CALGON, TAKE ME AWAY!! 0H how I longed for a vacation this summer but never got one due to responsibilities and renovations! How about you? Did you get your summer vaca? Well if ya didn't how about going on a virtual vacation just before the summer ends??
For our ATC swap this month we are going to create the rounds, 2 1/2 by 3ish sizes and create our dream vacation landscape. Ohhh, ahhh you say? Yea, me too! I've already been overthinking all the places STILL on my bucket list to visit and which shall I puck?

Artist trading cards (ATCs) are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world. Artists create, trade and collect art at organized "swap" events, either in person or online. The only official rule for ATCs is the size: 2.5" x 3.5". Artist Trading Cards are the same format as modern trading cards (hockey cards or baseball cards). Alternately you may choose to use a round ATC Coin of 2.5" diameter. They are self-made unique works or small series, signed and dated on the reverse by the artist/producer, exchanged and collected by the people who participate in the collaborative performance.
Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are a conceptual art project initiated by the Swiss artist M. Vanci Stirnemann. He called it a Collaborative Cultural Performance. In 1997 he created 1200 cards by hand as part of an exhibit. On the last day, he invited others to create their own cards and trade with him during the closing reception. The movement took off, and today, there are ATC swaps in almost every major city around the world!
You can make ATCs with many different media including paper, fabric, felt, metal, wood, clay, paint, stamps, embellishments and more. There are tons of ideas and inspiration available online if you google ATC or Artist Trading Cards.

Darlene, how'd it go yesterday and have you gotten Jamis package yet? It did not go first class, so no tracking. It seems that anything not sent with po priority gets last class priority. Unfortunately. So you may even get it NEXT week. They are funny....

I found this wonderful treat in the mailbox last night upon arrival home after school. It made me think of a song from my childhood, "Over the river and through the woods..." Our vacation ATC did just that, from Oregon to Florida, to Ohio. It is wonderful. And how wonderful to see, we look to the same places with different end goals, when I showed Mom she pointed this out for me.
Debie, Thank you for you ATC,(I like the way you have designed it, to be sitting on the beach looking to the mountains), the sweet note and teas. Enjoy our last week of Summer. Fall begins next Wednesday I think.
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord

Oh yes, Judith, it sucked for sure being as hot and humid as it was here. Even the ac didn't seem to help, but again, its done and we're good good!! Yippee! :)

So glad you are feeling better. Youngest daughter and I caught summer strep once. It seemed so much worse having it in hot weather rather than in the winter when we usually caught it.
