. My first attempt at weaving a rug on my small loom. Used roving and my own dyed yarn. It is light weight but it was fun to make. Teaching myself weaving.

That is beautiful Michele! Great job. It's wonderful to hear that it's your own dyed yarn and from your own animals! Wow!

Thanks Michele. You pull it through a bottle cap with a hole in it. I find that interesting. I wonder what they used before there were bottle caps?

thanks everyone you are so kind. Roving is the thicker white rows, it is unspun wool. It has been washed and carded many times and is in the form of a batt. Then I pull the wool through a bottle cap with a hole in it, and then it is ready to spin into yarn. I have learned that it is too light weight for a rug, in the kitchen. But i have it there, and it looks good, so what the heck. It also is not machine washable, will have to be hand washed. It is still pretty cool as it is made out of my "Jacks" wool. Jack and Jill are about 11 or 12 years old.

Looks beautiful and difficult to do. The yarn and colors are beautiful. Have fun making rugs!

Michele it's beautiful. How wonderful to be able to weave with your own hand dyed yarn. I know noting about weaving so may I ask what is roving?
