HI Farmgirls,

My daughter is a freshman in college. She went through girl scouts from Daisies to Senior year, and I was a leader for 13 years (also cookie mom and troop treasurer, lol). Anyway, she earned her silver award years ago, and decided she wanted to earn her Gold Award. The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award a scout can get - like a Boy Scout Eagle scout. She was supposed to finish it by senior year, but with the pandemic, there were things that she could not do and it got pushed back. She also had countless set backs, that were not her fault at all, and countless hurdles. Even her Gold Award mentor had never seen so many obstacles thrown at a girl. Well, today, she had her final interview. Almost three years, over 100 hours, and lots of sweat and tears, and her hard work paid off. She got it!!!!! I AM SO PROUD! What an accomplishment. I am so in awe of her. I think I might have given up at her age, but she was determined. She created a pet network, with emergency tips and a Facebook group that is still growing. She did several drives to help the shelter, and created a website and a brochure being handed out at vet offices. I am so happy for her and so very proud! Whew! What a long ride it was!

Nicole that is fabulous! So nice to hear of young adults into something besides Tik Tok!
Of course, I am sure she had a great mentor in her mother!
