooks and reprints of really old books. You know me as soon as I read your post yesterday, I got on Amazon and found the one you ordered. Mine will be here in a couple of weeks. I just hope the print isn't so small I will have to have a magnifying glass to read it. Thanks for reminding me of it and giving me a place to order it.

That's an amazing find. I bet it's fascinating to read. Can you imagine what it would be like to have all that help? I'm not sure if I'd love it or hate it LOL!

I originally reserved it from the library, but was able to find it used on Amazon, so I purchased it. There were many options, but several were only about 100 or so pages; I wanted one as close to the original as possible, so I was sure to check the number of pages.
The one from the library was HUGE and weighed several pounds.
This one is roughly 4x6 and about 3 in thick, but still as comprehensive.
Something to look at every day.
I look at what went into their daily routine, and feel like I do nothing compared to them.
But I don't have a footman, butler, or ladies maid..So there's that. LOL

What fun that will be to read! I love old etiquette books and have several. Enjoyable reading on a rainy day.
