Happy June everyone! I debated about the theme for our swap this month. It's been quite the year so far hasn't it?? It was Dawn's post today that helped me make my mind up. With July coming I think the theme will be 'AMERICANA'. I get to feeling so patriotic and inspired by individuals who ban together or go out of their way to help someone, a community in a positive unselfish way!
So, 3 1/2 X 2 1/2 cards using whatever art -crafting medium you'd like. One card- one partner, ok?
Sign ups until the 17th, partners assigned on the 18th and mailouts by the 25th please. Any questions shoot me an email! Have fun and as as always, can't wait to see the awesome creativity you farmsisters come up with!!
Artist trading cards (ATCs) are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world. Artists create, trade and collect art at organized "swap" events, either in person or online. The only official rule for ATCs is the size: 2.5" x 3.5". Artist Trading Cards are the same format as modern trading cards (hockey cards or baseball cards). Alternately you may choose to use a round ATC Coin of 2.5" diameter. They are self-made unique works or small series, signed and dated on the reverse by the artist/producer, exchanged and collected by the people who participate in the collaborative performance.
Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are a conceptual art project initiated by the Swiss artist M. Vanci Stirnemann. He called it a Collaborative Cultural Performance. In 1997 he created 1200 cards by hand as part of an exhibit. On the last day, he invited others to create their own cards and trade with him during the closing reception. The movement took off, and today, there are ATC swaps in almost every major city around the world!
You can make ATCs with many different media including paper, fabric, felt, metal, wood, clay, paint, stamps, embellishments and more. There are tons of ideas and inspiration available online if you google ATC or Artist Trading Cards.

Jami, your package arrived to you yet?? The mail system says yes but I've been told I have gotten packages before only to find out I didnt receive them but my neighbor had it!! We live in the country. ....so?

Thank you Rebecca for the unique and pretty silk print eagle and flag ATC. Loved the red,
white and blue stars too. Interesting story about the eagle having lived at Dollywood in
Pigeon Forge, TN.
Also clever "God Bless America" ATC on the flip side, wow you gave me 2 ATC's in one.
I have a little ATC stand and I have yours sitting on it and will enjoy especially on the 4th
(and all month). Thanks so much for the teas too, I will enjoy them.

Thank you Jill and Dianna. I love "Americana" and anything vintage so this was a lot of
fun in the making. Since it is so close to the 4th of July I used my star ribbons and
stickers. A lot of my inspiration comes from all of you and the unique, individual ideas
you put together in your projects.

Linda, you are amazing! I absolutely LOVE the ATC you sent me, thank you so much!! It's absolutely stunning and I love the label you created for the reverse side. Definitely a collectible!
