My friend just planted snap dragons for his summer flowers. They look beautiful now---but do they bloom all summer---I have no experience with them at all. Don't understand if they are just spring and early summer bloomers.

Snap dragons can even grow down here in Florida and they really are so colorful and hardy. Barbara, if you can't get any seeds this year for snapdragons, maybe you can make a note somewhere to get them next year for sure.

Yes Grace you may play with your food (snapdragons) after you wash your hands and behind your ears.

Hi Grace---do you girls mean climbing moon flowers or the ones in bush form? The bush forms are available in purple and yellow too. Check out the Seeds'n' Such catalog. I love them. Although they were not taking orders the last time I tried to order---too many people wanting seeds. So glad I ordered early---but even then about three things I wanted were out.

Mom did the same thing; talking snapdragons. So naturally I did it for my kids too.

Okay girls when you're through playing with snapdragons you can eat them. They are one of the edible flowers. I grew snapdragons once and put them in fruit salads along with nasturtium blossoms. I haven't grown them in years - maybe I should put them on my list for next year's garden.

Grace, my neighbor lady growing up had gorgeous flowers and we always did the same thing to the snapdragons. So funny

HG56,,, when my daughter was a little girl,, I would gently squeeze the sides of the snap dragon flower and use a funny voice,, as if the snap dragon was talking... oh I miss those simple summer days...

I have always been a fan of snapdragons. They will reseed and return the next year providing their soil isn't disturbed. I hope your friend has good luck with his.

Bloom, where you are planted.

Thank you Peggy---yes I do want to try some. They are beautiful--but I just always thought they were spring flowers. People always told me that and I guess I believed it. I love to try new things---but only if I ask people who have actually tried these things.

Barbara...they do bloom all Summer and even into early fall. They are so very pretty and colorful !! Are you thinking about planting some?
I am getting ready to plant some Lavendar Moonflowers (they are a Morningglory). I have the seeds soaking in water for 24 hours, then I
will go plant them. They are so pretty! Another Old Fashioned Flower that I enjoy!

Hugs and Smiles,
Peggy
