I usually plant sun flowers,, but just didn't get to it this year because we had a long winter and more than usual rains.. but I do have an errant one that popped up by the side of the house thanks to either winds or a bird... lol!
As for my chocolate mint,, it's going crazy!

Grace, your flowers are so pretty! I keep looking at those beautiful colors. When we moved in everything in our yard was just green. Over time we have added a few more things to make some color change. This year we added a Japanese weeping maple to add some red color. One day we will be vibrant like your garden.

Lori, so true... I love greeting the morning, coffee mug in hand, and walking around my flowers... greeting the Bumble bees and listening to the Meadow larks and watching the Robbins bobbin in the lawn for grubs and worms.

Your flowers are just beautiful. Nothing can lift the heart like some lovely blooms. I am just starting my flower bed this year. I have shasta daisies, coneflowers, lavender, and black-eyed susans. I just love them.

Grace...I'm with you girlfriend, I'm ALL About the Mini's and Container Gardening. I so enjoy having flowers about
but living in Apartments is not conducive to real gardening!!! But every Farmgirl must have dirt to dig in right?
I do all mine in containers as I don't want to bend over and pull weeds etc. Your Mini's are just as Gorgeous as
huge Flowerbeds. They look so pretty!!

Love and Hugs,
Peggy

I wish I had the time and energy to do a lot more gardening... so for now I just have minis...
I am currently puttering in my Rose garden area that has gotten out of control.. but it too will be tamed in a few days.

I luv PBS and the 'Create' channel on PBS.. so many gardening shows and craft shows... cooking as well-but I am more of an eater then cooker!!! lolol!

Last night on PBS they showed Great & Small Gardens of England. Whether they were several acres or a London back yard they were all unique and beautiful. I especially liked the small city garden. She had all sorts of blooming flowers tucked in between large leaf plants. One flower here - three there but it all worked. There were two farm style kitchen sinks for water gardens.

Grace your garden reminded me of what I saw in the show. Trees & bushes for varying heights and different plants grouped together for color and interest.
