Does anyone else brew their tea in a French Press carafe?
I have just started doing this, on days when I know I will be drinking larger amounts of tea....

is mostly drink Herbal teas...

add almost, boiling water...
press and let steep for 5-7min.

I do use a small strainer when pouring the tea into my cup incase a few leaves escape the plunger..
I keep the 'jacket' on the Carafe to keep the tea warm..

Nothing more cheerful then a lovely cup of tea and a Biscotti or scone on a cold day...

I plan to keep my mom's press,, so I can keep one in the house for my tea and the other will go in the motorhome..
now I just need to make a jacket for this one (when I get home).
Since it will be going in the motorhome, I might use a kitschy RV fabric :>)

My tea (yesterday) turned out lovely tho' I had a few leaves in it as the loose tea leaves were just a bit fine .. but no biggie..

Nothing like a hot cuppa tea to take the chill off your bones, huh, Gracie?

I have lots of loose teas! I just think maybe I might want to have a dedicated press; separate ones for coffee and for tea... What do you think? Is that necessary??? I my have to, anyway. Hubs has to have his morning bloom! ;)

Nini, I use widerloose crumble tea leaves, not the 'fine' tea ..

Now, I think I just might make myself a cuppa... the Handyman is here working on more repairs,, and I found my mother's French press.. and I just happen to have loose cut tea.. so time for Tea..
Besides, it is uber winder here today,, so I am indoors, working on a cross stitch project.

Hugz ya' all...

I have never used our French Press for tea, Gracie! What a great idea! I love ours! We use it every day - makes the best coffee ever! We call it our "bloomin' coffee" because of the way we let the coffee grinds "bloom" in an inch or so of hot water before adding the rest! It's become popular here at home and with friends stopping by! My girlfriend always asks if my "bloomin' coffee" is ready for her! LOL! I'll have to give it a whirl for my tea! Only thing is, it doesn't keep the coffee hot long... Bet it wouldn't keep the tea hot long, either. Even my teapot doesn't do that well. Guess it's just the perils of having a good brew!

Hugs -

I have a teapot french press. Just started using it after my daughter gifted me a camomile/lavender loose tea for Christmas.

Hiya, I use a French press and a pour over(it only makes 1 cup at a time though).
I like hot tea this time of year and then, for some strange reason, I like coffee more come Spring.
Any body else like that? My taste buds tell me when to switch. It's what they want. Weird :O
We use to have a tea swap over on the 'Virtual Porch' every year. Then we all got burned out
...or soggy hahaha I have LOTS of teas!
