My fenced in garden is almost done...

need to pick up more wire and a couple more 2x4's..
Hubby also still needs to build the door/gate.. and I need to shop on-line for the perfect entry gate deco that says "Welcome to my Garden"
I have one of my iron patio sets in the garden.. in case I need to sit down, rest and enjoy a glass of wine... after a hard day of gardening!

Judith,,, Oh MY! I need to get one! Sun Sugar... luv it!

Slowly getting some more things done...

every year the Robins eat and make a mess of our 2 cherry trees... while the smaller birds poke holes in our Apple tree..
So... DH bought a bunch of brite colored rubber snakes,, and is hanging them from the trees...
If it works, and scars off the Robins,, YIPPEEE!,, and if it doesn't.. my grand son will be getting a bunch of rubber snakes! lol!
We also put up a faux Owl,, fingers crossed this will keep the little birds out of my garden...

meet Ollie....

Grace -- it's called Sun Sugar, and yes it's nice and sweet. My daughter had one that grew about 15 feet from where it was planted [ to her deck and then another 10 feet or so to the bedroom balcony. Amazing plant. Too bad they are too little to can.

Judith, sounds like you have "Golden Cherries" tomatoes..
I had a yellow pear shaped cherry tomato plant,, and like yours,, it grew up and over the fence....
I let some of the tomatoes fall on the ground, and yep, come the following spring,, lots of itty bitty plants popped up...
That was when I lived in 1000 Oaks, in Ventura, CO,, fabulous weather.. boy do I miss it.
I did plant 'Golden cherry' tomatoes this year,,, how did you like yours? Were they sweet?

We planted a tomato plant last year; one that has tiny sweet orange tomatoes. It grew and grew -- over the once and into the neighbors yard. It survived the winter, even giving us some really tiny tomatoes. It's blooming again and looks like it will be another amazing plant this year, too. I've never had a tomato plant last two years before. The neighbors cut down the part that was over the fence. Their loss.

I love the mushroom, it's a nice touch. Those of you who have tomatoes blooming already make me very envious, I am a long ways away from having a blooming tomato.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Grace...it is looking so cool!! Love the Mushrooms...such a wonderful touch!
Yup, I would be sitting out there sipping my iced-tea or iced-coffee...watching
my garden grow...in between chapters in a good book. It is always lovely to
read in the sunshine. Though we haven't had much of that this past week.
Rain and overcast days.

Darlene,, speaking of trees,, There is a pine (too) near our house,, and I would like to make it 'go away'.. but hubby loves it... My concern is that it might topple toward the house...
I told him we could plant a new, nicer tree in it's place, just not so near the house ...
Men! what are you gonna do with them? lol!

The garden looks great. You got a lot done. No wonder you hurt!
If I tell my husband not to touch my stuff, he does it anyway! If he doesn't like where something is, whack it's gone! Not nice!
One time I came home and a Hugh evergreen tree was gone. I told him I didn't want it cut because it was beautiful and I could watch and feed the birds there!
That was a whack! Sigh!

We planted rosemary and lavender up at our trailer and the critters have left it alone, but the deer are eating the honeysuckle.

Nice looking garden ; it even looks like it might be deer-proof. Dad had a six foot fence around his garden; one morning he went out to check it and found a mountain lion in it. He carefully retraced his steps back to the house. He checked a couple hours later and fortunately it was gone.

I'm with you Grace - little or no up-keep is the way to go. Your garden is is wonderful - I like it a lot.

I am thinking,,, about using a 'vinegar wash' on the wood to give it that aged patina...
Hubby wanted to paint or stain, but I don't want to have the up-keep every year.. and besides, I like the natural weathered look
of the fencing.
Ahh, decisions, decisions....
