All nestled in bed, all tucked in their shed...
my sweet trailers are tucked away for the Winter...

But while they sleep, I will be sewing a new set of curtains for my Aristocrat trailer...
Fortunately I have enough red burlap and solid red cotton (from a previous project) to make the curtains..

and... I spotted this on 'pinterest',, wouldn't this make a koolieo back splash in my trailer? I could cut a piece of 1/4" plywood, glue the corks on and then Velcro the plywood to the wall,, that way, if, down the road I decide to change it out/remove it, easy peasy...

I need to be careful I don't get to many trailer re-do ideas... after all, I only have 2 trailers...

Mary,, Yes,, Glamping in your back yard Counts! :>)

I grate up 'Irish Spring soap, and make little soap sachets and tuck them in the drawers, closet and near any openings that lead to the outside of your trailer (under sink where the drain hose is, and under the bench seats & sofa)... also in the storage compartment that is accessable from outside.
Also, I place those dryer sheets on the floor by the door and ov er the top of the tires as well as around the base of the tires...
I have bought the dryer sheets and 'faux' irish spring soap at the dollar tree store and they work fine.

Also,, at $1 store, you can buy those 'tub' of de-humidifier beads to keep moisture at bay.. or place a shoe box with a 2" layer of clay kitty litter.( I use 2, one at each end of the trailer) to help wick up moisture.
In the barn I don't close up my trailers, I keep one window cracked open, last winter we draped a sheet (2 large plastic table clots fro $1 store) just over the top, cuz birds have been sneaking into our barn and leaving their "calling cards" on the roof of my trailer..lol!

As for insurance,, when you can find a company that will cover your trailer,, they are bloody $$$$$
I checked with my company and they told me, I am covered for any damage my trailer may cause,, ex: if it comes un-htched and rolls onto property or into a vehicle...but my insurance will not cover damage to my trailer.
Also, if my trailer gets destroyed while in my barn (from a roof collapes or fire) then my insurance will cove damages to my trailer.

My suggestion is, if you are gonna be on the road towing your trailer I would double check with your insurance...
In California they have AAA insurance,, (American Automobile Assc.) I believe they use to cover motorcycle & RV insurance...

You might call a local RV dealership and ask if they have the name/info on Ins., companies.

Hope some of this helps.
oh and in the Outpost, scroll down, I posted photos of the soap sachets.

Happy Trails...

No no no...it can't be time to tuck them away! Okay I admit it, Maizy never made it out of the back yard, but oh did my daughter and I have fun glamping anyway! (Corny, but that counts...right?!)

So, a couple questions for this new glamper...
1) do you do anything special when you tuck her in the barn? (is a tarp okay or can I find a cover made for vintage campers?) and what about mice...anything to keep them from thinking she's a cozy winter home?

(2) Any tips on insurance companies? The one we use for our cars will NOT return my email- it's been a month (they wanted photos) and when I actually talked with them, they said they'd never insured a vintage camper...ugh!

Thanks,
Mary

Sounds like some cool projects! I'm still soooooooooooo sad that the "Reiver's Rest" never got a glamping vacation this summer. Neither did her glamper girls. Main reason: summer full of wildfires and smoke, forest access closed part of the summer.

Hopefully next summer!
