I finally was able to go out shopping and go to a fabric store! I found the Quiltmaker magazine with the pattern that intrigued me but it isn't a Bonnie Hunter one as I thought, just one she had on her blog. Someday when my UFOs are all finished....

Love the colors Grace! You could put them together and make a drying quilt. I got one from a farmgirl that I planned to put my canning jars on when I remove them from the canner. But, I discovered that it works great for dishes too. It fits so nice on my counter and works perfect for big dishes (like my roasting pan or big serving bowls) that don't fit in the dish drainer.

does anyone have the latest (I think) Quiltmaker magazine I can buy? It has a Bonnie Hunter pattern that interested me and I can't find the magazine at any of the few places I've been the past month. We're venturing out Thursday so maybe I can find it then.

April,, you are not alone,, I hate it when I have to get a correct tension for certain fabrics... and then re-set the tension again...

Beautiful, Grace!! I love hand made quilts so much! There is nothing more comforting than being wrapped up in a quilt someone special made you! I'm not much of a seamstress, wish I was. I can muster up something if I have to, but for some reason I've never had the patience, oh, and that darn bobbin tension is my biggest challenge, it gets the best of me more times than not! Such frustration!

I'm the booksellers best friend; I'm always buying books and running out of room for them. I always donate a box or two of them to our quilt show to sell at the country store. I'm so bad that I'e been known to buy the same book twice. I used to by a lot of quilting magazines but no more as they are now full of "modern" quilts and I prefer traditional quilts with reproduction fabrics.

HaHa... back in the '70's, I thought a Quilt was just a bunch of square blocks sewn together... boy have I come along way!

I have since,,, collected a few books,, I had a ton more,, but they were to advanced and I gave them all away...

I also gave away a bunch of quilt patterns that I had collected over the years... thinking... 'some day'..

Yesterday, I went threw my remaining stash.. and weeded out some more quilt books and patterns..
I need to be realistic.. and only keep a few,, the ones I know I will use... the rest.. Bye Bye..

Sometimes you just can't make one, or four.... Way back when I began quilting I had a book of 1000 quilt block patterns. I sat on the floor with my hand crank machine on the coffee table and made 12 inch blue and white quilt blocks from the book. I ended up with enough to make a quilt for our bed. I'm sure glad I don't have to sit on the floor to sew anymore.
