Thanx Santa....

HeeHeeHee... hubby and I took the pup to the Poodle Parlor for a 'Spa treatment'... and to kill 2hours hubby and I grabbed a bite to eat and then hit the Thrift, I figured I would pop in and score some yarn.. for misc. crocheting.. in fact I had planned to look for some red yarn to crochet the tops of a couple of dish towels (thanx Krista)... when low and behold... what did I see... not 1 but 2 sewing machines that now live happily in my sewing room..
The 1st is a Singer 401A,,, I have a 403A and 406A,, and now a 401A... and it sews fabulously!

OMG!, it purrs like a kitten...and I only paid $13.99 EEEKKKK! I am a happy Camper!
OmGosh,,,
and then...

A Husqvarna Emerald 183,

it has some cute embroidery stitches and ABC's pre-programed.
I paid $20.00 for it!
I found the original sales receipt tucked in the little info booklet, it was purchased 11/25/2011 at the JoAnns Fabric store in Spokane... $539.00 was what was paid for it back then.. I don't think they make it anymore.. maybe tonight I will go on-line and check it out.
Sooo,,, if you don't hear from me for a few days,, you'll know why! lol!

Oh,, and I forgot to get some yarn, like I had intended when I first went into the store! lol!

Grace---yes holiday underwear---I thought almost everyone gets new underwear for Christmas. Hubby didn't get his this year because he was to lazy to pick them out at Sam's and I didn't get to go there. And underwear is always picked over at Christmas---maybe a dumb idea after all---LOL

Grace, that Singer is exactly like mine that I inherited from my Mom. It was made in 1957 and I still have the owners manual too. This machine can do WAY MORE than I will ever be able to use , but my Mom made use of all of the possibilities. I can't speak to any other machine, but I learned on this one and aside from a machine gifted to me from Sears back in 1973, it is my favorite. I love that yours looks like new! What a great deal you came across while looking for some yarn for crocheting!!

HG56... Christmas underwear....HoHoHo!

Peggy, actually I live on the outskirts if Medical Lake, just up the toad from the Air Force Base. But I use the Post Office in Airway Heights as a mailing addy as it is closer then the one in Medical Lake.
oh and FYI, the old Bowling Ally has been closed down for a good 12+ years, in fact it got bulldozed this last year.

Krista... yep, I never worry about having another excuse yo go shopping! Lol!

GRACIE...SMART SANTA!! He knows how to score points!! lol. I love to see people who enjoy doing something Crafty to get great deals on
something they love and will use. How Wonderful for you!!

Do you have snow in the Airway Heights area??? I lived in Airway Heights for half of my 4th grade year. I loved the Bowling Alley there. We
had some fun Family time in that old Bowling Place.

Thank You for the Christmas Card Girlfriend! and I Hope you have a Marvelously Wonderful Christmas!

These are great finds for sure---do you actually use all your machines? I am thinking maybe you start several projects at once on different machines and sew on them when you feel like it. You must have a good husband to shop with. I had to force my husband to buy a beautiful 1940's gas range for fifty dollars in the Goodwill. Now he loves it. And oh how mad he got when I took too long to pick out my Christmas underwear on Wednesday. He doesn't know how hard it is to pick out with all the styles a sizes---very confusing to me. He is a great loner holler hubby---just don't take too long in town. Luckily I now shop on the computer and what he doesn't know won't hurt him---LOL.
