Posted - May 02 2020 : 11:46:54 AM My friend just planted snap dragons for his summer flowers. They look beautiful now---but do they bloom all summer---I have no experience with them at all. Don't understand if they are just spring and early summer bloomers.

Posted - May 06 2020 : 1:19:22 PM Snap dragons can even grow down here in Florida and they really are so colorful and hardy. Barbara, if you can't get any seeds this year for snapdragons, maybe you can make a note somewhere to get them next year for sure.

Posted - May 04 2020 : 05:11:45 AM Hi Grace---do you girls mean climbing moon flowers or the ones in bush form? The bush forms are available in purple and yellow too. Check out the Seeds'n' Such catalog. I love them. Although they were not taking orders the last time I tried to order---too many people wanting seeds. So glad I ordered early---but even then about three things I wanted were out.

Posted - May 03 2020 : 1:32:56 PM Okay girls when you're through playing with snapdragons you can eat them. They are one of the edible flowers. I grew snapdragons once and put them in fruit salads along with nasturtium blossoms. I haven't grown them in years - maybe I should put them on my list for next year's garden.

Posted - May 02 2020 : 7:06:27 PM I have always been a fan of snapdragons. They will reseed and return the next year providing their soil isn't disturbed. I hope your friend has good luck with his.

Posted - May 02 2020 : 2:44:50 PM Thank you Peggy---yes I do want to try some. They are beautiful--but I just always thought they were spring flowers. People always told me that and I guess I believed it. I love to try new things---but only if I ask people who have actually tried these things.

Posted - May 02 2020 : 11:55:46 AM Barbara...they do bloom all Summer and even into early fall. They are so very pretty and colorful !! Are you thinking about planting some? I am getting ready to plant some Lavendar Moonflowers (they are a Morningglory). I have the seeds soaking in water for 24 hours, then I will go plant them. They are so pretty! Another Old Fashioned Flower that I enjoy!
