Hi Ladies,

In honor of my Mr. Frank (and to support our Lost Art of Letter Writing Swap ..and.. merit badge, I thought I would share the following link, perhaps we could write a letter to a soldier, to encourage, share gratitude, etc. For they are not the only ones who sacrifice for our country, their families do as well. I witnessed first hand the post tramatic stress my Mr. Frank experienced from WWII alone, he was a Navy Veteran, a kamikaze came in and bombed his ship, killed his crew, he was the only survivor, however, he fell to the deck below and broke his back. And, this was after the war was called off, but back then, technology did not provide for instant communciation, that message had not yet been communicated and received by the Japanese Pilots. Three surgeries later, he continued to serve in the Navy through the Korea and Vietnam wars and up until he retired. He experienced bad dreams, PTS and pain every single night up until last night. I know without a doubt he's resting in peace now.

I'm sure our current troops would love any support you're willing to share.

April, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. Soldiers have done so much for us and really get so little in return. I think sending them letters is a great idea.

Thank you so much April for sharing your Mr. Frank with us what a special man and hero. Thank you too for the link, as a retired military wife I enjoy our older veterans who do not have anyone, they always seem so lost and lonely. Thank you for reminding us not to forget these hero’s!

Big Hugs,
