Do any of you gals have an Air Fryer?>

I love my Insta.pot,, but I am very much interested in getting an Air Fryer as well. For health reasons...

I am getting blurry eyed researching all the different, sizes, shapes, styles,,, etc..

Any thoughts?

OK,,, so the Verdict is in...
I LOVE MY new Air Fryer!!!
To night I used the rotisserie and made a Santa Maria Pork Roast... it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside... DH was very happy...
Chicken is my go-to.. and I have made it several ways in the Air Fryer...

Soon, I plan to check out the Dehydrator function....

I am so pleased with it,,, that I am actually thinking it will make a great Christmas (if I can wait that long) gift for my daughter...

Thanks for the advice I guess I had not thought about the library. Ours is still closed as well. I wonder how much longer it will be. I have not ventured off the hill in nearly two months aside from one doctor's appt.

I think I will google it. Isn't it interesting that the recipe books for the machines often call for such a wide variety of ingredients some of which we seldom have on hand? Thanks again.

Be blessed.

Julie,, I too had a O.O. spritzer that gummed up after not to long..

We have a specialty Olive Oil and Vinegar shop ( closed for now) in down town Spokane,, I will have to check on line if they carry OO spritzers...

Terri,, I have not ventured out of my comfort zone yet with my Insta-pot.. yet my sister and my daughter use theirs weekly,, they go on-line for recipes...

That is my one (ok, 1 of many) gripes... The machines do not come with very good instruction books let along user friendly recipes...
But then, they want you to buy those over priced books that we probably will only use a couple of times...

again, I go on-line..... and print up recipes that I know I can make with out having to buy 20gazillion ingredients!
Also the Library is a great resource, (but ours are still closed..

Grace, I bought a can of olive oil cooking spray. I have had several spritzers, but have never been happy with how they preform.

I like our Air fryer. But, I have not really gotten into using the Insta-pot. I am not confident in fuiguring out how to use/set it. Ours did not come with a very good manual as far as actually cooking with it. Any suggestions?

Nicole.. I took your advice.. and got the 8qt, 1700watt Air Fryer..
I am looking forward to it arriving,,, it is 17" tall,, and is just barely going to fit under the cabinet..
I use to have a Dehydrator and made my own Jerky as well as dried fruits and some veggies.. It gave up the ghost 2 years ago and I hadn't replaced it.. so I hope this will work well and even faster..

Also I like making my own fresh French fried with Trader Joes seasoning sea salts... I see lots of fun foods in our future!
with out the added fat calories! lol!

Now I need to find a EVOO spritzer, everything I've read,, suggests it is a 'must' for successful cooking...

Hi Grace, I posted this topic back in November, I think. Will look for it. My parents loved theirs so much they bought me one. I love it, and wonder how I lived without it! Advice: get a bigger one than you might think you need. Mine is much bigger than what I would have purchased for myself and I am so glad that they did that. We use it almost everyday. With the Instant Pot and the Air Fryer, we have awesome meals! I love mine. It is the big red one from Power Air Fryer Pro.

It is a bit noisy, but I don't mind since it is cooking my meal.

Good point Julie,, for just the 2 of us,, I am trying to slim down huge appliances to small more economic ones...

Is yours noisy? That seems to be the one major complaint I read from reviews.

I looked at the 3 trayed one,Grace, but thought it was to big for just the 2 of us. Mine has a roast feature on it as well that works for my baked sweet potato. I like them hubby does not and I see no point only putting 1 potato in the oven.

My sister has never used hers either.

Julie,, I have been looking at 2 types of Air Fryers,, one that is a 'basket'(various brand names) type only,, and the other is more square and has 3 trays, and a rotisserie...
I made olive oil and season sea salt fries the other day,, and broil them,, but geepers,, I had to pre-heat the oven and then broil the taters.. I would much rather have a small unit on the counter,, especially in the summer when the oven raises the temp in the kitchen.
My sister has one, and still has not used it..
And my daughter want's one,, but has assigned the task of Research,, to me.. oh joy!

Oh,, chicken fried steak patties? I never thought of that!

I have one and LOVE it. I make all of our French fries, fried potatoes, fried fish, breaded chicken pieces, my steaks for chicken fried steaks .....it works great for the grandkids too, just throw those chicken nuggets or corn dogs in there and hit the button. Mine is a Ninja and has a basket big enough for the two of us. I never dig out our deep fryer anymore, so much healthier for us.

I think I read that the new instant has air fryer capabilities.

We have one. It's good for french fries, chicken wings and roasting veggies. Try to get one with a big basket that will allow hot air to circulate around the food, and choose a digital thermostat. Ours has a dial, but I just keep it at the highest setting.
