Posted - Mar 21 2020 : 07:44:01 AM A couple of weeks ago I discovered organic ginger in a tube. It may have been around for awhile but it's new to me. I have used it in a couple of dishes and really like it. May never buy fresh ginger again except for canning and in hot tea. Ginger in a tube has sunflower & EVOO so it probably wouldn't be good in hot tea.
What's new to you in your kitchen? food or gadget

Posted - Apr 14 2020 : 2:34:23 PM Oh, Krista, I love my Bundt pans! I have two - a traditional Bundt and a Bundt that looks like a sunflower. Would love to have the recipe for that!

Posted - Apr 10 2020 : 12:43:29 PM My most recently new thing in the kitchen is a bundt pan. My mother in law makes delicious bundt bread and I really wanted to make some for my family. So I finally invested in 2 bundt pans and have made the bread 3 times so far. It’s been about a month since I made some. Sounds like a good idea for Easter dinner!

Posted - Apr 09 2020 : 12:00:47 PM I think I got my ginger in a tube at Trader Joe's. They also had tomato paste in a tube. I would like to find the basil.

Posted - Apr 09 2020 : 05:53:47 AM I have also found organic Basil in a tube. It worked well, though I have not seen it in awhile. I miss the organic ginger in the tube! Maybe I can find it online. We can hardly find anything anymore right now, and have only been out for supplies twice in over a month.
Thanks for the reminder! I previously got mine at Aldi’s.

Posted - Mar 23 2020 : 10:05:18 AM Dianna, I wonder if you could grow horseradish in your garden? When we bought our farm there was a horseradish plant on it. I didn’t use it, and then it died, but I’ve often thought that I should replant it and make it part of my pantry.
New to my kitchen is my old pressure canner. It has changed the way I garden, the things I preserve, and the way I spend my time. And it’s all because I followed the canning stream on this forum, and all you great women inspired me! |

Posted - Mar 21 2020 : 1:40:52 PM Sara, your ginger find is interesting! I do like ginger tea but have only used the spice in a few cookie recipes. It does sound easy to have on hand, however, when you don't have fresh handy.

Posted - Mar 21 2020 : 08:22:43 AM I think I shy'd away from it because of my father eating it with sardines! Always thought it was so gross and stomach turning. But look at me.....trying all these things he used to eat! Lol. I made dh some homemade cocktail sauce after looking it up on pinterest. It was so good I ate my cucumber in it! Lol!

Posted - Mar 21 2020 : 08:16:13 AM Dianna so happy you discovered horseradish. It comes in handy for Bar B Q sauces and I like it mixed with baked potato & sour cream.
