Lookie, lookie what my sweet DH made for me...

I have arthritis in my hands around the thumbs.. and crocheting has become a bit achey for me..

Well DH recently made our Harry Potter loving granddaughter a H.P. Wand...

I was looking at it and while holding it, found it to be quit comfortable.. so I asked DH if he could make a handle and insert a crochet hook for me...
Yeppers,, That man of mine is Genius!
I even tested it out and what a difference...

So he is out in his wood shop making another one.
Now I have a size I and a J crochet hook.

I have seen nice, cushioned crochet hooks, but then I look at the price tag,, and pass on them..
I love my DH...

My hubby made me a capo for my dulcimer. I could have bought one fairly cheap but the one he made means so much more because he made it.

Grace, you have an amazing husband! He did a great job. I’m happy to hear they make crocheting easier for you. Enjoy all the crochet you can do now! Love the wand too! Very creative.

Oh Gracie Grace,
Why on Earth would you even consider those expensive store bought cushy ones, that may wear out, when Mr Katdad can make a set of beautiful, awesome family heirlooms that you can pass on to another family member that YOU taught to crochet. What a legacy!

One nice husband! One lucky wife!
I have RA and my hands and wrists are bad. I had 4 trigger fingers and carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand last year with great success. However, from using my thumb so much, it's a trigger finger now. It gets caught so bad I can't release it easily. Hurts like crazy! I've only started crocheting the last few months. We take our hands for granted!

WOW, what a great solution to crocheting with arthritis!! Your sweet Hubby did an awesome job out there in his wood shop!! I too have some stiffness and pain in my hands that makes knitting and crocheting more painful if I do it for too long. I also can’t use those little needles anymore required to knit socks. All my socks now have to be with thicker yarn and even then, I can’t work for hours on end like I could do. UGH, this getting old is getting in my way of doing fine handwork!!
