Hi girls. I am coming to you with huge prayer request.

John and I are in Seattle for a medical appointment for me. Tomorrow I will be having a procedure to see how the blood vessels in my brain are working. I have extra vessels on the right side of my brain. They have been causing me headaches for about 18 months. The procedure tomorrow will give the doctors an idea of what happening and how much blood is pumping through the vessels. The procedure will begin at 10:00 am (pacific). Depending on what the Dr finds will determine the next step. There are four possibilities: do nothing and just watch it, actual surgery to remove the mass of vessels, a procedure that would glue the openings to the vessels closed, or a gamma knife that would radiate the vessels.

Phew….I would appreciate all the prayers and good thoughts! My faith is strong, but I’m still a little nervous.

I treasure each of you and the blessings you’ve brought into my life! :)

Karen :)

Karen was released from the hospital yesterday she is doing great!
They live four hours from the hospital in Seattle so they will spend a couple of days in a hotel John does not want her to get too tired. But she is so happy to be out of the hospital.
Continued prayers.

Morning update on Karen:
Karen is doing really well. They have taken the drain out of her incision and is now only hooked up to one IV for fluids. She is still really tired and just wants to sleep and is frustrated with that. The doctor told her it is totally normal and will take at least a week for her body to remove all the anesthesia, especially with how long she was under. One doctor (surgeon) said she will probably get out of intensive care today and the other one said probably one more night. So we will see, but she is doing really good.
Wonderful news for sure.
Have a Blessed Sunday Farmgirls.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

Just heard from Karen’s husband John with an update on her:

Heard from the doctor things went good!!! They did need to give her some blood due to bleeding but she remained stable through out the surgery. I should get to see her in a couple of hours.

Just the best news ever, answered prayers. Thank you Farmgirls! Continued prayers for a speedy recovery, she will be in the hospital until at least Monday,

Big Hugs,
Debbie

Thank-you Debbie for the update on Karen. No doubt it is hard having her surgeries postponed until next week. I will keep her in my prayers as she waits.

Karen ask me to update you on her surgeries. Sadly they have been postponed until the 17th and 18th of August, but I do not know why. It must be difficult for her to have to wait longer. But, Karen is strong and she is hanging in there. She is keeping busy crafting she said which helps.
Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

My sweet sisters, the past 8 days have been a rollercoaster of emotions. I can tell you that I have felt all of your prayers. In all my days, I've never felt so much peace surrounding a serious situation. That peace is because of each of you and your continued prayers. The upcoming days will be busy with pre-op tests done here in town and then on Wednesday, August 9th we will head to Seattle. I have told John that I really have the "easy" job on the two days of the procedures since I will be asleep, so if you could please pray that John has peace while waiting. And my 2 daughters, as well, as they will be here in town prepping for the start of a new school year. Sending you all my love and hugs! :)
